Cal McNair is a parody account.. not actually Cal. He make “himself” look purposefully awful on that account and the real Cal McNair can’t seem to do anything about it. It can be funny at times.

The blue Sunday alts have grown on me, especially after clinching the WS in them last weekend, but something inspired by the “white ASTROS on dark blue jerseys”, like the 1980’s spring training jerseys, has long been my preference.

I really liked Oregon’s Polynesian inspired uniforms. I guess you could nitpick some details, like the slightly jarring nameplate, but overall pretty awesome set head to toe.

Yeah, very well known figure in Houston for over 20 years. Long time backup QB for the Oilers, who became the Sports Director at the Houston CBS affiliate after his career.

Carlos Correa rookie (pre-rookie?) card. He was drafted June 2013, a few months before the Astros switched to their current set. The small window was apparently large enough for a few photo ops in the pinstripe set.

This is a freeze frame from a 5-part series I did a few years ago on original Astro (Colt 45 original, too) Bob Aspromonte. The series mainly focused on Aspro talking about baseball in the 60's, the Astrodome, etc.. and showing us tons of old pics he had collected over the years. This pic is him standing with Joe Dimaggio in an A's uniform. He explains that Joe temporarily coached the A's for 4 weeks during spring training one year. -

I'm ready for the new (hopefully) blue/orange set to arrive next season, but agree with you on this being a good look. I'll one-up you and say that I think this (below) is their best set and it's been nice seeing so much of this year with the new owner wanting to ditch the brick-top/silver pants look full-time on the road. What really makes this set work is the switch to the brick hats, vs the black hats which have been the primary road cap. The black hat really dulled down this set, IMO.

Yeah, that is definitely not a popular opinion. Good one.. I do like the pants, though, and not looking exactly like the Steelers is a plus. That jersey on the other hand.............
