  1. Is this helmet logo new? Or maybe it's just an ad
  2. This is the template I like, not the cup-winning ones. IMO this template is miles beyond what they're wearing now
  3. To me, Pittsburgh has 3 issues: 1. Template / striping: The 80s set is about the most mismatched thing I know of....totally a mess. I can't believe this doesn't bother more people. I agree with @Morgan33that the white 90s template was nice. I think the 2002-2007 is up there too. 2. Logo: robo vs skating both look fine to me 3. Yellow vs gold: I'm probably in the minority, but they looked good in gold. I wouldn't mind either way (benefit of using yellow like steelers & pirates vs con of similarity to Boston).
  4. IMO a nickname should NEVER be used on a jersey, but apart from that the Tampa jersey is alright. The first thing I thought of was those old Canada jerseys with the big leaf. I would prefer the bottom bolt moved up slightly so it's more obvious it's a bolt...the tiny white area will probably be covered by arms / pants.
  5. Don't you dare put the fisherman in this category!
  6. Personally I prefer the prototype version
  7. I'd agree ARI whites are better - at least some break from the three dark colors (green, red, and black). I'm still not sure why that set needs black at all. Like someone said about the Avs...just not enough contrast: I may be in the minority, but I'd go further and say plenty of teams look better in their white than colored jersey. Maybe it's a product of when I grew up, but to me it looks cleaner. Plus you avoid the monochrome look. I'd say at least half the teams COULD have a nicer white than colored jersey.
  8. I think @CreamSoda's last drawing is pretty similar to mine above (which got relegated to the bottom of pg53 so I'm guessing it wasn't seen), like he says the pattern is logical head to toe...
  9. On the Avs ...again after seeing them in action in practice it's just a mess... IMO grey is on the jerseys to separate burgundy from blue. So there is NO REASON for (1) burgundy and blue to ever touch and (2) grey to be present anywhere OTHER than between burgundy and blue. Plus, all the grey stripes should be the same width. I don't have an issue with the black equipment/breezers, but if they insist on eliminating it I think they have two fine options (personally I'd prefer burgundy shoulders/breezers):
  10. I dunno, something about the dimensions just looks slightly off to me: P.S. Those elbow faux patches...woof!
  11. Watching the Chiefs in red pants...I'm still not a fan. I wonder if they'd look better if they matched the stripes on the shoulders of the red jersey: IMO this would look better...and it'd make all the striping consistent (yellow in center and 3 total stripes)
  12. @spartacat_12keep in mind MTL shades of red and blue (a) have way more contrast and (b) still are separated by white. IMO that's what the Avs (sans black) need. Below are 6 ways they could achieve that (3 different colors of breezers without and with grey).
  13. Maybe this in unpopular, and I appreciate the effort, but the Avs changes don't address the real problem ... IMO this is a step BACKWARD. The whole reason for black / grey in the original set was to separate the burgundy and blue. Those colors are muddy whenever they're adjacent. http://nhluniforms.com/Avalanche/Images/Avalanche04.png If they insist on eliminating the black (except that they also insist on using an inferior shoulder logo which FEATURES black...), you've got to have a way to keep the burgundy from ever touching the blue. Now instead of it happening on (a) the collar, (b) the side numbers and (c) between the road jersey and the breezers it also happens on (d) the back numbers (a huge area that is going to look muddy from a distance).
  14. I came here to say this, so I'm glad I'm not the only one. I don't know all that much about soccer, but I'm confident both of these are "red" teams. So when they play each other, what color do we get? black?
  15. On the bright side, from TV-camera-distance I'm guessing those Liverpool and Chelsea details won't be noticeable. I'm glad someone mentioned the "3"... ever since those came out I've thought that was even more distracting than normal advertisements
  16. Maybe that's their qualification for QB. Think of their recent past: -Rivers' throwing motion -Luck's ... personality -Manning's ability to run
  17. I've mentioned my love for Denver's old helmets previously (https://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/122486-nfl-2020/page/188/?tab=comments#comment-3158457) but IMO those are beauties and they should be using that color.
  18. In fairness that's not an apples-to-apples comparison as the logos are different. IMO with all the changes in their history, the Jags have made ONE improvement. Every single other change has been worse than its predecessor. (and the single correct decision was going away from the bipolar helmet)
  19. Pretty sure most of us hate the long undershirt look, but supporters can now say it got a team to the super bowl!
  20. Yikes I can't believe that got approved! But don't throw the baby out with the bath water:
  21. week late here, didn't see it mentioned, but noticed watching highlights that this feller on Oregon State didn't get the same pants as his teammates: [
  22. Out of curiosity, is it unpopular to really dislike the current Penguins unis? The striping patterns are just so disjointed every game I end up thinking this is probably one of my least favorite sets in the league. The colors and logo are great (even though I personally loved the gold), but the other templates they have used would be vastly superior:
  23. KC Mavericks (ECHL): sorry I can't find better photos but they were worn against Fort Wayne on 12/7
