i was thinking based on the history of Pawtucket and the State of Rhode Island ( birthplace of the industrial revolution in the states)

Pawtucket Millers

Pawtucket Industrials

Pawtucket Generals

Pawtucket Colonials

Pawtucket Revolutionaries

Pawtucket Americans

Pawtucket Rebels

Pawtucket Whigs

Rhode Island Millers

Rhode Island Industrials

Rhode Island Generals

Rhode Island Colonials

Rhode Island Revolutionaries

Rhode Island Americans

Rhode Island Rebels

Rhode Island Whigs

First thing that came to my head was Slaters Mill, Mills, Millers, Revolution, etc... Gotta play off the Pawtucket River.

I'll take Washington. I'm atrocious at team names, anyone got an idea for me?

Well it really depends on what city you want to base the team in. I would suggest Richmond, Virginia Beach, maybe Annapolis. Something to do with the Navy maybe? How 'bout Annapolis Arsenal?

Okay, here's the Milwaukee Wolfpack. The logo is basically a reworking of the Packers' "G" into an "M" that's also (roughly) the shape of a wolf's head. I also use the "G" itself as a chest patch.

Go! Pack! Go!

I like Richmond-- maybe the Richmond Rebels (as Capital of the CSA, but maybe too controversial) or the Richmond Revolution, Richmond Caps (taken from its nickname of Cap City)

But if you want to go with

VA Beach (good location!) you can try Hampton Roads Heathens! (totally kidding), Virginia Presidents (state known as the "Mother of Presidents"), yeah actually i can't think of any more.

Annapolis (I don't know if this would be the best because of the presence of the USNA football program): (I really like the Arsenal) Annapolis Admirals, Annapolis Sailors

Man i would love to do one of these, but i don't think i'll have time. I would've done an eagles one in the harrisburg/hershey area and they could play at hersheypark stadium. Maybe i'll try to do one anyway, but don't make it a definite.

And fishheatcats, the breakers concept is amazing.

I'll do Houston. Not sure of the city/identity yet, however.

Need help?

Galveston Storm (maybe too soon, but I'm referring to 1900, not Ike, but i guess it's hard to explain that)

Baytown Racers (reference to the raceway)

Baytown Industrials

Sugar Land Imperials (reference to Imperial Sugar Co.)

hahah I actually thought of this idea a few days ago. I even made a league with a few members(see sig). But I'm in.

Las Vegas Aces- Chargers

Here are the logos, and jerseys I made for my league

Logos

...

Jerseys

^^^I might change the jerseys to reflect the Chargers jerseys

You should also change them to not have Nike logos on the front...

Updated

I also have some cities that we could use.

Shreveport- Saints

Memphis- Titans

Columbia, SC- ???

Orlando- Bucs

Louisville- Colts

Raleigh- Panthers

Connecticut- Giants, Jets

Birmingham- Falcons

LA- Raiders

San Antonio- Texans

Portland- Seahawks

San Jose- 49ers

Hawaii- ???

Salt Lake City- Denver

I don't think Columbia or Hawaii would be good- Columbia because of USC's presence (Charleston might be nice, though) and Hawaii because it's just too far out of the way, and they have the UH in Honolulu.

So here?s how I would set the league up:

-32 Teams, one affiliate for each NFL team, each based in the general area of the NFL team. Example: Miami?s team could be based in Naples or West Palm Beach, areas that already have Dolphins fans, but because of travel times never get to see live games.

-Teams divided into 4 8-team divisions based on geographical location: North, South, East and West.

-Teams play only within their divisions(to ease travel costs), home/away, for a 14 game season. The 4 division winners enter a playoff to determine the champion.

<snip>

For fun, once every team is done, we?ll have a vote to see who everyone thinks is the best. I guess you could call this a semi-contest, but really I just wanted to outsource the other 31 teams to see what a NFL minor league could look like.

Since you went to the trouble of describing the season/playoff structure for us, why not do the voting based on it as well? That is, have four separate 8-way polls for each division, then two "semifinal" polls among the four division winners, and then finally a "Reserve Bowl" (or whatever you propose to call the championship game) poll to decide the championship?

That's not a bad idea. Once we get all 32 teams done that seems like the perfect way to pick a winner.

PhilliesPhan1325, I've gone ahead and reserved the Eagles' affiliate for you. Since there really is no time limit, whenever everyone gets done is when we'll do the voting. Whenever you can find the time to do it is fine.

Also I'm digging the Wolfpack set! The uniforms are a bit plain, but I absolutely love the concept behind the name(which I didn't get until the Go! Pack! Go! remark, now I feel slow lol)

Thank you. The plain uniforms are actually intentional. One, the Packers' uniforms themselves are a bit plain (in a timeless kind of way, of course). Two, this is a minor league we're talking about, and it feels wrong to make minor league unis that are fancier than the parent club's.

How about Long Island for the Giants and Bridgeport, CT for the Jets?

Honestly, I would think the other way around. When I lived in LI, all my friends were Jets fans (and by association, so was I, because i was a 14-year-old girl who did everything her friends did), and my cousins live in Westport, CT (somewhat close to B-port) and everyone in their town is supposedly a hardcore Giants fan.

ps- I'm still a girl, I'm just not 14 anymore :P
