  3. Let's do it! Logos -I decided to make the primary their alternate logo from '94-'02. It's unique, creative, still fits in the brand, and looks fittingly like a sheriff's badge. -Some people don't seem to like the Rangers switching between red and blue, but I don't mind, as long as they keep good balance. I decided to keep both the red and blue hats, as well as both jerseys. -Yes, every jersey says "Texas." None of the "Rangers" wordmarks had two outlines like I would've wanted. However, I did something on the uniforms that might sort of make up for it... -The away has a slight brown/dust-colored tint to it, using the shades seen in the primary logo. It gives more of a Western/worn-out feel to the uniform, while not being too radical a change. Uniforms -A lot of teams have patches on their sleeves, either to showcase a certain logo or to commemorate an event. However, I have also seen some teams put patches on their chest, above the wordmark, on occasion. In making this, I figured why not take that idea to the next level, and put the primary logo as a patch not on the sleeve, but on the heart, in order to mimic an actual sheriff's badge? (As a little bonus, since the primary patch says "Rangers," that gives good reason to have the jerseys say "Texas," so there is no redundancy.) -The two stripes on the sleeves have been separated to mimic the wordmarks. -As long as all of the accessories match, they can be worn with any jersey. Personally, I think a red hat/undershirt/belt/socks with the blue jersey combo could be unique to the Rangers and look good as well. Any comments on the Rangers would be appreciated! Or if you want to comment on the Rays or anything else, that's cool too!

  4. I'm not sure about what happens to the Thunder, either the NHL team boosts the Sonic's chances of moving, or it deters them from the area, Anyway lets get to the concept I named the team the OKC Cowboys and used the crimson and cream (not the exact shades) and orange from Oklahoma State

  6. The Texans use too much navy, and while I would still prefer a white helmet, a red one wouldn't be too bad.

  8. It was almost fair enough to have the banners with the old team's logo. Now this is just sad.

  11. Thanks! It's true that the design it's similar to the Mets style, but I just used their current secondary logo in the alternate colours, but in a brighter shade

  13. Alright well here's a full update with the new logos, the only real change so far being the alternate jersey. I'm ready to post the Rangers whenever!

  14. Kansas should have never ditched their look from the 2007 season. Florida really needs to go back to their previous number font. Their current numbers look really cheap. Virginia Tech really should have worn their school colors last night. Speaking of which. The Bristol Motor Speedway looked good watching the game on TV. However I am convinced most of the fans in attendance didn't have a good view of the field. Venues can actually be too big for an event. I personally feel football stadiums shouldn't exceed 80K seat capacity.

  17. I forget to mention this in my original feedback on the Rays, but I agree with @Paul Lucas that at least one of those jerseys should probably say "TAMPA" or "TB" on it.

  19. You and @Carolingian Steamrollerhave really done the Astros proud. Honestly, great work, Gentlemen. If they implemented either set (or some combination of both like CS's H/R and your alts), I'd be elated.

  20. Than you guys for the positive feedback! I've edited the blue gradient, does it look any better? The designs have been updated, featuring now the numbers. Given the navy uniform is the alt road one, how about using the Houston wordmark for it?

  21. For what it's worth, I would have gone for the PAT instead of the two. I disagree with your assertion that it was a dumb call. You, more than most folks here, ought to know that every football team practices 2-point conversions (and goal line situations) multiple times in practice every day, every week. If a team feels more confident that they can get the 2-pointer than the randomness of OT, is it really a dumb move to go with what you're more confident with? Plus, there's the rationale of "attack them again after you just struck a deflating blow to them". BYU's coach was hoping to catch Utah at the moment when their heads were hanging down, having just given up the touchdown that could have tied the game with under a minute to go. And don't think there wasn't Utah coaches and players having a few seconds of "Holy crap, BYU's going for 2?! What to do...what to do....ummm...ok, this" just after BYU finished celebrating the score. How experienced is BYU's kicker in game-tying situations? (According to Yahoo, their kicker is a true freshman.) What I do know is BYU has a senior QB. Perhaps the coaching staff has more confidence in a senior QB than a kicker playing his second college game. If the 2-point percentage is higher than the road team's OT record percentage, BYU's coach is merely "playing the percentages". If the winning percentage is higher than the 2-point conversion rate, BYU's coach is "going against the grain and trying to catch the opponent off-guard". Whether they make it or not, it's still a ballsy move. This can be said before the play and after the play. A play isn't considered "dumb" until it's already played out. You may have a hunch or you may not have made that call, but how can anyone logically call a play "dumb" if something hadn't yet happened? The execution of the play was awful. I've only seen the play one time, but it looked line the O-line got blown up right at the snap. The QB was scrambling as soon as his drop-back ended.

  22. I wouldn't mind that red helmet and jersey over current white pants. At least they would stand out and not just be another navy over navy team.

  26. A gentleman e-mailed me asking if his son's team could use the "Aces" logo and wordmark for their uniforms. I changed the A-star to a baseball, extended some of the wing stripes to the ball (like motion lines), and converted to their team colours. They (whoever "they" are) did a fantastic job on the uniforms. Have a great season guys!...

  27. WHoa... what a weird name for a league. Whatssup here? A. There was an actual Southern California Trolley League. .... that lasted like 22 minutes in 1910. The name initially made me think the league was affiliated with a rail system; It wasnt, but i was intrigued.... so i will make it so. B. The Pacific Electric Co. would have done this. Profits came from the owners routing rail lines through their land holdings to facilitate their development. Passenger service alone never made a profit. Creating a sports league to provide attractions along PE routes would encourage development and fill the red cars on match days. C. Some of ye might remember this wackadoodle topic of mine. I got bored. The concepts and presentation were pretty weaksauce too. _____________________________________________________________________ Pacific Electric Football League Weeeeee!! League setup in the inaugural year 1910. Football clubs dot the PE routes. Los Angeles FC Santa Monica FC Pasadena FC Long Beach FC Santa Ana FC Redondo Beach FC

  28. These are my ideas for what the Centennial classic jerseys will look like. Toronto: Classic double stripes on sleeves and hem Triple stripes on the socks Vintage tan pants Centennial anniversary patch on shoulder Similar yoke to the one used for the 2014 winter classic Detroit: I liked the color-on-color match-up for the 2014 winter classic, so I used a red jersey. Simple striping pattern reflects older jerseys Old style logo gives jerseys a vintage look I tried to include elements from old Cougars and Falcons jerseys into the striping Arched Nameplate from current jerseys C&C is appreciated!

  31. Well, I finished the Yankees about 2 days after I posted the Red Sox, and then I forgot to post it. It's sad, I know, but on with #3 BLASPHEMY (NEW YORK YANKEES) HOME AWAY HOME CREAM/BLACK ALT AWAY PINSTRIPED ALT BATTING PRACTICE Once again a simple set, but what am I supposed to do to the Yanks? Home stays unchanged, while the away loses the white outline and cuff striping, with a grey NY on the cap. The home alternate goes way back to when the Yankees were using black instead of navy, with a pinstriped cap, nothing on the front of the uniform, and a number on the back. I went with cream to give it a vintage feel. The away alternate goes with pinstripes. The BP is navy with grey numbers and sleeves, with pinstripes in the side panels. The cap is mainly navy with a white front panel with pinstripes in it, with a grey bill. Next, we head to the Rays, who will be undergoing several changes. (No, it's not green) C&C is always appreciated!

  32. Gorgeous work! The tequila sunrise on the wordmarks looks simply fantastic. I agree with @rsaline that the blue "moonrise" pattern doesn't work as well, but otherwise great job. This is a great teaser for your full MLB Series (though I do hope you decide to finish your Premier League series, too).

  33. I prefer visors. Not only do they look cool, they also provide some additional protection. I had a clear visor in high school to keep fingers and debris out of my eyes because I wore contacts. I honestly don't know why any football player would play without at least a clear visor on. It seems like a necessary protection thing.

  36. I'll take your word for it, but the official city seal is not round, although there have been round versions used in the past. Also, look at the date at the bottom - no motto banner. That's one difference on the flag version of the city seal, and the dead giveaway when somebody cribs the image off Wikipedia. When did did you buy that flag? The city used a version for a while in the 1980s and early 1990s that were different yet - the shield at the center was dark blue, not white. Those turn up from time to time as well. And frankly, the fact that there is such confusion is reason enough to change the flag. Love the tricolor, either fly it unadorned or give it a more iconic symbol.

  37. What if there is no USFL in the 80's? The NFL could have had these cities have teams that start play in 1986: 1. Phoenix: They had a group that formed in 1984. They were going to call the team the Firebirds. Thomas Stoen would have been the owner, and ex-Packer legend Bart Starr was going to be the HC. 2. Indianapolis: In an alternate world, they don't find out about the eminent domain case from the state, so the team is seized before they can leave town. That finally gets Pete Rozelle's attention, and a compromise is worked out. The Irsay's get an expansion team in Indy, and the Colts get to stay in Baltimore.

  38. Lambeau Field is never built and the packers move to Milwaukee In 1957 I chose a M with serifs because it kind of says Milwaukee more to me. In 1988 the Shoulders are changed and and the TV numbers are moved above them. Following some successful exhibition games, The Sox move to Wisconsin full time and become the Wisconsin White Sox and The Seattle Pilots stay in Seattle The Home jersey is the same from one used in the 50s (except the cap) but on the away, there is a scripted "Wisconsin". Ignore that it says 1968 there. In 1976 the set is almost the same as the ones in the 80s except on the away jersey, It reads "Wisconsin" instead In 1991, the interlocking sox isn't used and they stay with the logo set they were using, but the color scheme is still intact. I decided to use the black jerseys at home.

  39. Up first, the updated Kings set. The crest is combines the shape of the early alternate logos (1967-75) and the current primary (2010-present) with the colors of the Gretzky logo (1988-98) and the original crown (1967-88). The set follows the design of the Kings' Gretzky and current eras with "forum blue" added making the color scheme more reminiscent of the team's early 2000's sets. Other details include: original pants stripe + Gretzky stripes + logo current number font + Gretzky colors two-tone collar (1988-2013) wordmark on helmet (1988-2007, 2010-present) C+C always appreciated. For now, I'll go division by division starting with the Pacific. So, Anaheim up tomorrow!
