Protection from being relevant in MLB in a non-pandemic season which has been working the last 20 years
It’ll be fine, Derek Jeter will get it turned around this…oh, wait, never mind…

The Texans are not (and probably never will) switch to columbia and red. A. It's the Titans's (former Houston team) colors and B. They're named the "Texans" with the state flag in their logo. A flag which is colored navy, red and white. It ain't ever happening.
I hope to live long enough to see them rebranded as the Houston Oilers.

Let the speculation run rampid! I know this much: that darker gray got to GO.
My obvious concern here is the love for “all blue” as suggested in the video game. The Lions in all grey, all blue, and all white is straight-up dumpster fire. The sooner this unicolor trend dies in the NFL, the better.

The Lakers' purple jerseys have dumb black side panels these days.
They’re hideous. The old Kareem/Magic era shade of gold was better too.

Seeing the Lakers in gold jerseys at the Celtics’ home venue makes me want to throw up. Ditto for Boston in black. Please, white jerseys vs. “Forum Blue” every time.

It’s over. Get over it. I miss the Oilers too, but there is no way to bring them back with Tennessee Titans CEO not budging. It does belong to the franchise.
Just be happy football is back in Houston.
Wake me up when it’s PROFESSIONAL football and not the Texans.

I agree that Houston should adopt the red helmets.I think they should go with silver. And put the oil derrick back on there while they’re at it.

Dolphins full-time throwbacks? I’d even settle for the current set with darker teal and more-orange orange. Oh, and block numbers.

Looking at you, Green Bay and Pittsburgh
The Franco Harris event throwbacks were amazing!

The Seahawks have used mono Wolf-Gray since the team's redesign a decade ago, and it looks miles better than the Lions' anthracite dumpster fire. It does wonders that it's light enough to look like white from a distance. I'd be willing to see the Seahawks ditch the white jerseys in favor of gray full time, I think this is an example of a non-white color done well. The Rams could learn a thing or too from this set. I'd vastly prefer to see the neon barf color rush get canned, but if this season is indeed the final year of Wolf Gray's tenure, it should at least go out with the respect it deserves.
The wolf grey jersey looks great with the navy pants. I could almost live with the neon green jerseys if they broke it up by using white pants instead of head to toe highlighter but we know that ship idea has sailed already.

The Saints' brutal gold/mustard mismatch is 1000000x more glaring and distracting than Detroit's boring full-gray.
But if they simply fix the helmet color, it’s a top 3 in the league uniform. Detroit’s grey is a 100% mess.

The Lions all-grey set is the worst in the NFL. Prove me wrong.

No. The Cowboys and their trash uniforms can change. The Lions look farrrrr better in blue and silver than Dallas ever has.
If only it was the 1980’s/early 1990’s uniform and helmet as opposed to today’s version. The updated Lion logo can stay though.

So we have a game between a red team and a green team. A matchup where no team typically wears black helmets, jerseys, pants, or socks. And what happens?
Black hemets, jerseys, pants, and socks. We end up with what, to me, is on top 10 list of all-time awful uni matchups. The cardinals are dumb for doing a blackout (and they're about 20 years late to that trend) but they're at least the home team. There is no reason Philly should be allowed to wear black in this game (or ever, but that's beside the point).
I would think that if players actually saw themselves in tightie tight black pants and black socks (I’m talking about YOU, #90) that they would forever eschew the same color pants/socks look forever.
Speaking of which, can’t wait to see the Bears in head-to-toe orange. Gross.

Rams in blue pants…and blue socks.
Sigh.

Dolphins with aqua pants and aqua socks
Eagles with white pants and white socks
Jaguars with teal pants and teal socks
Vikings with purple pants and purple socks
Saints with white pants and white socks
Seahawks in navy pants and navy socks
Am I alone in hating this trend?

Well you're living up to your username. I think it's team dependent and two pants is fine or even necessary for a lot of them. I'm also willing to make an exception for alternate helmets if it's part of an overall alt design rather than just another mix-n-match option.
I’m to the point where I’d like to see teams say “eff it” and start up Psych-Out Saturdays, where Notre Dame takes the field in Miami Hurricanes colors, Michigan wears scarlet and grey, Oklahoma throws on some burnt orange and white, and LSU wears Alabama colors.
Wait, mods, delete this post. I don’t want to give Nike, Adidas, etc. any crazy ideas.
