dgnmrwrw
Well, after tinkering with some other alternate options (including red), I've decided that I'm sticking with what I've got. I'm kind of fond of it, and it's gotten enough positive feedback that I feel comfortable leaving it as is. I still don't agree that using the alternate logo with some chest stripes automatically makes a design "crappy retro." But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just really liked that logo for the alternate, and the stripes just sort of evolved that way.Next concept up momentarily... dgnmrwrw
#10: Dallas StarsI wanted to give the Stars a slight update/modernization. So I kept the basic shape and angle of the star, but turned it into a stylized sheriff's (or ranger's) badge with a D in the middle. It's worth noting that I had changed the color of the gold to more of a gold/copper mix, but that got lost in translation from Illustrator to Photoshop to .png format. (I had a similar issue with the Ducks' color and a color on another team I'm currently working on) I haven't yet decided if I even want to try fixing it, because I'm happy with how it looks now. For the shoulder logo, I had started doing this overly complicated longhorn logo, but nixed it in favor of an updated version of their old Texas logo. I also gave the Stars an updated typeface that's used throughout the identity.I really like the striping pattern on the sleeves of the Stars' current Edge uniforms, so I used that as a starting point for the home and away jerseys. I did go back to green as the primary color with black relegated to a secondary color. For the alternate jersey, I went back to one of my favorite jerseys of all time, their original black jersey, for heavy inspiration. I gave them a descending "DALLAS" type logo for a few reasons: first, it's an homage to a team that has consistently used type-heavy or type-only logos on their jerseys; and also, I really like the way the city name looks in that typeface. jchockey
Loved the Columbus alt, not many teams can incorporate stars and look good, but you pulled it off for sure. For the most part I like the Stars concept, but for the shoulder logo why not change the colours on the home jersey? I've played around with a few Stars concepts myself, and I find that a green patch gets lost on a green sleeve. If you could maybe invert the colours it'll stand out more? And maybe add a little green to the primary logo too? Perhaps even just making the background oval or the black space surrounding the D green I think might add a little more colour, since you said you're making green the new primary again. I also love the alternate, that Stars black jersey you based it off of is one of my favourites too. However, Maybe try making the Dallas script bigger by stretching it vertically? I find there's a little too much empty space on the top and bottom of the jersey and the simple design sort of clashes with the more intricate, tri-coloured shoulder logo. TML13
i'd say if you kept the green in the cicle behind the logo full time. and and used the same black/gold/green/gold/black striping from the home on the away(just change the main jersey color from green to white and leave all the arm and waist striping the same)as for the alt make Dallas bigger.oh and what if you made the Captains C and the A's gold(sort of like a sheriffs badge idea) ~Sign the Petition, Join on Facebook, Follow on Twitter~
ColeJ
i'd love the green jersey if it had more white in it. i think that having white included in the striping of dark jerseys really adds to the depth of it, and helps tie it in with the light/away jerseys.the third doesn't do much for me, as i prefer the arched DALLAS from our current home/third over the rangers diagonal script.either way, enjoyable concept. Bmac
CBJ looks great. The home and road look ok, but maybe a little bland for this specific team. I would like to see more stars. With that said, I love the alternate! The stripes are cool and I love the stars. The Stars set looks really good. That new logo looks great. The home and road look prefect. I love the striping pattern you used. That alternate jersey is just sweet. My favorite part about this concpet is that diagonal Dallas script. I love the font you used and the way that script looks. Still MIGHTY
On the logo, either keep the green in the circle or change the black star to green or bothAdd some smaller white stripes on the homeStretch out the Dallas on the altand you've got an absolute winner | ANAÂ | LAA | LARÂ | LAL | ASU | CSULB |Â USMNTÂ | USWNT |Â LAFCÂ | OCSC |Â MAN UTDÂ |

Also, maybe make the middle stripe white to match the stars? Also, the Stars concept is VERY sharp.I love your work dgnmrwrw, I wish I had half the talent of yours

dgnmrwrw
Thanks for the feedback. The Stars have been updated; you can see the small changes on the previous page. I made the interior star green, and elongated the "DALLAS" diagonal script.I didn't change any of the stripes because my love for the way they were used was my basis for the whole jersey.Next team up soon. Patchey13
My only real complaint here is that the colours seem very drab on the jerseys.
Stampman
An overall comment on these designs--I think any team wanting a new third jersey in the future should consider these designs. That's been the strength of these designs--the thirds. They are weird for the sake of being weird, or different for the sake of being different. They don't look thrown together. They looked planned and they fit the teams. Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."
dgnmrwrw
#11: Detroit Red WingsOnly minor tweaks to the classic logo and wordmark. I simplified the details on the feathers and made them more consistent; simplified the curved highlights on the left side of the wheel; eliminated one of the concentric circles from the wheel; and added a silver outline to both the logo (replaces a red outline) and the wordmark. I intended for the silver to be very shiny (not dull gray); on the uniforms this could be produced using a shiny material like the Hurricanes use. I wanted it to feel more like the chrome from a classic car than just silver. The home and away uniforms are also very slightly altered: the stripes now have a very thin silver outline, as do the numbers. This would, I think, give them just a touch of depth. The alternate uniform is based on their Winter Classic throwback. I kept the blackletter D and gave them big white stripes flanked by silver stripes on the chest, arms, and socks. For the shoulder logo, I made a new flying falcon. I like it because it can be both a new representation of what a "Red Wing" is and it's a nod to the old Detroit Falcons days. Still MIGHTY
DamnThat Detroit third jersey is SHARP!I LOVE IT!One of the best you've done. If I didn't hate the ever-living crap out of the Detroit Red Wings, I'd buy one And I love the idea for the silver trim, it's too bad it doesnt translate well to an illustration, but the picture in my mind of it is great. Gives a little more character to an otherwise bland jersey. And I like the small simplifications in the primary. As always, great work | ANAÂ | LAA | LARÂ | LAL | ASU | CSULB |Â USMNTÂ | USWNT |Â LAFCÂ | OCSC |Â MAN UTDÂ |
elliott
Meh, it's silver for the sake of silver, it doesn't bring much to the design, and it's barely noticable. If it was separated in the style of the alternate, where you could actually see it, it would be much better. Dribbble ... Behance
Bmac
I love it! A great modification of a classic team. I really love that 3rd jersey too. Great job! https://www.behance.net/bmatukewic8043
jeh-see
I did a Red Wings concept about 10 years back that included silver as well, my theory was for it to represent the Stanley Cups the team had won (I had used silver striping, much like the old Blues uni that had the gold pinstripes), one for ever one of the, at the time, ten Stanley Cups. As a die-hard Red Wings fan, and have been since 88-89 (sorry, Still MIGHTY), I wanted them to adopt this past season's Winter Classic jersey as an alternate for this upcoming season anyway, so what you've done with it is very nice. I like the falcon shoulder logo, but I don't know if anyone under the age of 70 or an avid fan of Red Wings history would understand its meaning. Great job.UJ
