  1. Strangely, Christian Vazquez of the Red Sox is wearing St Louis Cardinals socks in tonight's game. If he wanted a fancy sock, why not go with the traditional Red Sox pattern?
  2. There have been a lot more than that over the years. Here are some examples:
  3. The Patriots and Colts simply need to show Nike a picture of the 2019 Panthers jerseys and say, "Give us these stripes in our colors! Double the thickness of the outer edges and we're good to go".
  4. I always thought the ears of grain shown withing the Brewers logos were barley, one of the primary ingredients in brewing beer. I am very surprised they are listed as wheat, which is an ingredient in certain types of beer, but certainly not part of the American lager style that Milwaukee is famous for. https://brewers.fanportal-mlb.com/glovestory/ "A brand-new mark, the Wheat Ball is inspired by wheat from past Brewers logos to honor MKE's brewing tradition." The news story on the Brewers site about the redesign refers to the script from 2000 as having barley and the new 2020 ball logo having barley. Strange. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/brewers-new-uniforms-2020 The Brewers wore the logo from 1978-93, the final season of Robin Yount’s Hall of Fame career. In ‘94, for their 25th season in Milwaukee, the club made the dubious decision to change to an interlocking “M” and “B,” then changed again in 2000 with a script “Brewers” adorned with barley to mark the pending move to Miller Park. • The alternate home uniforms are white with familiar pinstripes, matching the Brewers’ look when they first introduced the ball-in-glove. On the left sleeve of both versions of the home uniform is a baseball patch with seams of barley, borrowing from the 2000-19 logo.
  5. I'd like to see the gold button returned to the top of the cap.
  6. Portland, Oregon hosts the Little League Softball World Series and the state has an entry as a regional champion. https://www.littleleague.org/world-series/2019/llsbws/ UNITED STATES REGIONS LLSB Central Region LLSB East Region LLSB Oregon D4 Region LLSB Southeast Region LLSB Southwest Region LLSB West Region INTERNATIONAL REGIONS LLSB Asia-Pacific Region LLSB Canada Region LLSB Europe-Africa Region LLSB Latin America Region
  7. Interestingly, Dee Gordon wore Twin City Knitting 2-n-1 stirrups with a traditional 3-stripe design. Pitcher Matt Festa wore real stirrups which were plain royal blue.
  8. A championship ring has been created for France's World Cup players. http://www.espn.com/soccer/club/france/478/blog/post/3805817/inspired-by-the-nba-paul-pogba-and-antoine-griezmann-deliver-world-cup-rings-to-france
  9. The gold on the name and numbers is dye sublimated onto white twill with decorative stitching around the edges of the gold parts. I think it appears a shade lighter with that application instead of true gold twill sewn on top of a separate layer of white twill.
  10. The Red Sox announced Brandon Phillips will wear number zero. They didn't mention the fact that he is first ever to wear that single number. No one in team history has worn 00 either. All time uniform numbers for Red Sox: http://www.redsoxdiehard.com/players/unifnums.html

  12. Brothers J D Drew and Stephen Drew both wore #7 for the Red Sox.
  13. No, I think Canada's inspiration was North Attantic lobster tail.
  14. Wow. Quite ugly. Team USA was inspired by Bald Eagle feathers. USA Hockey Unveils Nike 2018 Olympic/Paralympic Jersey Other jersey highlights include:• The inspirational slogan of Land of the Free – Home of the Brave hidden in the back neck of the jersey• Injected silicone molds make the trim pop• Graphic on the sleeve was inspired by bald eagle feathers and represents the theme of fluid force• The flicker film (rather than heavy twill) base for the crest and numbers increase vibrancy and sparkles under arena lights.
