But I think people should stop worrying about whether a school would actually wear, and instead, focus on being creative. There is no such thing as being different for the sake of being different, because the entire point if for it to be different

In all fairness to Tim, this line of thought is the way most sportswear marketing companies operate, and it's the chief reason most football uniforms blow in this day and age. Maybe it's fun to be creative every now and again when designing a uniform, but at the end of the day, the uniform serves a purpose and carries the baggage of history with it, which is why I think Tim is choosing to be a bit more realistic with his designs. If you were tasked with designing new dress for your local police department, you're probably not going to be getting too creative with it because the police uniform serves a specific purpose, and there is a historical precedent for what a police uniform looks like. A football uniform is no different. You have to combine those two important characteristics with a bit of fashion sensibility and a little creativity to come up with something compelling and respectful of the team's history.

See, that might be your opinion, but that's not a fact. Plus, those companies have to face real life consequences for what they design. If you make an all pink Penn State look, you'll get a lot of weird looks from people on this board, but really, who are you hurting? Don't be scared to be unrealistic, because we don't care if it is or not.

Today, for you, MSU:

Michigan State's current uniform set has all the accoutrement of a hastily done 'modern' uniform: Stupid font, useless stripes and colors out of the color scheme. I go back to only green and white. I do like the idea of very wide stripes on the helmets and pants so I added those (although the Home Alt gets rid of those for a more traditional look).

The Road Alts are fairly similar to the regular Road uni but the first is based off of this image and the other just uses green pants.

Same problem as last time. You did almost nothing. In fact, the one thing that was unique about MSU's uniforms (the font) is the one thing you took away. Didn't you say you were going to be more daring with this concept?

As an MSU fan, these are just 'blah'. Yes, we have tradition-- that's in the colors and the generally conservative approach to uniforms-- but these are just like a mashed-up version of a bunch of old looks. And honestly, the source uniform you used to make these was one of our less-than-stellar looks, IMO. The typeface we use now has much more character, and I think by taking that away, you just made our uniforms super-generic and, dare I say, almost boring.

Also, are there two helmets, or did you just miss one of them? Another technical 'flaw' if you will: the collars look really weird, might want to look at the folds and angles on the fabric.

There are two helmets, that is a 'throwback' helmet for the 'throwback' feel uni.

As for the collar, they could be better but I go with the seam in the template for the most part.

Naw. There's research to back this up.

Today we see som major change in the land of a thousand lakes: Minnesota

Minnesota's current unis are terrible. I return the Golden Gophers to a much more traditional look and give them a unique asymmetrical sleeve stripe based on their mascot. Even if players lose the compression shirts, the uniform doesn't lose much. If they do wear the compressions shirt, those gophers will look fantastic.

Whats the intent behind the one sleeve design?

Based off the mascot. I really don't mean for this to come off as an attack, but do you have any imagination? If that's what you call "major changes", well then no wonder all of these have been boring.

It's Multiple monday as I feature both NU's:

Nebraska - Nebraska hardly changes, although their current sleeve stripes appear much larger than my version. And if you're gunna call the defense the Blackshirts, they might as well wear black (under)shirts.

Northwestern - I ditch black pants, recolor the Northwestern sleeve stripes (which are now on the compression shirt) and return the logo to the shoulders. The pants are double striped and while I bring back the BFBS Home Alt, I would keep its use to a minimum.

If his concepts bother you so much, stop looking at them, rather than being a trolling d-bag padding your post count.

So what, I can't tell him what I think of his concepts? I just feel like they lack any sort of creativity what so ever. Indiana's pants were great, but other than that, nothing has stood out of creative at all, which is a problem on a concepts board. I'm not the only one who thinks this.

Also, you didn't use the word trolling right. Do you even know what a troll looks like?

I agree that these aren't the most imaginative concepts in the world, but they're concepts none the less. Things like this are not the problem in the concepts forum; these are well executed, neat concepts. There are obvious changes, and while they might not be as creative as you'd like them to be, they're still creative.

You didn't said anything about the concepts, you questioned his imagination. Be constructive with your criticism or stfu.

Dude, you're free to give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Telling him that he has no imagination and all his concepts suck isn't constructive in the slightest. Make suggestions for HOW he can fix his concepts, or simply don't post.

You could even politely say "I am not seeing a lot of interesting changes here...maybe you could try to go out on more of a limb for a couple of teams." But to say "I really don't mean for this to come off as an attack," right before an attack...come on.

One key change you have is in the Northwestern primaries. I'd love for them to drop black. I know, I know, you can't just have purple and not add black...well I think you can and I think the primaries look great. I'd rather see only purple trim on the white road uniforms and, of course, no black alt. The home uniform is just how NU should look.

Disclaimer: If this comment is about an NBA uniform from 2017-2018 or later, do not constitute a lack of acknowledgement of the corporate logo to mean anything other than "the corporate logo is terrible and makes the uniform significantly worse."
