  1. I know I'm waaaaaaay late on this, but I decided to use this for a now defunct minor league team of ours... the Fort Worth Cats. *NOTE: except for the "FTW" on the cap, the logos are all just placeholders. I made the primary on SketchUp but the panther head on the sleeve is just a generic logo I got of Prinest. The Cap logo is losely based on the former logo, pictured here.
  2. The one and only problem I have with this is the Stockyards Coliseum motif, and it's the only problem I've had with this identity since it was revealed... well, other than not going with "Fort Worth". People will see it and think San Antonio, not Fort Worth.
  3. The NCAA is as good as dead... at least on the football side of things, anyway. There still needs to be some kind of collective bargaining agreement since we're pretty much acknowledging that this isn't "armature sports" as it should have been a long time ago.
  4. But that's mostly already happening... only three schools since this playoffs started (Bama, Clemson, Ohio State) have been pretty much guarantees to make it in. That's really not my point, though. FBS and an FCS are both Division 1 with their own individual playoffs. I don't see what it would hurt if there's a sub-division in between, like with my C-USA examples, that has its own separate national championship.
  5. My only response to that is: We have FBS and FCS in football, but not in basketball or other sports... so what difference would it make if we added a sub-division to the sub-division?
  6. Don't assume. I only did this because, if we're being honest, even in my fantasy mock up of these conferences and playoffs, they'll still find a way to keep these smaller schools out of the playoffs. Even now, I believe there should just be separate playoffs for the Power Five Four and Group of "Five". I'm just going with what's being presented right now. Personally, I'd prefer an 8 team playoff, 16 max... but just the talks of that are currently on hold because of UT and OU.
  7. My fantasy set-up for College Conferences ------------------------------------------------------------- Five 16 team "Super Conferences" ======================== - "ACC" (ACC + Notre Dame & WVU) - "American XVI" (Best 15 of the Go5 teams + one Big XII member) - "B1G" (Big Sixteen; Big Ten + Two Big XII members) - "Pac-16" (Pac-12 + 4 Big XII members) - "SEC" (SEC + Texas and OU) These 5 conferences play for the 12-team College Football Playoff with bowls. ______________________________________________________________________ Conference USA =========================================== - Atlantic (12 teams) 8 C-USA members + 3 independents + 1 FCS call-up - Central (14 teams) 10 MAC members + 2 C-USA members + 2 FCS call-ups - Mountain (16 teams) 9 Mt. West members + 4 FCS Call-ups + 2 C-USA members +1 Independent - South (16 teams) 8 Sun Belt members + 7 C-USA members + 1 FCS call-up This would basically be four different conferences falling under one brand and having its own separate 4-team playoff.
  8. I live down the street, I am a TCU supporter... can't tell you how many times I've been saying this to people. TCU and Fort Worth fits in with "Pac 12 culture" A LOT MORE than people think it would . . .
  9. My thoughts on a 32 team NBA - 4 Divisions instead of 2 conferences - All expansion and relocations based on current rumors... except Seattle, because I'm pretty sure we can all agree that's set in stone. - Revamped Playoff Format explained below:
  10. While I won't say these other Bowl games are "pointless", I WILL say that it's funny seeing how they'll add more Bowls but having an 8 team playoff in a league of over 130 teams for the actual National Championship is too much and "diminishes the regular season"...
  11. No... it needs to be FORT WORTH and specific to Fort Worth, period. Like I said, it's rare for our city's name to be seen and heard on the national stage without Dallas, first. "Panther City" is specific to Fort Worth, but it's also vague and unknown to people who dont live here.
  12. Probably... (what the hell is "Floorball"?) As far as the PCLC name, I'm still conflicted... On one hand, it's one of a very, VERY RARE opportunity for Fort Worth to stamp its name on a national product. On the other hand, not only could it be a conversation starter, but it's also elevating the Panther City moniker more so and moving further away from the "Cowtown" imagery, which for a city our size and constantly growing needs to happen.
  13. So "Fort Worth Panthers" is apparently trademarked already. I know the Fort Worth Cats (minor league baseball) USED to be known as the Fort Worth Panthers back in the 1800s, but that can't be it...
  14. ...oh, I didn't know someone already posted this.
  15. The newest expansion team for the National Lacrosse League and for the city of Fort Worth: ...looks like we went the "Washington Football Team" route with ours. I'm conflicted with both the name and logos. The name: One one hand, I'm glad we're stepping away from the stereotypical cowboys and cattle route for this and using the "Panther City" moniker that's not used nearly enough, imo... but on the other hand, they're not using the actual city's name, which is a major issue for Fort Worth and has been for years. The logo: Looks great. Has the TCU colors (with a little red splashed in, giving an underrated color combo more use) and the panther itself looks sharp with the lone star on top... but the outline of it will make people think San Antonio and the Alamo, not Fort Worth and The Stockyards
  16. Can you do an old Arena League team. The Fort Worth Cavalry... their colors were like Navy and Gold, but the logo doesn't show it, for some reason.
