  1. Past hour
  2. Huh. Always looked black to me but you’re right. Well then purple letters would be fine.
  3. One off branding (for a few games) are cool. But your entire identity? It feels like they could just up and change it every 1-3 years when sales stumble. What happens in 3 years when the team changes and you buy a new hat or shirt. And then again in three years. I think at some point, you stop buying the new crap. Established brands have solid sales year over year. The one trick ponies will need a sales boost every 1-3 years. That’s not sustainable. May Brandiose rot in hell. They’ve ruined a good thing. Then again, I know some non baseball fans who love the copa designs. They own more of those than the actual team gear that’s been around decades. Gimmicks are in right now. Some teams can’t rely on changing their name ever 2 years though.
  4. The Angels used every position player and even forfeited the DH spot in their 14-inning loss to the Yankees last night. Mike Trout got on base in the 9th and 11th, but was squandered. Thursday's starting pitcher Trevor Cahill, who came on in the 14th as a pinch hitter, struck out swinging to end the game. this team.
  5. Trust me, the Bruins sect in Boston has and always will have that vibe so long as the core is here. You’re right most of these guys weren’t here 8 years ago, but the primetime players were. They’ve shown the ability to not show up, and have done it too frequently in the biggest moments. I’ll spare you the list, but I’m sure @Brass can concur. As I said, it’s not at the level of Toronto. But this isn’t Dallas or Phoenix, these guys aren’t ‘relaxed’. Speaking of Dallas, is there a worse crowd in hockey? They almost put me to sleep last night - felt like a game in early October.
  6. Honest question for you: given the ebb and flow of design in general, what's your take on how long you think the gimmick name/concept in the minors will last? To me, at some point, the well is going to run dry for Brandiose as we'll be over-saturated with nonsensical food-related team names; multiple identities (which to me, dilute the actual identity) and ridiculously over-the-top gimmicks. I get that minor league baseball is supposed to be fun, but you can have fun without the multitude of 1980's WWF/WWE cartoon gimmicks.
  7. We're already at "Dallas or St. Louis will be in the West Final" something nobody would have said before the season, early in the season, midway through the season, or even late into the season. It was only in the final week or two that we got to that point. Same for Colorado having its shot. Top two seeds out. Pittsburgh and Nashville out. Three Game 7s on deck that could knock out Boston/Washington/San Jose/Vegas. It's already a postseason for the books.
  8. The New Orleans-based posters here (e.g., @B-Rich) would like to point out how it helped crater the former Zephyrs before their departure.
  9. I wouldn't hate that! The SOX monogram (is it a monogram, technically not right?) seems essential to the white pinstripes jersey but not so much on the black one.
  10. Any adidas school that didn't move over to the new template last year, maybe. I think Southern Miss will move over but not sure it will mean a change other than where the adidas logo goes and ditching the tire treads.
  11. That's my question as well. Brandiose seems too often like junk food, with an initial sugar rush of merch sales, but I wonder how long that boost lasts for most teams.
  12. Time to reduce my choices to the final 3 for this Cowboys concept... no more silver green, make things different... let grey be used on the road. HOME ROAD ALTERNATE ((THROWBACK))
  13. Today
  14. Gladly. It absolutely is. I think I’ll need an extra shower on Wednesday.
  15. Do you plan on doing defunct team as well? These look pretty good so far, but I would suggest using the team abbreviations from broadcasts rather than randomized ones.
  16. The Lockhart site needs serious help to be ready for next season, and legal issues only delay the short timeframe on the calendar. This was lockhart last month
  17. So, who do we have left now? Washington, Arizona, and who else?
  18. this is a huge upgrade for GC - i'm not a huge fan of the lioness' mouth...would have found a way to connect that more, but overall the new logo is a nice improvement for them - they don't seem to be embracing the new typeface on their website, though, which is a shame
  19. A Phillies design based on an upcoming @MJD7 design I was fortunate to preview among other outtakes.
  20. I think it made teams realize they could go off the beaten path and dramatically change their identity in more detailed/creative ways than just plopping logos and colors onto the newest template. I say it paid off because people for the most part love the unique Native pattern on the pants, the grey/neon green alts, and the overall bold branding. Projects like the Titans and Bucs wouldn't have been so drastically different without the Seahawks pushing the creativity to the next level. You can argue your personal preference on each of these as being good or bad looking, but ultimately my point was that they were the first team of the Nike era to work with Nike to push their identity to a clearly unique era rather than just retooling their previous look.
  21. Another round of outtakes including @coco1997's suggestions for a contrast bill Mariner's cap and a reverse colored Padres alt.
  22. I had a busy Holy Week and am in the middle of helping my parents pack everything for our move to Arizona so I'm really sorry I can't post as much as I want to. Here are the final headlines for this off-season. 1926-27 off-season headlines Canadian investors spur future name change American and Canadian investors headed by Montreal businessman Pierre Valjean persuaded association owners to consider changing the USFA name to the North American Football League if Canada we're to ever get a team. This change could take years and has caused speculation that the League of Canadian Football is struggling financially. The Italian Football Club folds Parishioners in Chicago's Italian community voted to cease operations of the IFC ahead of the 1927 season, stating that the money could be put to better use elsewhere in the community. St. Louis loses lease and becomes traveling team ahead of move to Hartford Minneapolis Maroons struggling to compete financially with cross river rival Hamm Brewers I'll try to get the 1927 season out today but I will have it done tomorrow if I get too busy. I have some big changes coming up these next few seasons
  23. With minor league baseball, you want short term. Long term is better set for the big leagues. The pros are Coke. The Minors are Sams Choice.
