  1. #1 is my favorite too. I think it'd look really great in person, with the stripes on the pants and socks more visible. 2 is fantastic as well. Great stuff
  2. Tried that way too, but it just read as "TAX" lol. Could work though, just tough to get past preconceptions!
  3. Thanks! Yeah, definitely would have been something like Austin Weird. Appreciate it. I didn't realize until after zooming out and looking at the crest small on the jersey, but churchy also crossed my mind. I just said fuggit and went ahead with it. I tried making the tree going right into the T (see below) but I think the T gets too lost unless you're lookin for it. I hear ya. I liked the idea of it just being a tree on the front of their jersey, but when I did that and made it green all I saw was broccoli, and imagined all our Texan rivals calling us the broccoli lol. So I'm keepin' it black and adding the verde elsewhere. So with all that said, my fears about it looking like a religious logo have been realized! So I made a few tweaks. Felt like anything I did with the T going into the tree would have that problem, unless it was a serif. So I dropped the ATX and went with just A (our supporters call the club ATXFC and AFC interchangeably). Though I prefer including ATX, clearly it wasn't working. Hope this is looking better! Plus, a bonus third kit! Here are just a few of the variations on the oak tree I tried out.
  4. Howdy y'all! Back here with a little concept I whipped up last night while thinking of ways I could make my own retro Austin FC jersey. Of course, the club was only established a couple years ago. But what if they were founded in the 60's or 70's? Sports branding back then was so clean and simple, with a little hint of whimsy. No fluff, no sponsors on the gorgeous shirts, let your colors and a simple shirt styling do the talking (like Arsenal's white sleeves, Ajax's red bar, Barca's stripes, etc). I love the grackle imagery and wish they had leaned more into that (and that was my initial idea for a design), but I've grown to love the live oak tree motif they use in their beautiful branding today (plus the fans love the tree, so I've gotta include it, even if I prefer the grackle). So I retrofied the oak tree while creating a simple ATX monogram to pair with it in a badge. Had to do something with a grackle though, so that would be a secondary logo, perhaps on the shorts or back of the jersey. Who knows, it's all make believe! Home jersey keeps the vertical stripes, and for the away I went with a sash to keep a bit consistent with verde/black stripes. Plus, every team should use a sash I think. Shorts are the same for both kits because this is the 70's, they can't afford two pairs of shorts! And I've got my lil' player showing off the kit below. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you dig the concept. I'm hoping to use the logos at least on a custom fauxback jersey so I'll post that if I end up getting it done too.
  5. I think I'm more drawn to the logo on the right, though not totally sold on the dotted lines. Can't help shake the feeling that it's a golf team! haha Love the Argyle name, great typeface choice, and the template looks ace, excited to see what more you have for it.
  6. Really creative series, love seeing your sketches and them come to life on the jersey. I would love to see that Lions and Tinmen uniform in real life haha.
  7. Wow dude, brilliant stuff. Combining all of those elements from past Leeds badges is no simple task but you did it beautifully, creating something wholly unique and new. I love their current colors but yours are again unique and new, with a dash of class - that bronze color is something else. I'd rock that jersey in a heartbeat (and not just cause it's bird-themed). Only thing I'm not sold on is the cursive in the logo, but that's just because I hate all-caps script fonts (but I see why you did it). Sutton is another gorgeous simplification. I'll parrot what I said above - bravo. Ipswich is fantastic, really dig the wave pattern on the sleeves. Only way I could see it improved is if the tail was longer, and maybe turn his head to be a full 90' down (rather than tilted inward), to increase the negative space between his head and neck. I'm not sure I can go back and comment on every one of your lovely designs, but thanks for sharing all this though, these are the high quality concepts I come here for. Hull City, Monaco, and Roma are all tops too.
  8. Beautiful DC kit and badge update. I'd love if they went full out like that. The only thing I'm unsure of on the design is the placement and size of the stars in the badge, they're much smaller than anything else on it and feel tacked on as a result. Always love seeing your unique takes on these clubs though.
  9. I'm with Discrim, I'd wear the hell out of that Tottenham third (though I may tear off the crest). As an Arsenal supporter – love what you've done with the crest (you're right, it's totally stuck in mid-2000s. Not bad, just not inspiring). Agree with vtgco about the sleeves on the home, but those 2nd and 3rd are sublime. Seriously dig the Ajax kit too, great update on the crest and the XXX down the middle are a lovely touch. Great work, love seeing what you come up with!
  10. Really sending me down nostalgia lane with those hall of fame threads! I remember those fondly, really kept me going wanting to make concepts and were always a great inspiration (although I know I haven't been very active the past few years). Great idea to show everyone what a great project truly is. Congratulations!
  11. "NBA ones are perfect" Perfectly awful. I wouldn't spend $2 on this garbage, let alone $20. http://www.stajump.net/nba-jerseys/boston-celtics/36-oneal-white-jerseys meh, the ones I have look great in person. No one outside of the boards would be able to tell any differences. Definitely worth it IMO to save the $80+ more you'd have to spend for a "real" one
  12. stajump.net not sure if it's been mentioned here before. great site. every jersey is $20. only gotten NFL and NBA ones. NFL is nearly perfect authentic style with tackle twill numbers, sometimes colors are off though. NBA ones are perfect, I would never buy any other jersey after getting the ones there. Large collection and they look and fit great in person.
  13. what IS on my mind?! INCEPTION

  14. WORLD CUP CRAZY

  15. What's the best way to go about drop-shadowing text like this?
  16. Alright got a question. Sometimes I want to put a pattern/texture on one of my jerseys or shorts, to differentiate what part is mesh, etc (I've noticed you, Bucco, do this sometimes). There HAS to be an easier way to do it than what I've been doing. I just make a dot (or stripe), copy paste move it, copy paste move it, again and again about 100 times, it's a pain in the ass. Is there a way to maybe (I'm assuming you'd have to do it this way) draw a shape, and make the dots/stripes a pattern and just have that shape fill with it? Here's some pics to show what I mean...
  17. THere's a good t-shirt template on vectorportal.com, under TEMPLATES. It's the one I use.
  18. That Rays one is reeeeal nice. I love ones that have just a hint of color in them.
  19. What's the font used for the text on Twitter example: http://twitter.com/the_real_shaq On the very right where it says "489 Following | 545,792 Followers" etc mainly just looking for what font the number is Thanks
  20. Thanks, but I meant this one.
  21. Does anybody have swiss' baseball template in .ai or .svg?
  22. Been wondering that same thing hooligan. I know you can use Offset Path and the stroke stays the same in proportion to the logo resizing (as opposed to just using a regular stroke), but I'd love to know the same thing.
  23. Thank you scotty. Always helpin me
  24. Stupid question, but on Illustrator CS1, for some reason I'm not able to resize/rotate an object. It just comes up with all the solid blue points, with no surrounding box to edit the size, etc. I realize I can use the free transform tool, but that'd be a pain. It showed the resize box always before, but just recently stopped. How can I fix it?
