Here is a list of every team that will have to drop jerseys from their rotation to fit the new 4+1 rule:

    • Phillies (5)
    • Nationals (6?)
    • Braves (5)
    • Rays? (5 if the gradient throwback is included)
    • Pirates (5)
    • Diamondbacks (5)
    • Padres (5)
    • Rangers (5)

For some teams it's easy to imagine what will get dropped (Pirates Camo and one of the Padres Camo) but other teams will have a hard choice to make soon.

The Nationals technically have 6 uniforms, but only wear 4 (script white, W red, script navy, road) so they will probably continue what they've been doing.

Nats dropped the White "W", the Stars and Stripes White jersey, and the blue Stars and Stripes so they definitely only have four.

Padres probably drop the green camo and roll with the brown one.

Rangers probably drop gray (which is a mistake)

Braves, as far as I remember, no longer have the cream

Phillies probably drop the red alternate

Diamondbacks probably drop normal home white for the teal trim one...

As far as everything else goes, who knows what will happen

I read it the same  as @coco1997.  It's never said that teams will have to have 4+1, just sounds like that would be the maximum.

Now thinking about it, there are a few teams that will have to potentially unload a jersey.

    - Mariners (home, road, cream, navy, teal)

    - Red Sox (home, road, red, blue, Patriots Day?)

    - Rangers (home, road, light blue, royal, red)

    - D-Backs (home, road, home w/aqua, black, red)

    - Phillies (home, road, red, cream, blue throwback)

    - Pirates (home, road, white military, Pirates black, Pittsburgh black)

    - Blue Jays (home, road, royal, light blue, red?)

Boston:  Since this one is really only worn for one game, I could see an exception being made.
Toronto:  I'd be fine if the red went bye bye
Arizona:  I'm partial to all of them but if any go, it'd probably be the black alternate
Texas:  The red I think is gone
Philadelphia:  Red one I think is gone
Pittsburgh:  That camo one can go
Seattle:  I think the Cream goes but since the cap with that jersey has the 2023 ASG patch on it, I think that one stays.  If anything, that navy one needs to be fixed.  BADLY

Other than the Twins redesign and a few more City Connects, are any other teams rumored to be getting new unis/alternates for 2023?

There was a rumour going around the Diamondbacks Team Store that yet another uniform overhaul was coming but I don't think anything there is happening.

Something to keep an eye on is when a new ownership comes on board for the Angels and the Nationals, I would not be surprised if there are overhauls that come

    Going to rant here.

Many teams we can all guess with 99% accuracy. I do feel the Bears will go with Navy over white, but nothing is announced yet, it is a new HC so who knows how that person thinks and the team has worn all navy (beside the Color rush) in the last 5 years so until it is confirmed as to what they will wear it is TBD. I also feel in week 1 the Cardinals go red over white, KC goes white over red and Seattle goes all navy like they typically do at home, Miami will likely be in white over white but will the socks be aqua or white? Let’s face it all these teams have options and until announced could use those other options.

Some teams don't have options to their standard dark and white sets. Packers will be either Green over Yellow or White over yellow aside from the alt. They only have one pant and one sock outside the alt. If Giants aren’t wearing either of their alts they have one navy and one white look. Same with the Steelers and 49ers. If no Alt one dark and one white option. Pretty much true for the Colts too aside from the alts although they have been playing loose with socks the last few years. Some time solid, sometimes mid calf.

I don’t understand suddenly why the graphics I take the time to make and initially post impact if a person can state their thoughts or opinions prior to the game/announcement taking place. Why did having an actual combo posted mean people can state their opinion as to what it will be worn but if a TBD is posted then people suddenly can’t have an opinion on the match-ups but only on how I should post. It takes just as much time to post your thoughts on the match-ups as it does to give your commentary on what I should post.

Months before any games are played or match-ups posted once the schedule is announced and the thread is started people post their predictions for their team’s schedule for every week of the season, but now suddenly b/c TBDs are posted during the season it is preventing people from stating their opinion on games but instead on what I should post. Everyone can just as easily post which combo they feel will be worn instead of their opinion on the thread. I’d post a combo in the past and then update it when needed, and now I update the TBDs. What is the difference?

As I stated before predictions are not the intent of this also the post is the News section of the board and predictions aren’t news… what is actually worn each week is news/informative. If you all want just a prediction thread then go post one in the General discussion section.

This is all coming across as people saying to me “You are taking your time and effort to do all this work but it isn’t the way I want or like it so I’m going to complain about what you post instead of what I feel the match-up will be.” This self-serving, entitled, millennial mentality of this isn’t what I want so I’ll just complain is exhausting.

The numbers aren’t right, the TBDs aren’t what I want, etc, etc. Take a step back people and look at how you are all coming across. I hate how society has just turned into let me complain if things aren’t exactly the way I want it or like it even though I’m not doing the work.

If the complaining on this continues this will be the last season I spend my time, effort, and energy doing any of this. Thanks to everyone who helped ruin something I once enjoyed as a distraction from everyday life.

I love what you have been doing here @canzman

Here are the 5 known alt helmet shells that have been announced.

15 teams were reported to have alt shells in 2022. Here is my guess on the other 10 taking into account that the shell seems to have to be paired with an alternate uniform and not the standard home or away jersey. As well as taking into account some of the teams who have had their names come up.

    RzfLhsR.jpg

The Bengals long talked about white helmets won't be an option unless they also have an alternate white jersey. Not sure if the League would let them bring back the previous color rush jersey. If not I am guessing inverted shell...
    wvyvBhU.jpg

Red for Bills that will likely get paired with throwbacks in 2023.

    y3OVwtG.jpg

This would mean 6 black, 3 red, 2 white, 2 light blue, 1 navy, and 1 orange.

Houston should REALLY go with the original helmet unveiled...

At first I really thought it was due to the supply chain issue. Speaking of which, I think the Pirates still haven't worn their black home alt yet, the Cubbies still have yet to wear their city unis and the Rangers have yet to wear their red alt, either. But then I started thinking the Dodgers only wearing the 'Los Angeles' road jerseys this year in order to rep LA since the ASG is played here this year. Could just be coincidence though and maybe they did retire the 'Dodgers' grey jersey for '22. I liked the 'Dodgers' one since it reminded me of their look from the '70s to '90s, but I know how some people really disliked that they had made the original intended 'Dodgers' road alt as their primary road once it was introduced and made the primary 'Los Angeles' the road alt.

And with a few from the 2021 season now retired, it's nice to see some of the unneeded alternates taken out of circulation.

Now it'd be nice if the Dodgers retired their "Dodgers" gray alternate as I feel it is not even needed for them

Good lord. The Padres appear to have used 1980s tourist t-shirts as their City Connect inspiration. Approximately one hour after these uniforms are revealed I expect to hear cries of "they should adopt these full time."

Big mistake if they would do that

If the Padres hadn't unveiled their beautiful new uniforms a few seasons ago, I would agree with that sentiment. 🤣

I really wonder what my Heat will do for the City edition.

In all honesty, I wish they just went Vice full time and retired our current sets. Nothing wrong with them, but we’ve had the same look for over 20 years over multiple different eras and ever since the Vice was introduced I can’t get over it.

Apparently a white version of the city from this year

Yes, it has been a rumour for a while. When they initially unveiled the alternate Bill Foley mentioned that it could become the home look down the road. He said that grey doesn't stand out in a crowd. Also, when the Knights announced their jersey sponsor for next season they used the gold jersey to show how the patch will look.

The rumour going around I have heard is that it IS a black base jersey with VEGAS across it.  Other than that, I have no idea what else to expect

Here’s the link to this weekend’s kit matchups (the league never posted last week’s):

    https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/kit-matchups-what-your-club-is-wearing-for-mls-week-8

    Of note:

    - Cincy is wearing navy/navy/orange at Toronto. The orange socks are from their secondary kits and are being used to contrast Toronto’s dark gray socks.

    - Columbus wearing all-white at home against DCU.

    - Hoops vs. hoops (sort of) between SKC and Dallas.

    - Colorado going burgundy/blue/blue against Portland in pink/crimson/pink.

    - NYCFC/San Jose going city blue vs. royal blue.

Yeah I thought that was weird they didn't post last week.  I'm trying to compile everything worn this year to see what mix and match things they do between the kits this season

Kinda slipped under the radar but it’s being reported by the Tampa Bay Times and other sources that the Rays Sunday light blue alt will be changed to have the burst on the left chest instead of Rays word mark like in previous seasons.

Im honestly surprised something like this hadn’t happened sooner.

In the end, I guess it makes sense.  Although, I'd like to see the ray on the sleeve be more predominantly featured again

Can anyone with more knowledge than me at the moment let me know if the Braves discontinued using the cream jersey, A’s dark green, Nats white with W, white with flag W, and Rays Columbia blue (normal alt not spring) jerseys or did MLB the show 22 just mess up?

Probably just a mess up on their part, as they tend to not include tons of alternates

  14. So we only have Washington and Philadelphia CONFIRMED for alternate helmets this year right?  Arizona is semi-rumoured (?) but who else do we know for sure?

I know Seattle, Philadelphia (throwbacks), and Tampa will all bring back era appropriate throwbacks come in 2023.

Eh I tend to not believe anything from DHGate, since they tend to sell tons of fan made concept jerseys AND have tons of counterfeits there as well.
