  1. It definitely looks more like the classic Montreal Impact, but it really could have been executed better. Why is the Fleur de Lis cut off??? Why is there a circle behind the shield???

  2. The Devils jersey is such a joke. The fanbase has wanted a black alternate for yearssss. It's so easy to make a good black Devils jersey, there are tons of concepts. Somehow they came up with this.

What are the stripes? "Homage to the Newark Bulldogs" Why? A team that played one season in 1928?  They have no significance whatsoever. I have never heard one Devils fan or hockey fan in the area ever mention them.

The 5 stripes  at the top represent the 5 retired banners? what? Nobody thinks of the Devils and thinks OH YES, the team with 5 retired jerseys! If anything, the 3 Cups would have made more sense...

The best one is the "21 stripes representing the 21 NJ counties" lol...who even knew there were 21 counties in NJ? That is not something people keep track of. Not to mention - South Jersey is a lot of Philly fans as it is closer to Philadelphia than Newark.

Just a complete miss all around. It has no connection to the Devils whatsoever. I can't believe after 40 years of no alternate jersey, this is what they came up with lol and now they have to wear it for 3+ years.

Oh I forgot to mention: very clever idea of them to have Brodeur be the poster boy for the jersey so fans *might* not hate on is as much. smh

I may be on an island on this one, but at no point during his career did I consider Eli to be an elite QB...good, at times great, but certainly not elite--and definitely not elite enough to have his jersey number retired.  But then...the man did win two Superb Owls as the QB of a New York team that, now that I think about it, really hadn't had a good-to-great long-tenured starting star QB since, what, Phil Simms?? So I guess based off that they're gonna vote him into the Oprah Winfrey Pro Football Hall of Fame too, huh?

(Of course, those are just my two rusted Lincolns on the matter...)

It's a common debate in NY if he should be in the HOF, for reasons you stated.  But Jersey retirement - there is no debate. He is Giant legend.

The NY Giants' white pants aren't good. The helmet and blue jersey are very plain and traditional, while the white pants with red, gray and blue stripes are showy and clash with the other elements.

They are OK. But i find myself missing the grey pants. It was unique to the Giants.

  5. This is just sad.

These are the kinds of banners you'd see for franchises who've won a championship, maybe two, tops. But hey; management has to find someway, anyway, to bring Devils fans to Newark this season.

They just had it there for that one game. They are definitely not hanging it up permanently.
