I think the Wizards need a complete visual overhaul. THIS is what they come up with when they are asked to think out of the box? They're lucky they're in the same league as the Mavs because otherwise they would have the most boring identity in the league

For as popular as these were I've been really surprised that they haven't returned either as is ... or in red or blue.

I hope you all learned a valuable lesson about being excited for the Browns. I will also support any time when real sports have wrestling-quality trash talk and pettiness.

"Purdue has produced the 25 astronauts, the most of any school not affiliated with the United States military." I didn't know this. That's pretty cool. I'm a sucker for space themed (Specifically Apollo themed) stuff, though. Weird how much Ohio and Indiana, of all states, have contributed to our space program.

Once again, sorry for the long absence, never was completely happy with any of the following concepts, but I thought I would post them for feedback. So here are a few beta concepts, along with some updates to some previous teams. Jacksonville Cyclones: Happy with the team name, logo is probably going to stay, just need a secondary logo, and to pick one of the below color schemes. Not completely happy with the uniforms, either. Black and Blue: Burgundy and Powder Blue Denver Mountaineers: Not completely happy with name, logo, or uniforms, but I think this is best I can do as of now. Montréal Monarchs: My favorite of these three concepts, not happy with the name, as they are in the same division as the London Royals (might change their name), but I really like how the logo and uniforms turned out. Went for a 70s-style simple, timeless logo. Notches in the crown represent the fortifications of the city. Updates: New custom font for the Chicago Stars, made minor tweaks to the shield itself, and changed the powder blue uniform. New secondary logo and redesigned uniforms for the St. Louis Legion. I'd love to here your thoughts, especially with color scheme you like more for Jacksonville. That's all for now. Made in Affinity Designer. C&C appreciated.

Those Nets jerseys really need a black outline on the numbers and names.

Over the years, I think I've become better at appreciating uniforms that don't match, like the the Colts uniforms or the Bears roads. I can look past the awkwardness and appreciate the spirit of the uniform. However, I have found that I need to believe that you have either a reason for the mismatching (like historic tradition) or its the unfortunate result of a better look elsewhere (like when the Chiefs wear red on red and the striping patterns don't line-up because they were made to be worn with the white jerseys). However, these current Giants uniforms give me absolutely nothing to latch onto. They aren't historic, they aren't the result of mismatched pairings, and they don't even follow their own rules (the grey pants have red | grey | blue | grey | red striping; the white pants have blue | grey | red | grey | blue stripes). I can even get down with being a red-on-the-road team, even if the team is called Big Blue. I need something - anything - to hold onto. Here's my idea, Giants: be the red-striped team. Do you have white pants? Put a red stripe on there. Blue jersey? Red stripe. Red socks? Sure, as long as you add a red stripe (kidding). Whatever color you use just put a red stripe and you're golden. Go ahead and mismatch striping patterns and use 3 different white pants, just follow that one rule.

I liked this set, too. Given all the bad reaction when this new one released I started working on some concepts to honor the 90s style with a modern spin. Here's some of them.

Is this supposed to be some kind of insult that Richard Sherman smokes dope? In what decade is that supposed to be a bad thing?

Gridiron Uniform Database says the Cowboys beat the Colts to the punch by a year (which is how I remembered it). The Cowboys added numbers to the pants worn with their updated blue jerseys in 1981, then also added them to the pants worn with their white jerseys in 1982. The Colts added numbers to their new silver (grey?) pants in 1982, but never added them to their white pants. The silver pants were only ever worn with their blue jersey. Per GUD, the Packers also added numbers to their pants in 1984 (and also added their current collar and embedded their helmet logo in their sleeve stripes). I didn't look to see if any other teams followed suit, as I don't remember anyone else doing so.

The reality, of course, is that what actually distinguished a buccaneer from a pirate is that the former - at least initially - carried a letter of marque from a government entity, granting him permission to attack and seize vessels from nations at war with the issuer. I say "initially" because it was not uncommon for buccaneers/corsairs/privateers who started out scrupulously adhering to the terms of their issued letter of marque to later engage in acts of piracy when it suited them. Likewise, it was not unheard of for governments, as a matter of convenience, to issue letters of marque to known pirates when it suited the state's needs, thus adding an air of legitimacy to the actions of the former criminals. Further, those dubbed buccaneers were government-authorized privateers operating in the Caribbean. The point being, the notion that there were hard-and-fast styles of dress and behavior particular to buccaneers/corsairs/privateers versus pirates is nonsense. In any event, what seems apparent is that most of us agree that something needs to be done with the modern, football-playing Buccaneers' uniforms. They are a sartorial dumpster-fire.

But they're wearing white at home, so I can kind of forgive the Zenni logo color clashing.

And...I'm going to throw this in for everyone as part of "boards etiquette." There's no need to take shots at someone for making a mistake. Politely pointing out the problem is the preferable and recommended response. Being one of the "cool kids" does not give you carte blanche to say whatever the hell you want. When it comes to issues like not clipping a quote, be nice or be quiet. We've all made mistakes here. No good comes from piling on.

The Giants should just use the white color rush/throwback pants instead of the current ugly ones and they’d be fine. If they want to make a grey pair, even better. My biggest issue with the Giants is that nothing about their uniform matches any other part. Hell, even blue pants with a single red stripe to mimic the helmet would save the all-red road jersey.

I guess Nantz and Romo dragged the Chargers "home crowd" against the Broncos all day on Sunday. And after SNF, Al Michaels referred to Carson as the "cute" stadium. Chargers are hosting the Steelers for SNF next week, and we all know Steelers fans. This whole charade is going to be showcased on a national stage. Yeesh.

The whole Baltimore Canton set looks great. I'm really curious to read the "About the Club" entry. The fact that you put the club in Canton suggests you did your homework about Baltimore soccer history (or already know your stuff). East Baltimore was the hotbed of soccer in the olden days.

If it's going to happen, I think the full time switch to the retro for the Flames could happen next season because the signs seem to be pointing that way. The Iginla retired number banner from last season is retro, the 40th anniversary logo is all retro and the whites are back this year for the Heritage Classic. Wear the whites a couple more times after the outdoor game and who knows what could happen.

Just so you’re aware, at the bottom of page 81 you said, “And how do you know Johnny Canuck is Caucasian? He could have been Native Canadian for all we know.” So, does the term “Canuck“ represent First Nations/Native Canadians or not? You can’t claim it both ways to support your point. Also, would you say a skate represents the name “Canucks?” A hockey rink? Or is Johnny the only proper representation of the name? I’ll take my answer off the air.

Baltimore Canton Soccer Club About the Club The club was founded in 1917, as part of a youth sports team setup. They where the first uniformed soccer team in the state of Maryland and where regular contenders in State wide competitions. Following the founding of the second ASL, the club's leadership seeing the teams's success in the youth leagues, decided to enter the ASL for it's inaugural season with a semi-professional adult team. The first seasons saw Baltimore achieve relative success in the top half of the table, coming close to a league title in 1935/36. In 1938, they where joined by Baltimore German and the Charm City Derby was born. The sport was gaining popularity in the city as both Baltimore teams where regular fixtures in the top half of the league. But around the late 40's this came to an abrupt end. The financial situation of the league was dire, especially after it's resource draining expansion in the Midwest. With two teams in one city, many thought the market in the area was already over saturated. So the owner sold his team to a group of entrepreneurs from Trenton to the dismay of many fans. The team started play in the 1948-49 season as the Trenton Americans. This left fans distraught as they couldn't just support their fierce rival. But disaster struck again as the following season as the Baltimore German (now renamed Americans) folded the next season, leaving both sets of fans without their teams. After several seasons of no soccer activity, a new club from the city joined the ASL, Baltimore Pompeii. Several of it's players used to play for both Baltimore clubs, and right of the bat there was a big interest in the new club. But their was a big twist of fate yet again. The Trenton Americans, who effectively still owned the Baltimore colors and name folded during the 1954/55 season. This prompted the board of Baltimore Pompeii to inquire about the rights of the original Baltimore SC. While they where initially rebuffed, the ASL central committee ruled that Pompeii could in theory reacquire the rights if there where no buyers for the Trenton franchise. Eventually there was nobody who wanted to take over the failing club and Pompeii bought it for the symbolic fee of 1 dollar. With these rights now back in Baltimore, the club took on the name Baltimore Canton S.C and reverted to using the original crest and colors, as well as the date of establishment.

I can't see the York's or anyone else shelling out another couple billion to build a new stadium in Oakland. They're certainly not going to play at the Coliseum Sewage Treatment Center plus there's lawsuits abound on the sale of the Coliseum property.

I wish the team would have used the brownie elf logo they had a decade ago as the primary merchandise logo. But it's clear the team never saw that more than a novelty. Mostly because when they survey fans is always "we don't want a logo on the helmet" means we want the helmet on merchandise.

Quick turnaround but I have a busy few days coming up. The list randomizer I used really loved the ACC. Also Florida State has a damn near perfect look so much work wasn't necessary. They are also a member of the N7 program so that now is applied to the four sports. Football - So literally, there was not much that changes. the Seminoles finally make the jump to the Vapor Untouchable template, though now they might skip it entirely in favor of the Vapor Fusion. The helmet remains untouched. Jerseys remain pretty much untouched. I dropped the pattern for the collar in favor of contrasting color. It cleans up the jersey a lot IMO. I know the numbers are going to change to white on the garnet jerseys next season, which does come from some historical precedent. However, IMO it doesn't work with these jerseys so the numbers stay gold outlined in white. Pants see the most change, I brought back the feather from the 2009 Pro Combat uniforms to the pants, moving the primary logo to the front of the pants. You'll notice over the white/white set, is the N7 helmet, which I think how I'm going to proceed with the rest of the football N7 schools. You'll also notice the reworked black alternate jersey. I actually really love the IRL uniforms but I really do think they can be reworked a touch. I dropped the gradient from the helmet, changed the facemask color. I also just did minor tweaks to balance the colors on the uniforms better. Hockey - The pattern hits the ice. Pattern on the hem and the sleeves, Chief logo on the front of the home and away jerseys. Interlocked FSU on the shoulders, above the TV numbers. Gold helmets, with the spear logos. Garnet pants with the feather down the side, socks with the pattern stripe. Two, technically, alternate jerseys. First off, an all black set that sees the FSU logo on the chest and the Chief logo on the shoulders. So unlike SDSU, who didn't get an alternate jersey with their uniform sets, FSU in this case did. So instead of a whole set based off the N7 look, I just did jersey and socks in this case, which for design purposes sees the black replaced with turquoise. Baseball - Much like football, baseball does have a classic look that really doesn't need to change but does in a few places. Hat stays basically the same with the baseball FS on the front. Helmet looks like a football helmet with the big spear on the side. Jerseys now have the pattern on the sleeves in a bigger way than one would normally expect on a baseball jersey. Baseball script on the front of pretty much every jersey here. Name and number on the back. Pants have the feather like everyone else. Black alternate, N7 alternate like the rest. Basketball - I think basketball changed the least. The feather down the side remains as close to the same as I could get it. I added the pattern stripe to the hem and to the shoulders so it was represented on the jerseys. Added SEMINOLES to the home whites, left the stacked Florida State on the home and black alternate. C&C welcome! I can shrink the shoulder flashes, but the pants kinda are how they are. With the way the flash tail curves, its hard to get it to look good coming off the hip.
