  1. It's......not too bad, actually. Granted the name is still the all-too-formulaic CITY ADJECTIVE PLURAL NOUN that's been infesting the minor leagues in recent years, but I like the clever nod to the prior identity by giving the guy a Dale Earnhardt mustache. (That along with the stealth 3 in the B.) Plus the historical nod to the Cannon textile mill works. I'd be really interested to see the rest of the logo set.
  2. Anybody else tiring of the <<CITY>> <<ADJECTIVE>> <<ANIMAL(S)>> MiLB team name formula yet? Because I am.
  3. It'll be "Huntsville" or "Madison" within two years, because people who don't know better will plug "Rocket City" in their GPS and not find it. (Precedent: the "Hardware City" Rock Cats, which lasted two seasons before becoming "New Britain" because nobody outside New Britain knew what "Hardware City" WAS.)
  4. Maybe. The Red Claws' current home, the Expo, seats about 3100. The Cross Insurance Arena seats about double that (numbers per Wikipedia). They could move in there (better location downtown the biggest plus), but I think the more intimate confines of the Expo might be more cost-effective.
  5. Those aren't bad, but I really hope that "Hardware City" jersey is a home alternate. Part of the reason the New Britain Rock Cats switched from Hardware City was nobody outside of New Britain knew what it meant.
  6. That set's perfect for a Cardinals affiliate like....oh, what? They're a Reds affiliate? Yeah.
  7. We'll know for sure on the 23rd. If it is, it's not bad. But looks more appropriate for a Cardinals affiliate, which Louisville is not.
  8. Pics of the actual home and road. The wordmarks aren't as large as shown on the mock-up.
  9. Per their Twitter account, the Hartford Yard Goats will unveil their uniforms next Tuesday.
  10. News from Yard Goats land, as they unveiled their two (yes, two!) mascots today. Say hello to Chompers and Chew Chew:
  11. HURR DURR WHERE'S THE ASTERISK HURR DURR (Figured I'd get that in now before any of you got any ideas. )
  12. Didn't want to pollute the Ohio State TV number thread with this, but it fits here: The large TV numbers tOSU had in the 90's look dumb.
  13. Alternate mark revealed this afternoon by Brandiose via Twitter. I'd assume this is a sleeve patch.
  14. @DaytonBlue - I don't think it is...I've seen a wordmark graphic out there the mothership doesn't have yet. I'd be shocked if there wasn't any bat-swinging goat. @sc49erfan - I thought at first glance the H was designed to evoke the Memorial Arch in Bushnell Park, but it could just be an H with goat horns. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, it's this:
  15. Whalers colors, BTW. Smart marketing. The fact the Hartford script is a perfect match for the railroad logo is inspired. It's not just old-timey for the sake of being old-timey. Brandiose hit a (ahem) home run here IMO.
  16. Per the team's Twitter, the Hartford Yard Goats will unveil their logos on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Odds on an anthropomorphic goat being a part of the package: 2:1.
  17. Yes, but Springfield isn't owned by an NHL team. Unless the Yotes buy the Falcons, they're going nowhere. And it's bad optics for the franchise in the same city as your league offices to up and move because its parent club says so.
  18. Here's the update: Columbus - from Springfield to Lake Erie (confirmed) Arizona - from Portland to Springfield Colorado - from Cleveland to San Antonio Also in that (and I think we missed it), Florida has affiliated with Portland. I should note that these are all described as "multi-year affiliations", which means we can forget about Springie moving west anytime soon. sauce: http://theahl.com/falcons-monsters-rampage-swap-nhl-affiliates-p197468
