The closer we get, the more it feels like the color-change rumors are a decoy. It would just be so odd to only minimally change the bird logo and helmet, and then have a completely different color scheme for the rest of the set.

Man, ESPN's hockey coverage is just awful - I'm desperate for a 'commentary free' broadcast option. Just gimme the sounds of the arena and ice!

Anyway, happy cup playoffs to us all. 

From instantly-recognizable, Maryland flag-bearers to generic mix-and-match jersey and pants. Maybe I'd feel different if the helmet and pants had any yellow representation.

Why go towards anonymity? I just don't get it.

That's... huh?

ASU and Arizona are very similar in terms of endowment, stadiums, even athletic performance. Academics is where they differ the most; ASU not being an AAU member. However, ASU out earns UA (all three of them actually) from athletic revenue so this is just odd.

Agreed. But what a 'major change' is to the board may not be a major change to the casual fan. If the beak changes from yellow to copper, is that truly a major change? Not saying that's happening but something to consider.

A good point that was made in the video that I left out is the sheer volume of bird logos at the stadium that would require updating if there were a major change. Not that's a good enough reason to not update but if they leave the logo relatively untouched they forego the need to make all those additional 'minor' updates.

Definitely in line with @TruColor's information. But unfortunately didn't learn a ton.

Seems to me to confirm the 3d bird on the white helmet and Tru did not say that was incorrect

One of my favorites: Madison, Wisconsin. 

Blue represents Lakes Mendota and Monona, the white stripe represents the isthmus between these two lakes, the black cross represents the four lakes of the area (Mendota, Monona, Wingra, and Waubesa) as well as the outline of the Capitol building, and then a Native sun a la New Mexico. 

Not bad considering Wisconsin and some its flags *cough* Milwaukee *cough*
