  1. Carolina plays Detroit at the end of their road trip. That's the reason. Unless, they came to their senses and realized how dumb the red helmet looks with the white jerseys. Probably not, though.
  2. It's unacceptable either way. It just makes it look like a very expensive bootleg.
  3. I don't know how it's possible for Fanatics to get it so wrong. Found at my local Canadian Tire. There were at least three. They were high up in the air, so I couldn't tell, but I'm guessing the whole rack is like that. All selling for $200. For those that can't see, there's a silver outline on the numbers and NOB. At least, they spelled his name correct.
  4. Unless the rules have changed, I believe it's 3 years before you can make a change or ditch an alternate altogether. Fanatics has said everything will be the same for the time being as far as the template, though the materials might be a little different. https://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/35906901/everything-need-know-nhl-fanatics-jersey-deal
  5. It's probably not possible, but I would imagine a game inside the Vegas Sphere would be something.
  6. I don't think the socks were ever shown.
  7. It wouldn't even make any sense even if they were affiliated with them. Just call yourselves the Dragons. Sometimes generic is okay. Having a weird unique name is not better than the obvious.
  8. How long before we get a game where the road team wears their dark helmet and the home team wears their white helmet?
  9. Swedish Hockey League: Modo Frölunda HC Rögle BK
  10. Yeah. I was in the middle of editing my comment to something else after realizing that. I just rather no team wears their coloured helmet with their roads any more.
  11. The Leafs could wear their black helmets for every game. Edit: I realized my mistake and was editing it when someone else commented. So, I'll just leave it here.
  12. The Vegas Golden Knights are All Elite. Winter Classic leaked by AEW?
  13. Walker Kessler is signed to Adidas, I think. He was probably shown it by someone over there or saw it and asked for the hookup. This might be the most unusual way a jersey has every been leaked.
  14. No. As of right now, every team only has a set 80 games schedule. On Dec 4 & 5, the quarterfinals are played in the two cities with the best round robin record. Those count as game 81. The losers will then play game 82 against the team in the same conference as them in Dec 8. For the winners of the quarterfinals, they play game 82 in the semi finals on Dec. 7. The two teams that play in the finals play game 83, that does not count towards the regular season. All the teams that didn't make it past the round robin, will play two games Dec 6 and 8 based on how they finished in the round round standings and some other info. So, there is no "shaving" of games. The tournament is still 100% pointless and stupid. For it to mean anything, you need to invite teams from other leagues/countries, or put a guarantee playoff spot or at least a play-in spot on the line.
  15. Definitely not a good start for the league to go ahead without any names or logos. But, to be fair to the players, if they are the ones pushing to play now instead of waiting a year, it's a little more understandable since waiting a year means no paycheck for them. If I were in their shoes, without an alternative, I'd push ahead, too, unless there were other ways where they would still get paid for the year.
  16. The jersey designs are good for the most part. Not having team names or logos to go with them is just stupid and just gives any haters more reason to talk bad about the league, which in this case, would be deserved. Really limits themselves in terms of merch sales, too. As far as the jerseys themselves, Montreal or Ottawa really needed a much brighter red. They look pretty much the same to me, whether that's because of the lighting or because they are. Minnesota's white jersey is similar to the Arizona Coyotes where all the dark colours just blend into each other. They need to go back to the drawing board on that one.
  17. The Syracuse Crunch and San Jose Barracudas share the same colour scheme as their parent clubs, but have very different jerseys. The Grand Rapid Griffins also have a different template than Detroit. Yet, all three teams use the same pants/helmets/gloves as their parent teams even though they don't really go along with the jerseys, especially the Crunch. Those three teams could all go with plain pants, but don't. So, I would actually say the practicality part is just as important as looking similar to the NHL team. The NHL logo is even on the back of the pants for all AHL teams and any team logos. A player might switch brands, but if they were to get called up to the NHL during the middle of the season, they might not have the helmet/gloves they want in stock, especially on the road. Not to mention they would also want to break in anything new before actually using them in a game. So, having the same gear would mean that wouldn't be an issue.
  18. I would say it's less lazy and more practical for the gloves/helmets/pants to be the same. A player gets called up or sent down, they bring their equipment with them and all the team needs to provide is the jersey and socks. Also, we all know how players can be particular with their equipment. It's lazy, but standard practice, for the AHL team to use the same template with the parent club. Even if the jersey design was different, it still would make sense for the helmet/pants/gloves to be the same.
  19. The full colour courts plus the giant trophy make it look like it's CGI. That's the best way I can describe it. It looks like the players were taken from another picture and superimposed onto the court.
  20. Don't know why they did it, but that's not the reason. They don't wear shells. They have seperate black pants. I think most teams probably have different pants instead of using shells these days.
