    For the sake of avoiding realignment, I figure Florida goes to Quebec and Arizona to Seattle. We might just have wait it out but it will happen eventually. Then you can move Columbus to the Atlantic and rename that division the Northeast. Move Tampa Bay to the Metro and rename that division the Atlantic.

    Now according to reports it might be a 4 team expansion with Las Vegas, Seattle, Toronto and Quebec City. I'm sure the expansion fees are nice but Bettman has truly lost his mind if this is true. 34 NHL teams. Really.

    The article at si.com says it's pretty much a done deal for an expansion team. There is an arena under construction in Vegas by the way. So Vegas & Seattle as possible expansion teams in 2016-2017 with Arizona & Florida relocating to Portland & Quebec City down the road?

    Remember this is the NHL we are talking about . So it makes perfect sense to expand to 32 teams. Common sense doesn't exist in Gary Bettman's dictionary.

    Wasn't it true that Bettman and the owners steered Winnipeg & Hartford away from Minneapolis-St. Paul in hopes of landing an expansion team there, which they did with the Wild. Now we're stuck with the endless Coyotes saga and Raleigh seems ok for now but who knows.

    Bettman and the B.O.G. will probably steer the Yotes towards Vegas instead of Portland, Quebec or Seattle. Yeah Vegas is building a new arena but there is no predicting how an NHL team would do in Vegas but the odds are not good. But you never know.

    Read that this morning in the SF Chronicle. Yeah pretty much Mayor Quan, the Oakland City Council and the Coliseum Joint Powers Authority are all nitwits. By the way Mark Davis shouldn't be owning a pro sports franchise much less anything else.

    I'd say just the opposite... the Raiders are a much bigger part of Oakland's civic identity than the A's; even if the Raiders haven't been so great lately. 81 home dates vs. 10 home dates pretty much favors the A's in my book. Just my opinion.
