My (Personal) Football League Redesign

(I do realize that some logos are mock-ups of other teams, but remember those were my FIRST, I have my own original logos now. Also, some teams probably have no relations with the city they represent, but thats okay. )

Hey everybody. I've came across some amazing concepts while coming across this board and joining the past summer. Being an avid fan of this board, I posted my first concept on the computer in June. I've loved making logos since I was about 10, and since then I've always drawn my concepts on paper. I created my first Personal Football League on paper and have decided to stick with the teams I've created, and only altered them a little bit (the logos I've made are obviously not the ones I made when I was 10; I've progressed ). Some of the teams have no relation with the team name and city, instead I've just decided to stick with them, and some may be similar to defunct teams (I hadn't known this at the time), and I've thought it be cool if I adopted some of the names. As of now, I have about 25/32 teams put together on paper, already. And then, a couple weeks ago, a friend told me about Inkscape, and it all just took off from there. I recently got the hang of it, this being my first real try at Inkscape. Below is the list of teams I'm doing in this thread. The teams with asterisks are ones that you guys can suggest better names for:

Next up: #2 Washington Knights

This team was particularly one of my favorites, because ideas came to my mind like that. Since Florida is a coastal state, I decide to go with an ocean-like them, thus creating a shark concept. Now, for the primary, I have a yellowish gold shark leaping in air, I've used this for the shoulder logo and the helmet logo (drawing). As for the secondary, a drew a gold shark fin from the shark, nothing groundbreaking here (drawing). I used this on the pants above the stripe. The script is 'Sharks' in athletic gold with a wavelike pattern within the lettering. Now, to the uniforms:

The "8" is a little awkward but overall I think it's a pretty good concept. I've got my own league too

Also, something with the shark looks a little awkward, I think it may be the way the highlights are applied on it. Someone with more talent however could maybe tell you how to do it

nice job. i like how you carried the stripe design throughout the helmet, jersey, and pants. it carries nicely through the entire uniform.

Thanks guys, yeah the '8' does look a little weird, I think I misjudged something while tracing. I'm also going to post up the original drawings when I get the chance. I'll try and make new teams weekly.

The shark seems too glossy. It looks a little odd.

Overall however, I really like the uniforms a lot. The colors, design, everything.

I think the uniforms are very nice. The shark does need a little work, but it is a great start to the set.

Like others said that 8 is awkward, but the rest of the concept is really nice. That color combination is one of my favorites.

I can't help but think of the Rays with that color scheme. Maybe you should try some different shades of blue and ditch the athletic gold altogether. Otherwise, it's a nice concept.

I have some updates: Home, Away, Alternate, Pants (same as before)

-fixed the eight, hopefully it fixed the problem

-Added tv numbers on the sleeves

For the logos: Primary, Secondary, Script (same as before)

-Fixed the shark's tail, I felt it was too small

-fixed the highlights,hopefully eliminated the glossy look

-Gave both logos a thicker blue outline

Still waiting on some more comments for the Sharks, but I thought I'd go ahead and post.

#2 Washington Knights

Up Next: #3 Cleveland Bandits

First off, new color scheme: charcoal, soft gold, and light royal blue. I used the blue sparingly in the logos, and the only real reason that blue is in this color scheme is because the first concept included the blue, and I felt that it looked pretty decent, but only needed a few tweaks. I went with a more 'knightly' theme here, including a shield/coat of arms, a sword and a knight. The primary is a golden knight with white highlights with royal blue feathers. The secondary features a two toned(yes, two toned. The only reason I really used it here was to mimic the armor) W for Washington with a knight sword behind it. The script is in the same style as the secondary, without the sword. The tertiary, used on the pants, features a coat of arms type logo: a shield featuring the flag of Maryland and a silhoette of the Capitol building in front of two crossing swords. The uniforms haven't really changed, except for a number font change.

you know what the best part of these uniforms are so far? they are simple, but dynamic. I hate seeing all these college teams trying to 1-up each other with all these outrageous new designs.

the only think i could thing to change is on the first uniform with the shark logo. i love the colors, but the shark on the helmet seems to be a bit to much with how the tail is curved in. i still looks great, but it just seems a little cluttered on the helmet.

can't wait to see more.

EDIT: No gray pants for a third pant color for the Knights?

I see. I originally had the fin logo, but I really like the looks of the helmet with the shark

No, I didn't add gray pants. It looked too forced, white makes the set 'pop' to me.

i like it, but i think it may be a little too cluttered. I was thinking something along the lines of WK staggered off one another:
