  2. If we want to go old school, AAO, RogerClemente and Discrimihater had some absolute stellar concepts all around in the mid-2000s.

  3. The concepts world is changing and growing every day, this is going to be an ever-growing Academy of concept artists. GFB and I drew heavy inspiration from the Academy Awards for this concept. It's meant to highlight the best of the best, selected by the best. // GUIDELINES // Recipients of the prestigious Creamer Award will be measured against the following guidelines: Quality over Quantity (10 exceptional concepts are better than 95 standard concepts)Original IdeasDeep and Well Rounded (does the concept go above and beyond?)Concept Originated on or near the CCSLCNone of these criteria are impossible by any means, but they will require dedication, innovation, and a certain "x-factor" that is not found commonly in concepts. // AWARDS // On an ongoing basis, we will be awarding 7 awards per year: Best Overall ConceptBest (Individual Sport) ConceptBest Concept SeriesRookie Of The YearMost ImprovedMost Helpful C&C GiverBest New TemplateMembers winning Creamer Awards will receive their own award photo for use in their signature/avatar, as well as a permanent link commemorating their victory, listed below. // HALL OF FAME & THE ACADEMY // The Academy (or Hall of Fame) will be selected by the panel on an annual basis. This will include 3 users and 5 concepts every year, as well as the one member and concept that won Best Concept. Each panel member will nominate their top 10, and we'll use a reverse point system to determine the top 3 members and top 5 concepts for that year's enshrinement. In addition to being inducted into The Academy, these users will be allowed to vote on future ballots for The Creamers. // THE PANEL // Nominations and voting will be handled by a panel consisting of the following community members: drdougfresh - Doug HouvenerGFB - Matt KauzlarichCJWorks - CJ Zilligenraysox - Michael Taylormattwillcox - Matt Willcoxcreativelysain - Jordan Sain // THE MISSION // I have no doubt that many of us (if not a majority) found and joined this forum because of the concepts section. We've learned from it, been frustrated by it, been inspired by it, and been disappointed by it. It's been the springboard for several people's careers, reignited others' design passions, and even taught several people new skills. It's a rare cache of creative activity and feedback, and it's something that we need to nurture, or it's going to continue to decline in health. These awards are a way to create something for new and established artists to compete for, to aspire to, and to be proud of. It is my hope that the community will openly compete for these awards, and hold them in high regard. There are 12 Inaugural Creamer Award Recipients, listed below. These are concepts and threads hand-picked by GFB and I to represent the best overall body of work, and serve as a general guideline for the standard of excellence The Creamers dictate. We don't want people rushing their concepts, trying to sneak in under-the-wire to make the awards. In fact, we're hoping for the exact opposite, that this causes the artists of this forum to slow down and really dive into their concepts. We're trying to recognize the artists and members who go above and beyond, even when there wasn't seemingly an award for it. // PREVIOUS WINNERS // 2014 Awards Ceremony Best Concept // drdougfresh - 2013 NCFA Media Guide // Best Individual Concept // mcrosby - Navy Midshipmen Logo // Best Concept Series // raysox - US Soccer 2030 // Most Improved // CAB - Sample // Rookie of the Year // Daniel_Ramone93 - Sample // Best C&C // BrandMooreArt // Best New Template // Jayjackson3 -- “New Baseball Template” // 2015 Awards Ceremony Best Concept // drdougfresh - 2014 NCFA Media Guide // Best Individual Concept // AndrewHarrington - For the Pittsburgh People // Best Concept Series // TheOneAndOnlyMau - NCFA Nike Pursuit Series // Most Improved // JCRGraphix - Sample // Rookie of the Year // McElroy19 - Sample // Best C&C // MBannon92 // Best New Template // TheOneAndOnlyMau - “Riddell Speed Flex Helmet” //

  7. If there was a Creamer for the best The Creamers branding then you'd have my nomination. Great job setting this up Doug and Matt!

  9. It's not "just awards." It's a thread and concept dedicated to enshrining and awarding the best of the best. The initial 12 were the starting base that Matt and I felt needed to be enshrined. Going forward, 7 people a year will be selected as winners to join those 12 as winners of The Creamer Award. The Academy (or Hall of Fame) will be selected by the panel on an annual basis. This will include 3 users and 5 concepts every year, as well as the one member and concept that won Best Concept. Each panel member will nominate their top 10, and we'll use a reverse point system to determine the top 3 members and top 5 concepts for that year's enshrinement. Again, for starters, we've enshrined the recipients of the first Creamer Awards. If you read the OP, the Academy and Award Winners are spelled out pretty clearly.

  12. You concepts don't suck, they blow. JK, your NFL concepts need to be more original and not just a copy and paste 32 times.

  13. I think this is such a great thing. The talent level of the designers here, especially the award recipients, is utterly amazing. I always look forward to coming to this site and seeing what new creations and artistry that is on display. My most humble congratulations to the charter award winners and in my best Wayne and Garth impersonation, "I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy! I suck!!" Maybe one day they'll add a Best Use Of MS Excel Award then I could be in contention. Outside of that I'll just marvel at everyone else's talents.

  17. Holy Doodle... I'm away on holidays, so I've been off the grid for a few days. I found some wi-fi this morning, logged in and WHAM... I'm very honoured and very grateful. This is an ambitious, well thought-out, and so far very well crafted concept. I'm gonna put the avatar in place when I get home and will be wearing it proudly. Thanks again guys.

  18. This may be the coolest thing I've ever seen. Love all the work going into this. I have a feeling you're going to make the concepts section a place where people strive to make great work again.

  21. I actually made three. First is obviously, a recolor of the team's colors which emphasizes more on a Yellow/White scheme with red baseline. Second is a take on their classic logo, which apparently has the Yellow/Red color scheme in it. Lastly, I decided to add black to give some 'Atlanta Hawks-feel' to it. I think it looks good. The court itself. (P.S. I am not really the type of guy who would explain to you steps and all stuff, but I'll give it a try. The images can also help you as well.) First, crop the biggest portion of the floor that has the full herringbone in it, where no logos are being placed on it. Usually, I crop the parts that are placed before the center court line, as seen through the picture below : The black outline that is placed on the court is the one that I cropped. After that, I 'd put the cropped herringbone floor on a rectangle that is measured (kinda) similar to the court per se. I place them first at the upper leftmost part of the court. The next thing you will do is to copy the same picture and place it beside the portion that was previously covered, repeat the steps until you achieve a look like this: As for everything else, grab a clean-looking NBA floor from Weatherman's stuff, 'magic erase' all the floor parts and paste it on the blank template and do basic PS stuff when possible.

  22. There are always snubs guys, besides great leagues like these only come out every once in a while Although, I'll give y'all a list of leagues I think should deserve some future consideration: - pcgd's America League - Raysox's US Soccer 2030 - GotPixels's NFL 40/NFL2 - HVF's MLF Also, can a mod pin this? I think it would definitely be useful pinned and not falling into the hole of dead concepts.
