  1. The Salt Lake Golden Eagles was the BEST identity Utah hockey ever had...unfortunately, Vegas would probably veto any team using that color adjective.
  2. What's wrong with the once and future Delta Center?
  3. My choices would either be somewhere around Gurnee (close enough to the Mills and Great America) or somewhere within an hour's walking distance of Halas Hall.
  4. If I worked in the Bears' front office, my choice would be to put the big project somewhere in Lake County (the one right below the Illinois-Wisconsin border). What's not to love about Lake County? A lot of people's favorite Chicagoland attractions are there; they got Six Flags Great America, they got Gurnee Mills, they got Ravinia and so on...but most importantly, Lake County 1. Has the most wide-open land which is suitable for development. 2. Is already home to Halas Hall in Lake Forest (they won't need to move headquarters if the stadium is built close enough there).
  5. Yes they are...surpassing the five syllables of "Rainbow Warriors."
  6. Say hello to the George Washington Revolutionaries.
  7. In the A's dictionary, it means it's set in stone, unlike the "binding agreements" which seem to change every week.
  8. Case in point: Austin Bold FC thought they could co-exist with MLS' Austin FC; however, that arrangement only lasted one season, with Bold FC on hiatus ever since, hoping to get a new stadium built in Fort Worth. So I could see SD Loyal make a move to build a new stadium somewhere in North County (Oceanside, Escondido, Carlsbad, etc.)
  9. Florida can barely support two teams right now...no way they'll be able to support three. No, they should focus on trying to court the Rays to Orlando...as I said, their ballpark would be a beauty, and it's already looking more feasible than anything that's been proposed in Tampa Bay for the team.
  10. Gotta say, that is one beauty of a ballpark they're proposing. Not a fan of the proposed team name, though...they should keep the franchise name and be the Orlando Rays.
  11. At least the plan there would've seen the A's play at Oracle Park for a couple years while the new park was being built...where would the Rays' temporary home be if this happens?
  12. We'll never forget you, Aiden.
  13. I think Montana being one of these states is the key reason why the Griz never moved up to FBS in their program's juggernaut days (because no conference was willing to also take Montana State).
  14. The Man himself has confirmed that they've unblocked him:
  15. Apparently, to avoid the bad press, they've changed their logo. Pretty plain, but that's better than the plagarism from before.
  16. St. Cloud State dropped football in 2019...I wonder what it would take for them to revive it? Perhaps Minnesota State would work as the other school to move up?
  17. UT-Arlington Mavericks football may be coming back by decade's end, as the school's student government has approved a referendum for an athletics fee increase which would partially fund a program, and is the first of several steps towards ensuring Mavericks football's return. If UTA does bring football back, they'll most likely join their fellow WAC schools in the new conference being formed together with the ASUN.
  18. I thought the AHL had banned independent teams somewhere around the time of the IHL merger...
  19. Is that even allowed by the AHL? Because IIRC, the lack of an NHL affiliate is why the Cincinnati RailRaiders never got off the ground.
  20. Not D1, but worth a mention. Canada's only NCAA team, the Simon Fraser Red Leafs (Division II, Lone Star) is dropping football. The main reason is the LSC was already dropping them as a member after next season...will the other Cascadia teams (Central Washington & Western Oregon) be able to keep their football programs?
  21. So Miami has knocked off Texas to lock in the last Final Four spot...and UConn is the only one to have ever been to a Final Four before, let alone win a national title. If Miami knocks off UConn and Florida Atlantic takes down San Diego State, we're gonna have the Battle of South Florida in the title game (Which would be the craziest possible outcome).
  22. Remember: Purdue, Marquette, Kansas State, Tennessee, Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, Memphis, USC and Providence were ALL in the East Region bracket...but the team who won it is the Florida Atlantic Owls. This is why it's called March Madness.
  23. As I've said before, if UTA ever wants to revive their football program to play in FCS, then Choctaw would look like a good option for at least the first several seasons until they ever decide to build an on-campus stadium.
