leggman01
i'm working on a logo for one of the teams in my fantasy football league and this is the first draft of the bear...the owner would like it to look "older and more fierce" - i'm open to suggestions and comments as this is my first draft - i do have some ideas that i'll be incorporating (and will post when i get a chance to work on it)
andrewharrington
The face is small. Adult bears have larger more round faces. They eyes are where you lack ferocity. I still don't have a website, but I have a dribbble now! http://dribbble.com/andyharry [The postings on this site are my own and do not necessarily represent the position, strategy or opinions of adidas and/or its brands.]
footballfiji
Maybe slope the forehead down a bit and add some "gruff" to the sides like the MO State bear: Plainsman Parking Lot. Auburn Baseball Blog

Agreed.Make the face more like a human scowling.http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?lo=4674And bear's heads are rounder. fonz
Sharpen the brow and eye area. Use a more slanted look to convey anger.
leggman01
thanks for the suggestions - making the jowl area larger and working on the brow were the two main area's i was already focusing on, so this affirmation that i'm on the right track helps tremendously
zman65
The brow! The brow!Indeed, the eyebrows (as well as a "fuller" face) will make all the difference here.
leggman01
the brow is still a work in progress...it's better, but i'm not entirely happy with itdoes the face look better?
Mings
Getting there, I would go rounder though. Give the face some mass like a huge bear. Besides that it is getting pretty close. Work on the brow some more, and go with a darker green.
Scott_Cackett
i think it would look better if the eyes wer slanted a bit to match the angry expression of the eye brows. also protrude the cheeks a little so it looks like he has just eaten a box of snickers' Check out my designs or email me at scottcackett2@yahoo.com
ltravisjr
I would enlarge the ears a bit, too.LT
BuddyLane
Here's a few pointers:1. Make the eyes more bold, thicken and darken2. Make the nose more wrinkled - bears have very fierce faces when they are attacking.3. Round the face more and remove the lines you used to make the head wider. I think if you work on those three areas your bear will be awsome.
Korkie
My high school was the Bears. Here is their bear head logo. Hopefully it may help as a reference. leggman01
updated eyes and brow and made the face less "lumpy"still working on the brow and "wrinkled nose", but thought i'd post the updates to see if they improve the logo
rtrich11
Still getting there. Listen to what the others are saying about the rounded face, though. Look at how close your bear's eyes are to the ears then look at the Baylor bear above it. Look at the other examples, too. The relationship between eyes/nose/mouth is all fine. It's that the shape of the head on the sides isn't wide or "rounded" enough, especially from the eyes. Just needs a little more. cafepress.com/artbyrichards
Mings
Roughen the edges to signify fur as well. That will also help with ferociousness.
leggman01
fat enough for ya? also, is this snout/eye treatment better?i know there are some lines that need to be cleaned up and evened out in both, and i'll do that before a final version
