Didn’t notice this last week, but Cal is wearing their own color-coordinated version of the CFB-150 patch instead of the standard grey and white version: I really wish more schools took this approach, as the standard patch clashes with a lot of schools’ uniforms.

I'm not even a South Carolina fan, and I was disappointed when I saw a promo for next week for them in which they were playing in their current uniforms. I saw these throwbacks in action and immediately thought that they looked correct (for lack of a better term). I forgot for a moment they weren't switching back to this look full time yet.

Seeing them all together there makes me hate the bottom points of the W not meeting the circle even more. It doesn't look right. I think this is a case where the logo as you'd see it on the cars - chrome - will look better than this black print version. Here it looks very flat/plain, whereas the chrome logo will give it some depth and "texture". The previous blue one looked too busy with the beveled edges for my liking. But that W not meeting the circle........ugh.

I think the Dolphins are the ones who played like a high school team.

Despite rumors that they'll go with white for the home kit, I've decided on a more exciting option for my local side. Kits made by Adidas.

When looking at San Jose State's throwback and Troy's throwback, Michigan State must be thinking "We've had some great logos"

We can have the 2193410928340928345204935th argument about this. The white facemask, visually, doesn't look as pleasing at the gray. Mind you, I'm someone who constantly complains that uniforms aren't uniform enough anymore. But the gray facemask just worked so well with the Browns helmet. The white facemask takes the focus off the orange helmet and the stripe. It's distracting. It sticks out. The gray facemask works with the vintage feel/look of the browns. It blends into the background, putting the focus on the orange helmet. I get gray isn't in the color pallet... but the white makes it looks clowny.

Except they still have the pointless navy-billed cap.

Nebraska v Colorado is a great uniform pairing. What a callback to the Big XII of old.

DING DING DING!!! We have a winner. There is nothing at all non traditional about this football uniform, yet it is a refreshing new look for a franchise sorely in need of a fresh start!!!

this is REALLY stupid. i loved these headbands and they looked so cool. and even then is there a direct reason for them to be banned? Is it because Ninja the gamer signed to Adidas? is it “dangerous”? I thought it would be cool for Wizards rookie Rui Hachimura to be the “Nation’s Ninja” and rock one of these headbands. now that’s out the window. R.I.P ninja headbands 2018-2019

This team deserves to lose as long as they keep him. He's awful.

I'd say it's my most hated element, but there's like 5 that are tied for that spot. Just one of the many reasons for hating it is that it fully integrates the template into the design of the uniform. If they got a new template but otherwise didn't change the design, well the design did change because that stitching is kinda like a very light piping.

Too bad they use a gigantic yellow graphic for score alerts on their normal bottomline, because I still think there's a flag during every college game I watch.

I think RBs are good in the 20s through about 34. I'm with you on fullbacks. I am still not liking WRs wearing 10-19. In Baseball, I am still weirded out by pitchers in single digits. I have a few feelings with numbers in baseball. One is that I think of 16-19 as pitcher numbers, even though one of my favorites, Tony Gwynn wore #19. I also think of #1 and #2 as fast-running middle infielders or utility players. In hockey, I have no memory of players wearing #1 besides goalies. As an aside, I wish goalies still wore that number. For some reason, in both baseball and basketball, I think of #20 as being worn by common players (as opposed to stars). It's probably not true (Gary Payton comes to mind). Maybe the Twins and T-Wolves have had mediocre players wearing that number or something.

I can't find the quote, but I remember Steve Nash suggesting that they should have sleeved jerseys for those that would want it, but leave the sleeveless as the standard. So then you'd have sleeved and sleeveless on the court at the same time.

None? That seems rather absolute. I bet there are plenty of examples of ethical consumption under capitalism. There really hasn't been a recent rise...authoritarianism has always been prevelant across the world and across the political spectrum, especially by parties who want to ensure their side always stays in power.

But the dolphins uniforms now are just as good? I don’t understand why people hate the current dolphins look, it’s definitely top 5 in the league

I'm worried that we're headed to a Jags-esque redesign here where the team says "people hated our old uniforms because they were too busy" and reacts to that by going way too simple like the Jags did. Homes will be exactly the current Color Rush set and they will add roads that are the Color Rush template but all white with brown numbers and stripes and no orange.

I feel like he was destined to fail in Detroit. He's trying to turn Matt Stafford into Tom Brady; which he's clearly not. And he's trying to turn the Detroit Lions into the New England Patriots; which they're clearly not. When you try to copy a successful organization, more times than not you get a watered down imitation.

I think some mentioned earlier that Nike does have dazzle fabrics, but it's inferior to what they're hence the grey, khaki and mustard. It's gonna become a trend.

Lots of improvement there. Good work. I’d definitely flip the colors on the sleeve stripes so they’re essentially a simpler version of the classic stripes. The extra white helps balance the numbers and pants, and the extra contrast of the white against the brown sharpens the look. I’d also thin out the numbers a little. It looks like you have the orange fill and the white shadow combined there, and it feels a little beefy; I think you only need the weight of the orange fill. You might run into trouble with a dense number like 4 at that weight. I would also remove the extraneous angles and make the design of the numbers more traditional. The Cleveland on the front is unnecessary as well, if I’m honest. Lastly, at this point you’ve basically got a more contemporary take on the classics, and I wouldn’t mind keeping the brown mask around if that’s the approach. It looks a lot better than I thought it ever could. The fact that they’re still in the old garment with seams all over the place really exacerbates this. Contrast stitching would be so much more tasteful and tolerable on the newer build that everyone else is using because there are only a couple seams on the whole jersey. Either way, though, it still feels a bit extra on a team like the Browns, even if the thinking behind it is sound.

Do teams have designated "social media" or 'scorebug' logos? Seems to me like part of the reason for the trend is that the primary logo tends to get used a lot, and in today's world of avatars and little scrolly things on the bottom of screens, the cap logo works better. Obvioulsy the teams themselves can choose whatever they want, but I'd imagine that other outlets simply use programs that pull some specific logo based on tag regardless of team.

I honestly wouldn't be opposed to keeping the contrast stitching, I think it's a nice touch.

@DG_Now @andregunts tagging you so you're aware of where everything was moved to. Also gonna repost this... Yeah. Here's the thing. The literal enslavement of migrant workers is central to the narrative of this World Cup. You can't really separate it from the event itself. I will admit that this wing of the discussion is probably best served for the Sports in General thread while the Sports Logos one is left to the design end of things. Which is why I'm moving this wing of the discussion over there. That being said, abhorrent treatment of workers and bribery are so integral to this World Cup's narrative that I'm not censoring the "should have been a bloody bag of money" stuff from the logo thread. If that annoys you? Grow a thicker skin.

Here now we have an expansion team that everybody probably saw coming at some point, here are the Portland Beavers! Another refresh of one of my Redesigns sets, the Portland Beavers get updated with a deep cardinal and kelly green color scheme, much like I did in the updated version of the set. Off-white is taken out of the main set to clean things up a bit. The throwback set is based off of the Beavers' old uniforms. It doesn't necessarily throw back to too long ago, but the set still has that vintage feel that I really like for this team. Other than that though, I feel like this set mostly speaks for itself. Let me know what you think!
