  1. What I wouldn't give to get either of those Bengals looks back...
  2. I've always thought that helmet and facemask looked kinda dopey.
  3. Off topic, but I love what you've done with your avatar. Pretty much sums up where my Bengals fandom stands right about now.
  4. I also like that the lightning bolt is primarily white instead of yellow.
  5. second1- I love the new identity 2- The beloved irish rainbow uniforms would be as out of place as these guys in 2015 What ever happened to our love? I wish I understood. It used to be so nice, it used to be so good.
  6. The "stars" on the Steelers ring are astroids, which mimic their logo. Hypocycloids A hypocycloid with four cusps is called an astroid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astroid The "stars" on the Steelers ring are astroids, which mimic their logo. 8. 1980 was also notable for the Bengals because that was the only year that helmet used a black facemask. and in 1998 for some reason the team wore pants with striping that resembled what the team wore 1981-1996. In 1997 when they first tweaked the uniforms the pants stripes looked like the ones that would be worn with that set until 2003. 1980 also had a wider pants stripe. Also, in 1998, I believe that there were some players wearing the new pants, and some wearing the old. I haven't found any photos, I just remember wondering what the heck was going on when it happened, and my friends wondering what the heck was wrong with me because I cared...
  9. It would be an issue since the stripes are painted on. I think we've had a debate on that before... http://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/77102-helmet-decals/page-1 You can find images that clearly show the stripes (at least in some cases) are decals. I wonder if that would be a case where a player brings a helmet that they used while playing with another team? Like they re-painted and applied decals? Seems a little far fetched, but it just seems weird that some are painted, and some aren't.

  11. You should start a blog called 'Sports hate me', cause I'm right there with ya. Ugh. Are you being facetious? Because I had a blog that was called that. The gimmick of always writing about how terrible my teams are got tired. That, and I got a real job so writing essays for no money became less fun with less free time. I wrote it for about a year in 2010 and 2011 and the worst part is things haven't gotten any better. Yeah, I was referring to it. I remember reading it a while back after you posted a link to it. For some reason, after you wrote the 'I hate sports', it reminded me of it. Bengals are getting on my nerves...

  13. It's crazy that a team from the NFC South is going to HOST a playoff game.
  14. Or, as John Gruden would say, "Anything can happen on any given Sunday, especially on Thursday night."
  15. I love the Laker drop shadow Did the arena lose electricity that night?
  16. They looked like ketchup packets in the red helmet/red jersey/red pants look. Unpopular opinion indeed! Most ketchup packets I've seen are white. I believe you would be thinking of ketchup bottles...But yes on topic I like the Chiefs in all red Nope. Most ketchup bottles I see are red. Most ketchup packets I see are white.

  18. The 1988 set had pant stripes, no bolts.
