  1. Hotshots and Hotshots Part Duex! Are funny slapstick movies. Go Wildcats! Beat the Wildcats! /Simpsons reference
  2. That's understandable about the Vipers nickname situation. Out of the alternative names, Cobras or Scorpions sound good. I thought maybe Gila Monsters could work too but not sure if the NBA is ready for a two word team nickname, haha. The revised Western Conference Divisional format can work. It's refreshing to not see all the Californian teams in one division.
  3. That's a good list. A couple of questions/comments: The mention of Vipers brought to mind the now-defunct XFL team from Las Vegas. Are you contemplating opting for an alternative nickname, or do you intend to stick with the Vipers? In the Northwest Division, there are three newly added expansion teams, the highest number among all divisions. Have you considered relocating one of these expansion teams to a different division? I love seeing the Spirits back in the NBA and great alternative name choice for Memphis (I remember it was a soccer team name in the 1990s).
  4. I didn't watch the match, but kudos to Montreal Impact / Club de Foot Montréal / CF Montréal for being the first MLS squad to vanquish Inter Messi CF 3-2 on Sunday.
  5. Interesting team nickname for Portland!
  6. Great choices, especially for the NFC options!
  7. That's a fun alignment! What cities would you choose for expansion in those divisions that have new teams?
  8. I wouldn't stomach the Blackhawks if they "won" the draft again this year.
  9. The UEFA Champions League stands out as the sole major soccer (football) league that comes to mind for me.
  10. Currently, there's no fifth major league. MLS has the potential to become the fifth major league should they capitalize on the 2026 World Cup craze by evolving into the league where top talent come to play while in their prime instead of players coming here to bookend their professional careers after playing in Europe.
  11. The original NASL relied on expansion fees towards the end of the league's demise. MLS has ballooned from 12 clubs in 2006 to 30 clubs by the 2025 season. I'm just wondering how MLS will sustain itself if and when it's finished expanding. There's always the potential of an MLS, Liga MX, and maybe a CanPL merger in the future.
  12. Mantha traded to VGK for 2 picks (a 2024 2nd round pick and a 2026 4th round pick) and Kuznetsov is in the AHL for now (honestly hope he gets the help he needs). Update: Kuzy traded to division rival CAR The remaining 2 predictions are long shots.
  13. That's an interesting perspective regarding Milwaukee. A natural divisional rivalry could emerge between them and Minnesota.
  14. That's a fair question. I was trying to solve the "4 teams in Texas" problem and overthought the situation. I saw that San Antonio was the furthest "West". Vegas in the Pacific makes more sense. Thinking this through, I would stack Austin, Houston, and San Antonio in the Central; move Dallas to the Northwest to maintain the Avs-Stars and Stars-Wild rivalry; which allows me to move Vegas to the Pacific.
  15. Hey @TrueYankee26, here's my take on your NHL 2054 if the league had 3 divisions in each conference. Northeast Atlantic Southeast Central Northwest Pacific Boston Baltimore Atlanta Austin Calgary Anaheim Buffalo Columbus Carolina Chicago Colorado Los Angeles Hartford Kentucky Florida Houston Dallas Phoenix Detroit New Jersey Nashville Indianapolis Edmonton Portland Montreal New York I. Norfolk Milwaukee Kansas City San Jose Ottawa New York R. Orlando New Orleans Minnesota Seattle Quebec City Philadelphia Tampa Bay San Antonio Utah Vancouver Toronto Pittsburgh Washington St. Louis Winnipeg Vegas
  16. Now thst makes sense to some degree. Does the Meadowlands have space for a baseball stadium?
  17. There's absolutely no chance that the Northeast Megapolis will add five new MLB teams 30 years from now. It's crazy to imagine having two (three?) teams in the Philadelphia area and two teams in Washington, DC!
  18. I'll root for anyone to win MLS Cup this year except for the following clubs (I have my own reasons): Atlanta, Austin FC, LAFC, Inter Miami, NYCFC, and Seattle.
  19. Some sports sites have said the deal has "hit a roadblock" instead of saying the deal "is dead". Regardless how the media spins it, the Caps and Wiz should stay where they are in DC.
  20. If I remember correctly, the Nats Front Office was considering Senators as the team name back in 2004. However, it was ruled out since DC doesn't have any voting representation in the Senate. I agree with you about using the Grays nickname, which was a missed opportunity.
  21. An even more stupid name is "Phillies" which is a short name for "Philadelphias". In essence, the Southeast Pennsylvania ballclub is called the Philadelphia Philadelphias.
  22. The new Nats away and 3rd jerseys are garbage. They give off a "discounted Walmart merchandise" vibe.
