  1. I know baseball rarely has same color vs same color, but I hope they wear these when the marlins wear their black alt. That would be a glorious dumpster fire.
  2. With all the light weight, form fitting, etc any lingo they use or tech they come up with, why don’t they use sublimated/screen printed numbers? I mean I’m glad they don’t, but wouldn’t that be better? Won’t that be lighter or more form fitting? I’ve noticed that’s really become a thing in college baseball
  3. I like your cooperstown idea and my mind immediately thought of the nats flipping that Montréal expo M upside down and creating an expo uniform (racing stripes of course) in Nats colors
  4. Probably already posted and not sure of the accuracy, but I read on Twitter the padres are exempt from 4+1 cause their two camo alts honor the military. I didn’t know they still rotated two camos. I thought they just had a brown one and retired the blue one (or do they have a green one?). If this story is true, does that exempt anyone? Cause I imagine the pirates 4 are the white, gray, and two blacks thus eliminating the white/camo they’ve kept around for years (why they kept that Memorial Day uni as an alt is beyond me)
  5. I do not disagree, I guess the point I was trying to make was aside from the elf showing up at midfield this year, an orange helmet is what they’re known for on the field and on a graphic. The bears can use the bear face, the wishbone c and flip colors of the c on graphics or merchandise.
  6. Do you think the browns just may be doing an alternate helmet with numbers on the side again? I think any departure from an orange helmet will be too much of a culture shock. Their helmet logo is no logo and their graphics usually is the helmet. I mean how many people actually know they wore a white helmet? I can see them reviving their throwbacks cause the bengals had to revive their old color rush to use their white helmet. I don’t see so much a brown helmet, but who knows. Maybe they go brown with an orange grill. The nfl made this helmet rule weird. I think the saints and panthers both wanted a blackout, one got it and the other got a Franken-throwback
  7. I love the teal and F logo. The problem with the marlins is, they have a sick obsession with black. It morphed into a silver-black from the original set. Then they redesigned and instead of owning orange and all the bright rainbow colors, it morphed into black. This recent redesign took black to such a new level, they give you a hat logo and overused alt that are nearly illegible. With Miami and sunshine and flashy colors, they literally could have embraced teal OR orange OR this new blue and chose to emphasize black each time
  8. Well, it is a “fanatics experience “ so that means if you order a team USA jersey, your Puerto Rican hoodie will arrive sometime in August.
  9. This has probably been discussed (but being displaced from this train accident and now driving 1:30 each way to work), I haven’t been able to scour the thread. If anyone can answer a few questions, I’d appreciate it. 1) So, is each team getting a spring hat and 2 BP? I see the spring (same as last year except date), a white hat and a gray one. 2) I’m a 5950 guy only. How does the mesh look/feel? 3) what’s the point of the 4 plus 1? A quick scroll through my head only really sees it affecting the rays, mariners, rangers, pirates, Phillies, and diamondbacks. 6 teams. So what’s the point?
  10. I’m wondering if mlb for merchandise purposes doesn’t actually mind teams like the rays or mariners dropping gray because I’d have to think the gray jersey is the least purchased. I’d think the general fan would grab the home uniform to wear to the park or the colored uniform. Also using the rays and mariners example, this will allow for 3 hats to be purchased (standard cap, Sunday throwbacks, new city connect).
  11. So, will they have 3 helmets? Will they have a navy TC, white panel TC and a navy M? Non matching helmets bugs the heck out of me to begin with and having a helmet that isn’t a hat is goofy to me. I’m of the belief that your helmet is a safe version of your hat. If you can’t match them, then maybe you have too many hats.
  12. In western PA, they go around to the schools during football (not sure about basketball) and do a gold star game. The team chosen wears camo (they take the jerseys with them cause kids get random numbers) and here’s the weird part they started last year…each player gets announced as a soldier who lost his life. So if the QB is number 6 John Smith and army doesn’t have a 6 in his size, he might be number 11 and instead of John smith, he’s staff sergeant Bob Jones. This has to be a nightmare for any type of record keeping and announcing let alone the aesthetic of the jersey. I’ve never went to a game like that, but I teach at a rather large high school that usually gets chosen and I have a ton of athletes in class since I’m a PE teacher
  13. I can’t figure out the pirates socks and I’ve lived here my whole life. I’m not into the city uniforms, personal preference about team colors/nicknames taking a back seat, but it’s almost a no brainer to do something gold for the golden triangle or (hold your excitement Nike) to do something anthracite for “steel town” (even though the mills are generations gone).
  14. You think that’s crazy, I think every ncaa football uniform unveil took place at a beach, under a waterfall, or on the moon this year.
  15. Wow, wonder if the pirates will can one of the two redundant black jerseys or the totally useless camo they recycled from like 4 memorial days ago? This might explain the rays dropping the gray jersey (which they rarely wear anyway) so they’d have white, navy, Columbia, and devil ray.
  16. Obviously the chiefs are white-white but can anyone clarify their socks cause there’s about 1/2 in reds and 1/2 in white.
  17. Let me preface my post with this, I am 100% anti-gray mask unless it’s a throwback (not here to beat that dead horse), but the Steelers should have used gray masks with the block numbers while celebrating the immaculate reception and honoring Harris. Not sure of the logistics of getting new masks or the nfl rules though. It would at least help the redundancy of having 3 black jerseys…and yes many other teams have redundant alts (cards two black jerseys, ravens 2 purple jerseys and pants, Texans 2 navy jerseys and pants, bucs 2 pewter pants, raiders two white jerseys, saints two white jerseys, and I’m sure I’m forgetting some)
  18. The Vikings look terrible and so does their logo and endzones, but if it’s a whiteout, why not slap white masks on the helmet? They at least have past practice with that. In other news, saints with a simple sock change makes their all white look tolerable.
  19. What’s crazy for me is that if this was the nfl, I’d think the red helmet-white jersey-red numbers-red pants-white striped socks would look so good and color balanced (ala chiefs), but in hockey, I think the canes with basically the same set up looks so awkward. Maybe I’ve just seen white helmet and jersey too much so it becomes awkward for me.
  20. Didn’t even realize they didn’t wear green pants. That’s a bigger omission for me over the black. I like white/green for an alt. I didn’t think coaches called the uniform shots anymore. Thought it was all the manufacturers. So, Mario is a basic like Al golden? EDIT no clue how double quotes happened here
  21. The Miami hurricanes did not end up wearing their latest Miami nights uniform. The one with the lime green numbers. Not sure if it’s cause the season was a mess or whatever or if it will be used in the future or just be a phantom uniform.
  22. I can only speak for the penguins. I think they’ve worn theirs twice so far (maybe three times. I lose count when they have 3 black jerseys), but anyway it was vs the white buffalo goat heads and the white flyers today.
  23. So, the saints, giants, and dolphins basically have home-Road throwbacks now.
  24. Here’s my worthless 02. The M hat is bunk. They never played off the North Star. The twin cities is lame. Cream is terrible. The one color wordmark looks low budget. Come at me. As the gold was an over upgrade, this is two steps back. A team with this much history can do better.
  25. Many do. The bucs and Seahawks both had them this morning. One thing about the fan bucs 3d helmet that isn’t being mentioned is that logo is a flag and flags are 2D
