Clarification post: This thread is only about realignment in the FBS, right? No talking about the FCS?
-
Boise State and Air Force, in the Big East? College football is going to you know where in a hand basket.
-
And I though the 16-team Big East Conference for other sports was excessive.
-
Somewhat off-topic: If a school wants to become a Division 1 FBS team, what should be the minimun stadium capacity?
-
And Nebraska and Kansas. (These school don't like slang for some reason...)
-
Just like it's not the University of Ohio or University of Indiana.
-
Army? With Cuse leaving, this shouldn't matter. St. John's anyone? Where would they play football, if they decided to reinstate the sport?
-
How much seats should a Division 1 FBS stadium hold?
-
Can the Spiders actually upgrade Robins Stadium to FCS standards, or is there a bigger facility off campus?
-
UNC-Charlotte/Charlotte 49ers have a 15,000 seat stadium being bulit that they claim can be expanded to 40,000. I know it's too early to speculate, but maybe in a few years, the 49ers could be in the mix.
-
I know it's too soon, but someday, I hope UMass goes from the MAC to the Big East, if the latter conference survives...
-
Just saw this on ESPN. Not happy. Missouri is NOT Southern. I consider Missouri "Southern" if you extend the Mason-Dixon line, but different strokes for differnet folks.
-
Which rivalries will the Irish abandon if they move to the ACC?
-
Sorta off-topic question: Should the former 30,000-seat stadium rule be reinstated?
-
There's a few schools I'm really wondering about: 1. Villanova & Georgetown: These two Big East basketball schools are in FCS in football. Will they jump to FBS, or will they move conferences? 2. All the non-football schools in the Big East: will they join other leagues, create their own non-football league, or do the unthinkable and maybe create a football team? 3. The WAC newcomers Seattle, Denver and UT-Arlington: even though the WAC isn't the BCS conference, their football membership is a little short. Will one, two or possibly all create football teams to shore up this league? 4. UALR: With Denver moving to the WAC, Arkansas-Little Rock is the odd team out in the Sun Belt Conference. Could they join the Sunbelt Conference? Your thoughs? Edit: though of one more...

The only reason that could possilby make sense is if UT-Arltington starts a football program, the Mavericks could called Cowboys Stadium a possible temporary home
-
Off-topic: how far is Cowboys Stadium from the UT-Arlington campus?
-
I still have no idea why they don't just add Portland State. It's the largest university in Oregon, and it would give them enough football teams to have a legitimate conference. I think Jeld-Win Field is not an FBS football stadium. But the old 30,000-seat stadium rule has been abolished, so who knows what qualfiies.
-
BTW, is Denver going to be a non-football member when it joins the WAC?
-
If Portland State wants to go DI FBS/I-A, they need a bigger stadium. Jeld-Wen seems small.

If there is a Major/Minor Leage Baseball expansion, I wish the D-Backs' AA affillate return to the Texas League. No offense to Mobile and the Baybears.
-
Could someome realign the current MiLB teams and ther MLB affilates?
-
The admiral issued a challenge to expand Major & Minor League Baseball. Here's mine so far: MLB Expansion Teams: Charlotte (AL) & Portland (AL) AAA International League Expansion Teams: Ottawa, ON & Springfield, MA (best I can think of) Movment: current Charlotte team to Orlando AA Texas League Expansion Teams: El Paso, TX & Wichita, KS A-Advance Carolina League Expansion Teams: Fayatteville, NC & Columbia, SC A South Alantic League (even though they shouldn't) Expansion Teams: Dover, DE & Wimington, NC Short Season A Nothwest League Expansion Teams: Bend, OR & Walla Walla, WA Rookie Pioneer League Expansion Teams: Butte, MT & Logan, UT That's my idea.

Am I the only one who wants to see a new conferece named "Great East Conference" come into existance to help with this collegiate realignment? Too bad we can't create schools to help...
-
I'm still think the Big East is the best choice for UMass.
