  1. I somehow missed you saying this over the weekend but you are 100% correct. A friend send me this over the weekend: Kinda crazy that they'll be gone for over 20 years (they're returning in 2026) yet, despite being gone that long, they'll still have some of the most wins as an engine manufacturer
  2. I actually agree . I didn't mean anything negative by "it's no surprise". its kinda like the red wings in hockey.....if it aint broke
  3. Not that it's a surprise but....No major changes for Red Bull
  4. Just as a summery (way easier than typing it)
  5. I wouldn't let them wear it anyway! So bad! Oh you know they will!
  6. Oh we doing this? I have triplets turning 2 in April......all the merch please! But seriously, big congrats @LMU!
  7. That TFC Jersey looks like they started an onyx/grey hoop kit and said ":censored:, we're out of those colours" for the shoulders so they just used red. Really fast but............replace that grey with red and it looks less like 2 patterns sew together randomly.
  8. mine too. As much as I just want the powder to go away
  9. A quick overview on the rule changes for 2023. I'm excited for more sprint races. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.from-cutting-curfews-to-grid-penalties-10-rule-changes-you-need-to-know.5EN5ENd23oOqFDnw8fD0rp.html
  10. If his chances weren't good before.....I'd say they are zero now. He's taken to criticizing F1 now. https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/12783778/michael-andretti-slams-formula-1-greed-amid-cadillac-entry-row-mclaren-and-alpine-are-allies
  11. More on MSL from the LAX mag here The short of it is that it seems all but certain that the Excelsiors will be the Brampton team name and that neither Owen Sound or Brampton are paying an expansion fee. The other note is that Oakville has asked for a second 1-year hiatus so they are not allowed to participate in the draft but can protect 4 junior A graduates. Looks like MSL will be a 6 team league this year and potentially a 7 team league in 2024.
  12. While it's not 100% clear (the club says they were established in 1883 but 1912 seems to be the further record kept) there is over 110 years behind that name, 140 if the 1883 date is to be believed. Let's call a spade a spade: they could go on with a different nickname and logo but it would be a big disappointment.
  13. It looks like the Owen Sound/Brampton issues that almost put the 2022 MSL season on the shelf are resolved. The Peterborough Examiner had an article about this earlier in December and the league (see below picture) announced this as well. Still not sure if Brampton can use the Excelsiors name
  14. The good news continues! I read Vegas drew over 7000 as well.
  15. Well.... 2022 is in the books. Max won again. To date Aston Martin is the only team that announced their car launch date: Feb 13. There's been a good amount of seat changes: Red Bull is keeping Max Verstappen (of course) and Sergio Perez but, of note, they brought back Daniel Ricciardo as the reserve driver. Ferrari's seats aren't changing. 3 years in a row it's been Charles LeClerc and Carlos Sainz. Their big news is that brought in Fred Vasseur from Alfa Romeo to replace Binotto as the team principal. Mercedes has Lewis Hamilton and George Russell driving again. Much like Red Bull, they brought in someone who had a seat last year to be the reserve driver in Mick Schumacher. 2022 was the first year Hamilton failed to get a pole or victory and I think this will be a story to watch this year, was it a bad year or are we seeing Hamilton coming towards the end? Alpine retained Esteban Ocon but added Pierre Gasly. Will be interesting to see if Gasly succeeds away from the Red Bull teams. With Dannyric gone, Oscar Piastri joins Lando Norris at McLaren. There was a lot of controversy around Piastri joining McLaren from the Alpine academy product being announced as getting the seat for Alpine earlier in the year and him denying that. There's a lot of promise around him, should be interesting to see if it materializes. Alfa Romeo had a strong start to 2022 and ended up in 6th and they'll stay with Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu. Fernando Alonso did not hide his displeasure with Alpine and now he's getting a new start with Aston Martin. Lance Stroll was unsurprisingly retained. Haas is a team that just can't seem to find stability. They added Kevin Magnussen last year upon dropping Nikita Mazepin and Uralkali due to Russian ties (as per the board rules, let's not talk about that. I only mention it because it's a fact) and then they decided to part ways with Mick Shumacher at the end of the season and brought in Nico Hulkenberg. People immediately brought up the "suck my balls" incident so it will be interesting to see if Haas has a pair of drivers who will get along this season or not. AlfaTauri retained Yuki Tsunoda who will be joined by rookie Nyck de Vries. de Vries subbed in for Alex Albon at the Italian Grand Prix and scored points by finishing in 9th so he'll be another interesting story to follow. Alex Albon remains at William who have added rookie Logan Sargeant who spent 1 full year in F2. There will be 6 sprint races this year up from the 3 they had last year. Also a Las Vegas GP has been added this year while the Chinese GP has been cancelled.
  16. I'm being a total hypocrite, because I've said exactly what you are saying in the past. I get that sentiment 100%. It just bugs me that teams don't use their primary look as much as possible. More so last season than ever because I hate the current TFC secondary (which is primarily white, I know, I know, I'm contradicting myself). For example, this game happened in July last year. There is no reason, in my old-school brain, that TFC should not be wearing red in that game. I just figure teams will be kind of forced to wear their primary as much as possible by having a very similar/boring clash options.
  17. With MLS eventually going to 30, maybe 32 teams there's almost not way to avoid an actual clash at some point. While I have previously said I dislike the idea of going white heavy It would make sense to me if MLS just said all teams wear their primary and all clash should be white. I'd really like MLS to lean on a primary look and a clash as opposed to home/away/3rd. I might just be old school. Excuse me while I yell at some kids to get off my lawn.
