Extreme Mountain West disrespect in this bracket. Every team except San Diego State dropped at least one seed from where the BracketMatrix average had them, with everyone except Colorado State dropping at least two. Nevada in particular was predicted as a 7 and ended up as a 10. That's brutal.

The other teams that the bracketologists were significantly off on were Gonzaga and FAU (both +2) and Virginia (only 20 of the 200 had them in the field). Most had Oklahoma or St. John's in Virginia's place.

  2. 1. My choice for the team's new name would be the Columbus Choppers.  The Braves are moving away from having their affiliates share their nickname, but I still wanted the new name to be a nod to the team and its culture.  In this case, they would be named after a certain motion synonymous with the Braves and their fandom, as well as a salute to nearby Fort Moore and the Army's helicopters that have flown to and from there.

    2. Add Waco to the list of cities that could be jockeying for a Texas League team; a feasibility study is currently underway for a potential downtown ballpark, with the issue gaining more and more local support as of late.

Oregon State is gonna spend their sojourn in this league pretending Portland doesn't exist, given the relative performance of the two athletic departments.

The Pilots have been on the cusp of contendership for a good while, and I think having a true rival in the Beavers is gonna do wonders to their mindset and momentum...it'll also help the Beavs be perennial March contenders.

Imagine England saying EPL teams are no longer part of the FA Cup and they need to play their Youth/Reserve squads

I'd imagine Championship, League One and League Two teams would be happy that they've finally got a chance...as are the USL teams under these same league names over here.

Not a fan of MLS dropping out of the Open Cup, but unless it made them as much money as Leagues Cup they weren't going to keep juggling both competitions.

I'm frickin' ECSTATIC at the news...FINALLY the USL is gonna have a chance to win it again!

It's common with the IFL as they have the Frisco (Dallas) Fighters, Bay Area (San Jose) and Duke City (Albuquerque) Gladiators.

The Bay Area covers a wider area than San Jose, "Duke City" is a nickname for Albuquerque, and Gladiators play in Rio Rancho now.

So this would be like if the IFL teams rebranded to the Rio Rancho Gladiators, Henderson Knight Hawks or Ashwaubenon Blizzard (or if the NFL had the East Rutherford Giants, Inglewood Rams, Santa Clara 49ers, Landover Commanders or Orchard Park Bills, but that's another discussion).

  7. The reason I'm thinking it was an upset is that, from my history, the Heisman winner has always led his team to a New Year's Six game.

LSU's stuck in the ReliaQuest bowl (I miss when it was the Outback or even the Hall of Fame Bowl), playin' my Badgers who are rarin' for the big upset...to me, the Heisman is for the "Most VALUABLE Player," not necessarily the "BEST player."

I didn't follow the league as much back then so I don't know about that. However, I don't think there's any interest in Edmonton because the Oilers essentially ran the Rush out of town. So it would be ill-fated, I would think, to have an Edmonton team that wasn't owned by the Oilers and they haven't appeared to want a lacrosse team.

What a shame...Rogers Place would be a WONDERFUL lacrosse arena.

Not for nothing (but it probably is), the Roughnecks have started using red as an accent colour on their website and social media graphics this season. Since the, sponsorship related, rebrand in 2021 they had been using the teal from the turf.

I'm not expecting the red to come back officially any time soon but it's an improvement over using the teal, even just on principle.

Agreed...save the cerulean tones for whenever Edmonton gets a team again.

(Weren't they supposed to get one the year after the Rush moved to Saskatchewan?)
