  1. We're in the home stretch now. Our 30th team is the Washington Capitals.

I explored a few different paths with this one. Originally planning to make the Retro colours the Primary set, but I realized I've done very few teams with Red home uniforms so I decided to keep the current colours. I also explored the '23 stadium series set in different colours, but didn't like the results. Ended up with a simple, more traditional set that was based on the stadiums, but with normal proportions and slightly adjusted the stripes on the arms.

The alternate uniform is a set I've always wanted to see. The eagle on a black uniform seems much cooler to me than the Capital logo, and the slate blue is very unique, I wanted it to play a larger role in the set over the metallic bronze. Love how this one came out.

I have some fresh ideas in mind for the Wings and Panthers, so it may take me a little longer for these last 2, just due to the increased scope of work. Looking forward to finishing this series out strong!

  2. Managed to fire these variants out quick. Not sold on the Chief head logo on the front. I think it would look better with the roundel like the throwback uniforms, but I do quite like the colourful C logo, as it ties the secondary logos in better. Also enabled the flag on the inside of the collar

I've always wanted to see the Tomahawk C on the front of the Blackhawks jersey. But I don't think you have to reinvent the wheel with the striping... changing it brings this into "too much change" territory.  I also don't think it's necessary to get away from the gold C.

But if you're gonna get rid of the chief, put the Chicago flag on the shoulders. Either the standard one, or the one with black stripes.

That's fair, however I want to try to stay away from just doing "this jersey is perfect as is so Im not going to touch it" I think the only one I've really done that with is the Habs away. It's subtle but the same basic striping pattern (from the home uniforms at least) is still there, but the black and white are reversed. I played around with the Chicago flag on the inside of the collar, but I didn't really like how it turned out, and having it on the shoulders is a bit too much of a clash...similar to the Flames previous set.

I'll whip up a few different variations of this set. I knew it would be contentious haha. You may be right with the gold C, so that's one avenue I'd like to go down. Made sure to keep it with the alternate, but I always loved the black and red C on the shoulders of their throwback alternate set from the early 2010s

  4. Chicago up now, and this was definitely a challenging one.

I adore their current set (despite hating the Hawks as a Canucks fan) and I don't necessarily think they need to change the primary logo, however, they do seem to be featuring the logo less and less whenever they can. I wanted to do something familiar that still feels unmistakably like the Blackhawks, while still going in a totally new direction.

  5. Big drop incoming. I am going to keep the descriptions short.

The Rangers have iconic uniforms, however, I'm not a big fan of scripts over logos. The Liberty logo is great. I ended up simplifying the outlines and for the jerseys themselves, they are meant to be a combination of the classic set with the liberty uniforms. The inside of the collar features the New York Skyline.

    Islanders.

The Islanders logo is another classic, but its suuuper dated looking. The Fisherman has had a bit of resurgence as of late, but their recent implementation for the reverse retros missed the mark a bit. The logo has been recoloured in Royal and Orange. The alternate uniform brings back the teal and makes the striping a bit less janky and weird-looking.

    Stadium Series

The Islanders bring their unused Brooklyn Bridge Anchor logo for this New York match-up. The uniform is inspired by the black and white uniforms from when they played out of Brooklyn, but using Navy and white, with Royal Blue striping and small bits of orange trim.

The Rangers throw back to the New York Americans, but in a more modern way. The beloved script logo makes a return here as well.

  6. Flyers + Stadium Series up next.

This was a tough one for me, as their recent change is probably exactly what I would have done a few months ago. Messed around with a few different designs until I settled on the Sens alternate template. After making some adjustments I think it ended up as a design that suits the Flyers and remains fresh, while still being recognizable as a Flyers jersey.

The alternate is basically an inverse of their current alt set, with the addition of a shoulder yoke.

    Stadium Series

Since I initially forgot to make the Devils stadium series set earlier in the summer, I've been holding off until the Flyers were done.

I definitely wanted to do a color on color (black in this case) matchup since they always look so good. The Devils keep it fairly traditional, as they usually do, and the Flyers is a small homage to the old 3D logo third jersey

Up next will be the two remaining New York teams + their stadium series designs. Look for that in around a week or so!

  7. Back from the dead. Was on my ass with the flu the last week so I was pretty slow when working on this next concept. We have the Tampa Bay Lightning up now.

Nothing groundbreaking, but I think this would be their ideal set. I did go back and forth between some of the various logos they've used in the past, but I think after winning 2 cups in 3 straight finals appearances makes this the Lightnings de-facto identity now.

I did keep with their more traditional look, but went away from the whole Maple Leafs cosplay identity, as well as swapping out their current blue with a lighter electric blue which I think looks unreal against the black.

As for the alternate, if you can't already tell, I LOVE simple, bold designs like this. The '22 stadium series set gets a lot of flack, but I think it is the perfect alternate uniform for the Bolts.

  8. Time for Ottawa. The series will slow down as I have caught up to my backlog of completed concepts, but here is the most recent completed concept.

Ottawa is pretty straightforward. Use their OBJECTIVELY best logo, on a simple set. The stripe pattern is inspired by their SENS alternate uniform, which I think had some unique elements to it despite being a product of the Reebok edge era.

The alternate uniform is a mish-mash of the Barberpole alternate and the mid 2000s home uniform. I always thought the striping on the sleeves was really unique and looked great, however I could do without the big swoosh in the middle of the uniform.

  9. Here's Seattle. They already have a pretty great set, so there isn't too much of a change here. The only difference is the tentacle pattern in the sleeve striping.

*There is a small mistake on the Home uniform, but due to the new PC switch, I don't have all of my fonts downloaded, so I'll eventually have to take an hour or so and track down everything I was using for any concepts I need to make adjustments on.

The alternate uniform leans into the stormy PNW ocean vibes and I love the way it turned out.

The Winter Classic utilizes the leaked logo and throws back to the Seattle Metropolitans, even down to the pants and glove colours

  10. Blues are up.

They currently wear modern classics. Decided to go in a completely different direction using Light Blue as the primary colour, and relegating Royal blue to the pants and helmet for a little bit of contrast.

The alternate uniform retains the same striping pattern but uses a more typical colour balance to their current set

  11. Flames up next.

They are a team with two equally amazing looks, so I wanted to challenge myself to go down the hardest path (well second hardest, the pedestal is irredeemable) and try to make something based on their early 2000s look work.

Black plays the main role here. I think the new Blasty uniforms are amazing. The logo is just one I've never loved, so it was removed entirely from the design. Black plays a bigger role in the away uniforms as well. I've always thought that when the Flames used black, it looked best when they used a lot of it, and the away uniforms were always my least favorite because of it.

The alternate uses a darker red, as well as introduces burnt orange into the scheme. When I think of Alberta that's exactly the color that pops into my head, and it plays nicely while providing some contrast between the yellow and white. The unused cowboy-skate logo makes an appearance as a secondary mark in the new colours as well.

The Heritage uniform is another faux-back, but yellow plays a very minor role in the uniform here. I think this would be a great combo with the Oilers heritage vibe, with both uniforms looking like something from the 60s

  12. Give a suggestion then. 🙃

The side panels are pulled from the current set. I wanted to keep the angular striping but didn't want the asymmetrical look of the original jerseys, but made less of an eyesore. All of the colours are found on the current logo, just with Orange replacing the yellow in the sticks, and is relegated to a small amount of trim in the set. The black is used to provide contrast to the orange. If you have any ideas I'd be all ears.

Here is a version with the orange reduced to a minimal level.

  13. It's Duck Time.

The goal for this concept was to lean into the orange full-time. I don't hate the D logo, so I decided to give it a fair shot on a good jersey for once. The striping pattern is fairly modern and pays homage to the original Anaheim Ducks with the swooping stripes. The Mighty Duck logo returns with simplified, bolder outline.

The alternate keeps it simple, while it's not a 1:1 copy of the original uniforms, swapping out the silver for orange is a nice way to tie together both identities

  14. Up next we have the Dallas Stars.

I LOVE the Stars uniforms. Probably top 3 in the NHL for me personally, but they're one of the teams that have a clear direction they should move to if they were ever to switch, and almost every Stars concept I find does the same thing. I wanted to go a different path this time.

I did bring back the Stars previous color scheme, but kept the current lighter green. The overall colour balance is similar to the Star uniform set, leaning a bit more into the black than their present look.

The current alternates are very fresh and modern, so I decided to pivot back to more of a retro look, with a bit of a callback to the North Stars, and using their Winter Classic branding. I also use the San Diego Padres font which I think is absolutely PERFECT for the set. Probably my favorite font pairing to a kit of the entire series so far.

  15. As promised, up next is the Sharks.

This is a bit of a funny one to me, as it's the rebrand I did last year when their current look was unveiled. However, this look has actually really grown on me to become one of my top 5 in the league.

I always thought the Sharks would look great with a light gold colour in place of orange, as it really sells the whole beach vibes. The primary and secondary logos are completely original with small modifications from my previous post almost a year ago.

The Alternate set is the one big change I made from the previous concept post, which was actually received very well, I wanted to go in another direction as I didn't really love it. It's a bit more of a standard sharks look, but the arm stripes evoke the imagery of Sharks teeth.

  16. God that white jersey is PERFECT. I would buy one to wear and one to frame if I could. I'm also a huge fan of the Orca, I'd maybe switch the silver and red, and then make the silver a bit more prominent and hit it with the shimmer treatment. That would be unreal
