    Final verdict for me:

    👍

    • Block numerals and lettering
    • No black on home/road uniforms
    • No more sleeve nonsense interrupting the stripes
    • They went for it on the black uniforms and the revised blue helmet. My biggest problem with all the prior black uniforms for the Lions was that there was never enough blue, and I always feared having a blue lion on a blue helmet would be invisible. By darkening the decals to black-and-silver, they were able to balance the look into something that actually works and is unique. The Blue/Black/Blue/Black alternate is something I hope we see.
    • Nothing specific, but these uniforms showed that the Lions had a clear vision of who they are and what they wanted to look like. They weren’t pushed around by Nike or the NFL.

    👎

    • Blue facemask. This is a personal preference and probably unpopular, but the honolulu blue facemask is just too bright/loud for me… It dominates the eye.  It’s less noticeable on the simpler masks, but when you get to the more complex lineman masks, it’s WAY too much blue (at the very least, I would like the Lions to bring back the silver masks from the throwbacks and swap them in and out like the Browns did in recent years to keep the looks fresh).
    • The chest wordmarks are too large and unnecessary, but beyond that, the wordmarks being the only italicized thing on the uniform will drive my OCD through the roof. I would have preferred a new wordmark to match this set (especially one that uses an uppercase N).
    • Black pants. Unbalances the alternate uniform and can’t be worn with anything else.
    • White pants. Downgrade from the normal silver pants and are over-worn.

    🤜

    • The striping pattern is a little too complex and doesn’t translate as well from the home jersey (white numbers w/silver stripes) to the road or alt uniform (blue numbers w/ blue stripes) or helmet. If they just went with the simpler | thin | thick blue | thin | thick blue | thin | stripe scheme  (or just added white/silver between the northwestern stripe of the last set) it would applicate a little better across all mediums. Do they also feel a little narrow to anyone else? I prefer the chunky width of the last set.
    • Blue pants. The ideal scenario is two sets of blue pants – one set with the normal home stripe pattern and another to match the alternate blue helmet – but if we have to choose, I’m fine making the trade off of stripes for being able to wear them with everything.

All in all, they’re a significant upgrade from the last set and they cleaned up almost all the trouble spots. These new uniforms  get a rave review from this Lions fan…

    🤌 (or, 8.9 out of 10)

Honestly how I feel. I do think if they got rid of the word mark on the chest and added blue pants to the black jersey I think the contrast would’ve been better for the blue helmets. Plus no more word marks interfering with the stripes make this a win in my books. 9/10

I think that the last Lions set is the best one yet (sans white yoga pants) and this set removes almost everything that the last set improved on. First I loved how there was almost no white because it was unique and the silver and Honolulu really popped. Also the number font was great and really evoked some sweet old car imagery. Finally the beautiful striping has been torn down what once was great classic NorthWestern stripe has been turned into some weird half breed ugly looking stripe straight out of 1983. Finally the fact that the black blue and white pants have no stripes is absolutely appalling and the last set achieved stripes on its primary pants(again ignore those horrid white yoga pants) and that in all is why I believe this is a downgrade and also why I think the last set was the best or at least tied with the Barry Sanders unis. Enjoy.😊

Yes the huge WCF and Lions Wordmark going through the stripes are what I saw when I was 10 years old, when I saw Barry Sanders juking and jiving through defenses like butter.. God forbid something fresh and clean is superior to the darker blue and those silver uniforms

Home and road are fantastic. Something feels off having a blue helmet with all black uniform. Perhaps the alternate helmet should have been black

NO. Love the contrast of blue on black. Just fits. The whole uniform set is just :censored:ing gorgeous. This Lions fanatic approves

  4. It was a hell of a ride, I am sad to see them go only because I did like the Coyotes. But let’s be real. With no real home they were destined to leave. But again if it wasn’t for the random commercial on the radio would you even know they existed here in Phoenix? Plus from what I hear, that if or when the NHL comes back into Phoenix it’s going to be a strong investor with a strong arena or prospect of an arena and want nothing to do with Murrello. John Gambodoro here in Phoenix has been doing a bang up job reporting and keeping up on this and yes I feel bad for the fans and the situation. It’s time to move on and let the Coyotes/Grizzlies/Eagles flourish in another city.

  5. You’re talking to someone who was raised in Phoenix/Glendale. There’s no branding, no advertisement and even if they are within fans. They are still last in the pecking order with the Suns/Cardinals/Diamondbacks who have a rabid to decent fan base. Honestly if they go only 1/8 of the Phoenix market will care. Let them leave. Let them go get a fan base in the SLC area.

I can tell you from a basic Phoenix native, we do care about the Suns, Cardinals and Diamondbacks, the Coyotes on the other hand, just why, they could be in the Stanley Cup Finals and I think maybe 5% would even care. At least when the Dbacks was in the playoffs to the World Series, the area went nuts. I just can’t see anyone that would really care about the Coyotes.

Imagine being a football program so big and powerful that you don’t have to play in a conference and can pick your own schedule, and STILL choose to play both of the service academies 🤦‍♂️

Does Notre Dame still get any bull:censored: privileges with the CFP that they did with the BCS? I still can’t believe they gained an automatic BCS bid every time they won ten games.

I think because of their affiliation with the ACC they probably could, but since they’re independent. I think they should be treated like the group of 5 instead of the power 4. But we know that’ll never happen

Wait… you hate the Minnesota Vikings?  That’s hilarious!  That’s like hating…. I don’t know, like the Indiana Pacers, or old Scooby Doo reruns.  Or your four year old nephew who occasionally says annoying things.  What could the Vikings have possibly done to the fans of any other team to create the least amount of offense?

To be fair, it’s mainly because you’re a division rival more than hating the Vikings

Good for the Lions. Congrats @Gary

Must be fun to be in Michigan this month. Good for you guys.

I’m legally obligated to say Go Niners, but I’d be so happy for the Lions if they win next weekend.

That was a damn good game and Baker Mayfield has turned it around. I think next year it’ll be the Buccaneers year. But damn feels so good. Let’s not forget about the other Lions fan @Shumway as well

I think he'd be better off competitively at Arizona, but taking the Washington job is a steep step up from Tucson.

He was rumored to a lot of other schools as well. He’s a good coach, but he’s going to drown in the B1G. Not only that, but welcome back to sucking Arizona

Washington had every opportunity in the second half. That holding call on the big play was suspect, especially since there was a lot of getting away with things all night long.

    Anyway, whatever. Cheaters always win.

Washington played a great game. Always respected the Huskies.
