My Duquesne Dukes are in the tournament for the first time since 1977! My lifelong fandom (I attended one half of one game in the four years I spent there) is finally being rewarded.
I’VE GOT DUKIE FEVER!!!!

I don’t know anything about Phoenix, but just from fooling around on Google Maps, this seems like a terrible spot for an arena. This is still far from the population center, just in a different direction now.
(Yes, I know there is basically no chance anything happens with this attempt either.)

There is a blue swoosh visible above the horn.
Definitely a red stripe with the horn.
That blue thing above the horn looks more like an “H” to me.

That’s a red swoosh inside the navy “horn” on the sleeve, right?
These aren’t a disaster, but they are definitely worse than what they had.

It's sad because buying an authentic was worth the money at one point. It was sturdy materials and it felt good. Now the authentics, what the players are going to wear this season, look like the knockoffs! I think people should buy from dhgate! If I wasn't already pretty much done with collecting jerseys then Fanatics has made that decision for me.
I'm not the only person to make this observation, but there's this growing feeling right now that every product in practically every industry feels worse than it used to and it's because of guys like Rubin.
I've told my fanatics story, but I'll tell it again. I bought a Reds hoodie with the Mr Redlegs logo on it so I could wear it to opening day. That was a month before the game so I figured I was safe. Opening Day came and went without my fanatics order arriving for the game and when it finally did show up that Reds hoodie quickly became a red hoodie because the graphic completely disintegrated off of it after a couple of washes. I guess I should just be grateful it showed up at all and that the logo was oriented correctly while it was on the garment.
I'll never buy from them again after that and I hope more people follow so their only choices are get better or get replaced by another supplier. Until their crappy monopoly of sports is broken, I'm only buying from Homage, Ebay vintage pieces, and fan made unlicensed gear.

I have a confession. The first Super Bowl I remember watching is Bills-Giants. Seen a few dynasties in my day. I hated the 90s Cowboys. Hated the Brady Patriots… I like the Chiefs! Mahomes is just too fun to watch.

Man, a lot of these are really great. I audibly gasped at that Guardians’ cap. The Rockies purple cap with black pinstripes rules.
Are the Marlins using teal or their normal shade of blue?

I have a feeling the hat is going to say “Philly” in that font as well.

So what are the chances that KC goes with white jerseys?
Look, you and I know that uniform superstition is dumb, but the Chiefs lost to the Lions in red already this year and they won two road playoff games. These are typically the situations that lead to teams wearing white in the Super Bowl. Kansas City doesn’t really strike me as one of those teams that cares either way however.
Edit: I want to add to this post about superstitions not being real, that I definitely cursed the Lions by posting this.

We need a Browns-Lions Super Bowl!

My best guess, from 2,500 miles away, is that there is a genuine excitement about some of the young guys in the farm system that have started coming up. Looks like another very short window is opening for the Pirates before it is blown up again in a few years.

I’d wait for Neil deMause to go over the fine print before I start getting excited. I hope it works out though.
The most important detail in all of this, Fergs continues to exist!

I only just realized that there are two Monday night games for weeks 2 & 3. Why? Is this new for this season or have I just never noticed?

A simple rebrand to American Coast Conference and it all makes “sense”!

I'm a Tom Petty fan and have listened to that song dozens of times, but even I didn't make that connection, so it seems like a big stretch by the marketing department. I can't really think of what notable impact Indiana has had on pop culture outside of Hoosiers and Parks & Rec.
This is Breaking Away erasure!

Nice seeing all these beautiful throwbacks. I have a very strong suspicion that the Colts will be going BFBS head to toe tomorrow to ruin that vibe.

Very thankful that they didn’t go with the darker purple helmet! Historical accuracy be damned!

The individual elements need work, but the color balance works for me. Throw some blue socks on that and its the start of a look I would like to see them adopt full time.

You see a ton of “MLB to PDX” bumper stickers driving around up here. The problem is that there aren’t any credible owners to be found. I’m sure one of our more business minded posters could explain why Phil Knight never got into owning a sports franchise.

Most of the time I hate to see a team move, but I think this one will hurt more than most, purely from a uni point of view. I don’t see the current A’s look fitting with what Vegas teams want to bring to the table. We may be losing one of the best uniforms in all of sports.

That is a horrible choice in footwear for a hike in the desert.

Yeah, people love that carpet out here. I never saw one of the “Oregon” jerseys in the wild, but the PDX carpet gear is everywhere.
