  1. I didn't realize until now that the back hem stripes on the Islanders' retro jersey doesn't connect to the front. It looks so random.
  2. I get it. Teams picked the choice they thought was the best for them and worry about the schedule later. But, just using the Pacific division as an example, there are some missed opportunities with divisional rivals. Calgary/Edmonton, Vancouver/Seattle, LA/Anaheim. Can't even have colour vs. colour because they are too similar.
  3. If the NHL does something like the retro's again, then the Wild should throwback to...the Wild. The name might seem awful to some, but they have had spectacular jerseys throughout their history. After going with a North Stars jersey the first time, they definitely should have gone with something from their own history this year. A red version of their original green jersey with green sleeves would have looked nice.
  4. I expect the striping pattern to be the same, or at the very least, as close as possible to the original. The waist stripes look absolutely nothing like the original. I don't think the sleeve stripes are even similar and the yoke doesn't look right either. What colours they use or how they are used is not the problem. These two jerseys do not look alike.
  5. Outside of the logo, the Islanders retros look nothing like the original and more like a really bad knock off. It's a half ass job as far as I'm concerned. Should have gone with something different if they couldn't even come close.
  6. Washington city court. Don't know if posted yet. There's a whole write up on ESPN that includes mock ups of other courts they considered. https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/insider/story/_/id/34981405/lowe-incredible-new-washington-wizards-alternate-court-cherry-blossoms
  7. It was probably pointed out, but the Jets putting their youth foundation logo on their retros like how they use to have the Goals For Kids patch is a nice touch.
  8. According to his wiki, he wore glasses and the wire cage was designed to fit over his glasses and to be narrower than the puck.
  9. That leaves Canada as the last team to reveal theirs, right? So excited. On pins and needles.
  10. Orange gloves would have completed the look. Since I don't really pay attention to the colour of gloves, or the Ducks, I thought they just went cheap and used their regular gloves.
  11. Would like to see next Canucks alternate be green based. But, there is no gray on the bottom. It's white.

    CCM

Not sure if this is recent, but it seems like CCM tweaked their logo. Noticed it after seeing the Canucks trying out their retro reverse gear. Old: New:
  13. It might be a jersey based on the Metro jersey and not a direct throwback. So, barber pole with Kraken colours and hopefully, the shoulder logo on the front.
  14. Kings would look so much better if they ditched the chrome domes and white gloves. As for the Leafs...back to the drawing board. Also, a rare game involving both teams wearing their alternates.
  15. I get that the RR jerseys are supposed to be one offs and for fun, but the all white look needs to die. It didn't look good on the Stars, nor when the Leafs wore them in the Stadium Series game against the Caps. The third time is not going to be the charm. I really don't understand who actually thinks it's a good look and signed off on it. Lastly, I can't believe they are going to wear them 8 times.
  16. Petey trying out the RR socks for the Canucks
  17. The Medicine Hat Tigers agree with you. Might be a reason as to why they didn't go that route.
  18. Canucks have confirmed that their heritage third is dead. With the team wearing the RR for 9 games, I would not be surprised if they wear the black skate for 3 or 4 games.
  19. Overall, this batch of RR is better than the first time around. Nothing too terrible like Dallas' all white look. However, that isn't to say there aren't a few disappointments. Islanders: Close enough I guess. If they weren't going to go all in with the fisherman, then why not use the orange alternate from 2002 or take their original jersey and make it orange? Wild: Would have liked to seen a red version of their original green jersey. They are not the Northstars, after all. Hurricanes: Can a current road jersey be considered retro? Whalers jersey in Hurricane colours would have made much more sense. Senators: I think the sash part should have been either white, or red outlined in white. Canucks: So close to perfection and then it's ruined by the numbers on the chest, but none on the left sleeve? Might have been that way in 1962, but doesn't mean they had to repeat the mistake.
  20. Golden State Warriors with their very expensive, not cheap at all, ring. The top twists to reveal how many titles the player has won.
