Non-sports logos that could be good sports logos?

Adding another: How about the b-rabbit part of the Blue Bunny Ice Cream logo? For a baseball team called the rabbits or something based in a city that starts with B? -

Here's a trucking company I see frequently. Looks like, but isn't exactly like, Towson University's tiger -

The Chicago Cardinals borrowed their uniforms, IIRC, from the previously-mentioned U. of Chicago Maroons.

I randomly found this: Without the text, this works. This is the logo for TAAG Angola Airlines. -
I vaguely remember there being a thread about non-sports logos that would make for good sports logos. I can't find it on the search. Can someone link me to it?

Add the old Winston-Salem State Rams logo:

Division 1 College Conference Realignment

Again though, BC is also a private, Catholic institution, so they would fit in the Big East as far as being similar to the other schools. They'd also make for a nice travel partner for Providence. UConn is a flagship state school. That doesn't fit in the BE. -

The Big East, though, is exclusively private institutions, and all but one of them (Butler) are Catholic. UConn as an institution doesn't fit in the Big East. The problem is, they have no other real good home except the AAC, unless it's maybe the ACC. They're otherwise too big and would never sign off on the A-10, CAA, or some other regional conference that fits. -
Both of these are Rickabaugh designs, as is the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat logo

According to Wikipedia, the reserve team did get relegated to Bayernliga Süd, which is the level below the parent club.

Even so, how much transition is actually necessary? Conference schedules are done by the conference, OOC shouldn't be affected. Maybe signage and such, but what else? -

GCU basketball would probably be the 4th- or 5th-best team in the WCC right now. -

Exactly. Look at the membership now: CSUB - a recently-transitioned from D2 Chicago State - terrible budget and possibly could close entirely Grand Canyon - for profit university transitioning from D2 UMKC - also-ran in most things NMSU - basketball and little else Seattle - came from the Great West and has been D1 for less than a decade UTRGV - an also-ran UVU - a recent JUCO that moved up and now Cal Baptist from D2. Half of the membership is recent D2 callups. The rest is rejects. I doubt anybody is happy in the WAC. I do feel for Hawaii, as their distance makes them struggle to maintain a D1 program. -

Then in that case, a joint bid with CSUB would be great. CSUB's basketball is probably good enough to sneak an at-large bid every now and then. Hawaii in the Big West is just odd, but where would you put them? The WAC? I think it'd be cool if the Big West were a California public university-based conference, since there are so many. -

I knew about the expiration date, but I didn't know about the conference-specificity of the referendum. I wonder if they tried to do a general D-1 referendum if it would pass. -

It's clear the Big West doesn't want them. Why don't they try to join the WAC? It might not be the best fit overall, but they still would have two other local partners in CSUB and California Baptist. -

Jacksonville won't do it. That's a big reason why Kerwin Bell isn't the coach there anymore. He claims they told him they'd start to offer scholarships and reneged on that.
