  1. "Wrigleyville" sounds lame. Though if that is what the area around the stadium is called then ok...at least make the jerseys red to match the sign. These are hardly the worst but they're just so bland. Nope. This program is for making money.

  2. Whenever Baltimore gets their crack at a City Connect jersey, I fully expect a jersey script reading “Charm City” that mimics the famous Domino Sugar sign

  4. That is far too good of an idea for Nike to take it seriously.

  5. Ideally the Avs would add a blue outline to the stripes on the road jersey, but I think changing the numbers from black to blue would be enough. Look at Montreal’s away set. There’s barely any blue in the jersey, but the numbers match the pants, so it doesn’t look bad.

  6. Or just add a blue line on the jersey, it will look better and match the socks at the same time

  10. Spoken as someone who grew up in the region, Wrigleyville is a very common term for folks in Northern IL to describe the neighborhood around Wrigley field. It's a geographic location of the city. Probably more of a "you'd have to live there" type-thing, but it definitely is very widely used. That said, it's not really anything that needs to find itself on a Cubs uniform.

  11. Well I mean, come on. There's nothing to be read in social media profile pictures and social media graphics unless the teams want us to. Your profile pic here, which I assume is the default picture for people without a picture uploaded, is a black and white version of the CCSLC logo. Does that mean the CCSLC is going to be changing colours?

  12. You know what, you cracked the case. The Stars are going to be dropping green, a colour they have worn for their entire existence even going back to Minnesota, and changing to black and white next season because they are using a black and white logo for social media profile pics. They are going to introduce it through profile pictures by using a black and white logo, which most likely is an already existing logo in their style guide, and slowly but surely work up to a full rebrand for next season. The Coyotes Panthers and Leafs are also going to switch to rainbow colours too, based on their profile pictures, so be prepared for that also.

  14. Nah, cause Wrigleyville is far more common and wasn't invented by a garbage marketing team in 2014 to "replace" an already far more popular city nickname.

  15. Yeah, I thought that name was fun... I don't have much of a horse in the race of New York area teams' territories, but I guess I'm just hesitant to ditch a team's location name altogether. I mean, I certainly felt a tad alienated when the Reign dropped "Seattle" (among other brand elements grounding the team in the Puget Sound region) but maybe that's different... Oh, good! Glad you like it. Also, pictures of that Trossachs Forest look beautiful! Hopefully one day I'll get to check it out IRL, but I'll wait on your concept in the meantime ----------------------------- Next up is a rebrand for Salt Lake! It might be too late for RSL to change their name IRL (the fans sound kinda attached to it), but I don't like it that much and I wanted to try something different. I didn't want to use "Royals" in case the NWSL team ever returns, but I thought "Majestics" was ideal to keep the monarchic theme while also being more relevant to the region. Sorry if it breaks the Believe chant and stuff, but this is just for fun... The logo stays pretty similar but combines the crown with some mountains. The monogram gets simplified, and a beehive appears below. The colors turn to more deserty shades. The home jersey is a halved design inspired by the Spiral Jetty artwork nearby on the coast of the Great Salt Lake. The away jersey, in the much-demanded yellow, is based on the new Salt Lake City flag. Anyways, I'll be out of town for a week or so... I'll be back with a few more teams then! In the meantime, C&C and advice for the other teams are appreciated!

  17. Over in the “Nike Unveils City Connect Uniforms” thread, I suggested that whenever Baltimore gets a crack at the “program”, they go with a Charm City uniform. Now, I’m not well versed in uniform creation, but I can do logos! With that said, I give you... maybe, possibly, perhaps... Baltimore’s Charm City hat logo! • The orange and black “C”s for “Charm City” • There is Irish influence within Baltimore so I figured why not showcase that with a 4-leaf shamrock that ties it back together with the “charm” Honestly, I’m really pleased with how it came out, but as always, I’m very open to C&C. Thank you!

  18. Yo OP, I recently dug out my old copy of Madden 08, and was thinking of making some of these teams as custom teams. Would you allow it?

  19. I'm late, but... someone REALLY suggested this on this thread? (I shouldn't be surprised, but still...) Either way, the Southside jerseys are fire. I know a couple people down here in Fort Worth who wanted them.

  20. "But...why?" comes to mind here. These are so incredibly devoid of life. I can't even figure out who those are for. They're the clear definition of nonoffensive. There's a lack of color, creativity...I just don't understand why these exist. I can't imagine who would buy these in a merch sense (I may not have liked the Sox uniform but you knew they'd have a fan base). Why bother if you're going to produce something so...blah. They just feel lazy. Almost like Tom forgot to design them until midnight before the project was due, or had his mom do it for him. I can't "hate" them...because there's hardly any emotional response that could be illicted from any of this.

  23. I actually really like these? Big fan of that sleeve logo. Also, for having “WRIGLEYVILLE” across the front, the team missed a big opportunity to include ivy in the jersey. Would’ve been nice to see the sleeve cuffs or under the word mark to have an ivy pattern.

  24. If my city flag looked that good, I'd insist it be on everything too. And if you're worried that the flag is overdone, they get massive points for using the Municipal Device. https://www.wbez.org/stories/chicagos-municipal-device-the-citys-symbol-lurking-in-plain-sight/fd9cf47b-904e-4654-ad06-ff7fc8727758

  25. Well if there's one team in the majors that's going to use a pride-themed uniform, San Francisco makes the most sense. I wonder if the successful Edmonton Elks rebrand will push them more towards Spiders, if it wasn't already the front-runner. I think it's easier to get fans accepting of the changes if the new name has historical ties to the city/franchise. Just include old images like this in the release:

  26. Do Chicagoans love their flag that much? Cause I swear that the Chicago flag is incorporated into as many Chicago uniforms as possible. I’m from Maryland, I get it, when it’s determined by the powers that be that you have a “cool” flag, it gets slapped onto everything, but even the O’s and Ravens keep the MD flag relegated to patches!

  28. Spiders is the choice by a wide margin. So much better than Municipals or Guardians, and any anything rock n roll themed will be terrible.

  29. I cannot stress this enough. Anything Rock & Roll themed would be so corny and stupid.

  30. Something like this? I know the black and eggplant blend together but I went for a fairly straight callback to it. It also kind of works with the black in the logo. All i changed on that was the triangle to eggplant. I gotta say i actually like it more than i thought i would. I suppose another option could be to swap black for eggplant and mix in silver? now that i have it i can play around with colors more.

  32. I’m good with Spiders, Guardians, Municipals/Munis, Forests, Dobys, etc. Just don’t be the Rockers. For the love of all that is holy, don’t do it. I’m still kind of rooting for Dan Gilbert to buy the team and name them the Cleveland (Baseball) Cavaliers.

  33. Stumbled on this weird 2009 broadcast of the Rays and A's playing with MLB.com graphics. I never knew about this. Both teams are also wearing throwbacks to add to the weirdness.

  34. Philadelphia Eagles - the "Iggles" shine in Kelly green From a purely aesthetic standpoint, one of the biggest jersey crimes currently in the NFL is seeing the Eagles in midnight green instead of a more vibrant Kelly green hue over the last 25 years. I know Eagles fans would probably argue the team has seen some of their best success in the darker shade of green, including the Super Bowl win a few years ago. I'm personally biased as green is my favorite color, but I don't think the team has looked better than they did in the mid to late 60's. The green I used is a little lighter than what they actually wore just because I wanted it to pop a little more. I really dug the the twin stripes at the shoulders and sleeves from that era. Looking at action shots I always thought the sleeve stripes were sort of curved, but apparently they were supposed to be straight. In the end I decided to leave them angled to give it a more unique look. The helmet features the signature eagle wings with the addition of a white outline, which didn't come along until the 70's. Switched up the pants from plain white to gray to match the primary color of the wings. And there you have it: Fly Eagles Fly! Comments and critiques always welcome. Next up - the Miami Dolphins jerseys take on more of a two-tone look. References / Inspiration

  35. I could not resist. I think the helmet is the only part of the new Edmonton Elks look that is not a solid A+ across the board. So, i tried some experiments using the antlers from Dane Storrusten's amazing design for the A11FL Chicago Staggs found here (I hope that is OK, Dane, for a quick mockup), the new Elk logo and the traditional EE logo. Which of the 6 do you prefer? Assume that all helmets except #1 have a stripe pattern similar to the most recent Eskimos look.

  36. OK, one more. I took the actual antler logo and changed the angle so that it started above the facemask and went further across the entire helmet, then added a white shadow beneath it just for some contrast. I think I like this one better than any of the others I have modified.

  39. Nine times out of ten, if the wording on a commercial product seems off, I’d guess it was a trademark issue. Not my work. You’re just way off target if you think the designers and marketers creating this stuff have motives beyond creating something that’ll melt the internet and making sure all the units get sold before they hit the shelves. It’s almost like each team is run by different people with different aesthetic preferences and corporate branding philosophies...

  40. I agree. I've also really become a fan of white caps with colored brims and squatchees. A very sharp look.

  41. I think two tone caps look immensely better with the brighter color on the brim than the crown. As a kid I loved the Marlins teal crown/black brim a lot because it's the cap I owned and wore more than any other cap but now I own an inverted one like the one above and it looks way better to me.

  42. New Era has experimented with the teal bill look for the Marlins. I might still prefer the inverse (teal crown/black bill), although that could be because that's what I'm used to.

  45. Their color scheme had to have been inspired by the Marlins' first branding, since the Sea Dogs came into existence as a Marlins affiliate. I always wished that the major league club would experiment with that hat scheme, although I always admired the teal crown/black bill that they wore on the road up until 1996.

  46. You folks are really sleeping on the color balance used by the Portland Sea Dogs. The teal bill is very needed when using a black crown.
