  1. Preacher is just a douche. Trying to reason with a douche is futile. I really like those Saints banners....
  2. Block/Penguins number font hybrid, and a very large pseudo-Leafs font nameplate. Very awful.
  3. I hate the Rangers Liberty Head logo. I think the regular blues and whites are some of the best jerseys in sports, and the Liberty Head is a cheap, late-90's money grab that does not look good and takes away from the team's overall aesthetics.
  4. yes. i miss the vancouver voodoo This.
  5. b-b-b-b-but the Lofty Academic Standards ...aren't as important as crushing the Big XII. Who would have guessed? making an assload of money.
  6. Big Ten's not gonna get Texas. Texas is gonna tell the Big Ten that they're bringing all their Texas buddies, and the Big Ten will simply say "Screw You", and grab Notre Dame... The PAC-10 seems to have open arms, barking "Come one, come all"...
  7. The SEC isn't gonna stand by and be left in the dust, and The Big East is adding no one, as they'll be dead. You will have the three super-conferences (Maybe 4, depending on how badly the ACC gets ripped to shreds by the SEC) that will have their playoff and be the center of the college football universe, and everyone else will just be around, playing bowl games that no one will care about anymore...
  8. I don't think the BCS will be around after all of this goes down...
  9. Second-tier programs. I think we're looking at a situation where, if you're not in a Super Conference, you're gonna be fuuuuuuu*ked...
  10. Jim Delany and the PAC-10 opposed playoffs for this very scenario. To make schools that needed money to begin to look elsewhere for a place to get it. Once the dust settles from this, there is nothing to lose from the playoffs. The playoffs could earn up to $780 million. This whole thing was basically a scheme hatched to consolidate schools, make super-conferences to have huge money-making machines for all the schools involved, and then further the money-making venture by finally implementing playoffs. It's a genius move...
  11. I think what you'll see out of this is what people have wanted all along: Playoffs.
  12. Chip Brown from orangebloods.com stated on Sportscenter that the Texas brass gathered it's coaches and said that they did everything they could to try and save the Big XII, but were unsuccessful. Chip also said that from what he is hearing, like the member Blaze stated, Texas will not be leaving the Big XII all alone. Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Colorado will be joining them in the PAC-10. What does this mean? For one thing, this all but assures that Notre Dame will be joining the Big Ten. They have to, just for survival. Notre Dame has prided itself as be an independent, but even the Irish are not blind to the future. If they are left out of this massive shift in the college football landscape, they will never be a top-tier program again. The only way for Notre Dame to survive as they wish to survive, as a big-name college football program, is to join a super-conference. This also means that any team not plucked from the dying conferences will be relegated to second-tier status, and never have an opportunity to vie for a national championship (or receive anything close to "big-time" money). The Big Ten will not stop at Nebraska and Notre Dame, especially if the PAC-10 does take 6 new schools. This will also force the SEC's hand as far as expansion, and they will most likely raid the ACC. What we're looking at in college football is three Super-Conferences that will dominate the landscape, and the leftovers from the world before the cosmic shift, the ghosts of college football past.
  13. ESPN is saying it's done, and that Nebraska has accepted the invitation from the Big Ten. Look for all the dominoes to start falling quickly. The feeding frenzy is about to begin.
  14. Anybody got pictures of said Dallas Jerseys?
  15. If the Big Ten takes three Big East schools, i can see the Irish coming in and bumping Missouri to get into the Big Ten.
  16. Looking at some of the other message boards and the people inhabiting those places, i'll take that as a compliment. All faults and "I-Love-The-Smell-Of-My-Own-Farts" members aside, this place is one of the more rational, respectable places to discuss sports and sports-related topics. I am sorry you do not like it here.
  17. To me it's looking like Pitt, Syracuse and Rutgers are the obvious choices if the Big Ten raids the Big East, effectively ending the Big East as an athletic entity. If The Big Ten decides to pick from multiple conferences, who knows how it will all end up...
  18. Another question: Will the Big Ten change their name? Or will they shoehorn a "12" into the logo? What names could be used? Big Midwest Conference Great 12 Conference The Western Conference Big North Conference The Northern Conference Anything?
  19. Notre Dame makes the most sense, but they still may decline. My maybes include: West Virgina Cincinnati Pittsburgh Missouri Iowa State Louisville Long Shots: Syracuse Rutgers
