Man, seeing the dodgers cap, I’m not sure a few years ago anyone said they can’t wait til there’s the mlb logo on the back, your nickname on the side, the new era on the other side and the front panel has your logo above a random black bill.

My eyes aren’t the greatest, but is that a white panel angel hat paired with a cream uniform?

With the rays dropping gray (sad) along with tons of colored alts, city connects, powder blues, etc, do you think we are in a trend (colors of 70s, powder blue roads, etc) or do you think baseball is moving away from white vs gray? I think teams with less history will embrace this, while teams like tigers and Yankees will stay traditional. the high school I coach has orange tops for home and black road. A few years ago the boosters bought black pants cause they are “fire,” after purchase, they quickly became our default pants. I finally got them shelved for two years and this group begged so we let them wear them for the last series. I was told over and over, coach this is sick, this ain’t the old days, etc. we ended up getting spanked those last two games and I said at least our look was sick haha. long story short, kids love these types of unis and it seems like a lot of adults do for nostalgia purposes. a random thought …I can see the Mets city connect uses the skyline from their sleeve patch as their chest logo ala old Denver nuggets. I’m going to put my iPad away now. I’m not good at drinking and analyzing uniforms while having access to a message board

I think someone listed them somewhere in the 40+ pages I know Phillies, rangers for sure. Some teams used their ST jerseys like the reds (right? The red one with Mr reds head) and the rays ST jersey became their alternate. There was also a post about limiting jerseys to 4…which between that rule or supply chain can explain the lack of navy rays jerseys (white, gray, Columbia blue, devil rays) cause they wore them 90% of the time home and road

They may be on the list of supply chain issue missing uniforms that a bunch of teams are dealing with. They wouldn’t be that bad if they weren’t black on black or their blue being a better color. This is one team that should just go back to the start. Their og colors were amazing as well as their F logo. Unfortunately they seemed to become more of a black and silver team in that era.

So…is navy blue a trend now? We’ve seen the blue jays add that with their alternate as well as the cubs-royals city jerseys. It’s not like royal blue is the overused shade of blue in MLB

The way I see it is they are (sting) rays, hence the sleeve patch, mascot (the rarely used one not Raymond or dj kitty), former name/logos, and the aquarium. They play off the sun ray cause of their home being the sunshine state. That ray is just a spot on the word mark. They choose to blow it up in size a bit. Again, playing off the name ray being used and interpreted differently. Just like teams from buffalo playing off the animal in some of their logos. And here’s more baseball identity crisis (As green colors) and logo crisis (reds wishbone c, old English C, and Mr red…all were worn the other day -hat-jersey-socks). What I was getting at in my original post was I don’t mind the rays. They use two different sting rays and play off the ray (of sunlight)

Funny seeing all the hate for the rays and people saying they have an identity crisis…yet same people REDACTED over the charger uniforms and their three shades of blue in three different sets.

I agree fanatics suck, but wouldn’t Nike be on the hook for outfitting the on field product? Legitimately curious.

That stinks about the rays. I thought it was unique they basically had 4 color swapped jerseys…especially with their moving-wanting to move-owner forcing move situations. The light blue new one was ok for spring training, but it’s too plain now…especially without a front number (which wasn’t needed cause of their huge word mark). Wonder if it’ll still be paired with the navy ray cap?

Can anyone with more knowledge than me at the moment let me know if the Braves discontinued using the cream jersey, A’s dark green, Nats white with W, white with flag W, and Rays Columbia blue (normal alt not spring) jerseys or did MLB the show 22 just mess up?

I heard that too…so does that make them a 3 helmet team in 23? Do they drop black after only one year?

You said a lot of what I was thinking. Heck, I was just going to type that it’s either some grandma’s doiley or her fancy display towel that nobody is allowed to use.

So, they let the commanders designer in on this?

Is there a massive release of alternate helmets? Will it be team by team? Will it be like week 8 and you see (for example) the jets say “we’re back in black” and just have some gif of someone in the full uni?

I agree…especially with replacing the giant KC. I still prefer the Royals cursive script, but if this is strictly a road option, location name makes more sense I guess.

They have throwbacks of many Indians jerseys and eliminated wahoo and replaced it with the C, so they may just write Cleveland on the homes of those throwbacks. They also photoshop classic players on their baseball card. The only issue may be that they are graphic packages of each jersey and not a simple delete text and insert new text. The game has at least a half dozen throwbacks for each team so I don’t think they’ll shortchange Cleveland. Some of the Yankees or tigers throwbacks are hard to discern from their current uniforms

If we’re jumping on the white at home for a bit…can someone explain why a bucs red jersey is too hot, but if you pair the white jersey with pewter (much darker than red) pants, it’s ok…and how the Miami hurricanes can wear their green jersey at home (sometimes with green pants) yet 24 hours later in the same stadium, the dolphins aqua is too hot?

This x1000. The penguin is just black and white and the triangle actually represents the city and just isn’t there for background noise.

$44 for a single color 2D trucker hat (I looked at pirates and rays on lids) is unfathomable. My streak of hat collecting may be over. Fanatics buying lids and crushing their MiLB selection was strike 1 in breaking my addiction. This is easily strike 2.

I could see the eagles with a black helmet for their alternate. I could also see them in a white throwback to get a feel on a full time Kelly green return and also I could see them just with a kelly throwback. I don’t think any scenario would prevent them from altering their 23 uniforms if they choose to.

Well, I imagine the cards will have an alternate black helmet. I just hope the bird isn’t front and center with numbers on the side.

Don’t forget the nfl sock (or lack of) rules now. No standard. Players in different ones, teams in full unitard. This set seams to only feature unitard.

I was gonna post my .02 in some big long post, but I’ll just leave it at “only the titans may be worse” total garbage. I’ve honestly come up with better on create a team that has like 4 options.
