Best looking one……Ravens and Lions the Super Bowl America wanted but the league script writers said No!
To what might have been. Well, there is always next year. And by adding better personnel by Free agency or the Draft Maybe?

There is an interesting read on ESPN about the field, And if the NFL will get it right, as the Field tray is based off of State Farm Stadiums tray in Arizona (Also the site of the SB field debacle last year).

Here is hoping the NFL ground's crew learned from last year's debacle. And get the sod put in correctly! As Allegient Stadium uses a similar field tray, as the one at State Farm Stadium!

I'd say, very good chance nothing changes this year.
I think the next opportunity for change may take place with changes in the logo, perhaps for Super Bowl LX? Seems like the NFL is set on this new field template though, but at least it's not all black endzones, like the College Championship.
I Agree. It would have looked better, if they painted the endzones just like teams actual endzones. With just the CFP logos in the center of the field.

Blamed the guy he was working under for the field. Basically said the guy didnt have a clue what he was doing and ruined the field. Too much water, not enough sand, not enough sun. He went all in. Went out guns blazing.
That would explain the issues with the weak sod. And painting the entire field the night before, showed a lot of the defects in the sod.

Man, I would love to see the Lions make the Super Bowl! The only "Original Team" not to play in the Super Bowl (Now some may argue the Cleveland Browns, but this was an expansion team to replace the team that became the Baltmore Ravens. Who ironicly have won a Super Bowl.) And there is a uniform change in the works for Detroit, and possibly a wordmark update as well.

I wonder when people will start drawing up fields for Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas?
Gve it some time! Most of the Artists are quite busy with The Gridiron Sumulation League. Which is in Week 2 of the 16 game season!

$800,000 and 2 years go growing for that? Disappointing to say the least. Not only the obvious slipping and sliding for 4 quarters but the white paint speckles littered all over the field after the start on the game. The contrasting shades of green stripping every 5 yards also disappeared quickly. I think it's time to make some changes from personal (sorry, TOMA) to strategy, a billion dollar organization must do better than what happened tonight! Embarrassing NFL
I was working the game (Though not inside State Fram Stadium, I was running the "Ingress" ticket scanning lines for the east gates). The actual turf performed well and held up as a surface.. The main problem was moisture. The field was completly repainted the night before, and being a "Domed Stadium" even with the roof open. misture built up with in the stadium . There was no way to get the field enough "outside " air flow to get the paint completley moisture free. And any surface natural grass or artificai turf. Moisture is a problem .
Also painting the field twice is also a problem. I think normal paintng as done with Regular season games shou;d be done, 48 hours before the game, Let the grass completly take root before painting it they had 2 1/2 weeks, and really great weather here. The standard Cardnials game field looked far better and so did the Fiesta Bowl.

Not as far as I can tell. I assume it has, but nothing on the Official State Farm Stadium twitter, or any of the local Phoenix area news feeds yet, either.

This will just be speculation on what the field could look like, based on the past several seasons. I'll still hold out some hope that we could see something different and interesting, but I can't say I have much hope for that. Maybe they paint the teamboxes similar to Super Bowl XLIX.
Sorry for not being araound. Been reall busy at the Home Depot Online Contact Center, I will be volunteering for SB LVII and possibly the stadium. I am suscribed to the State Farm Stadium accout, so I hope to have confirmation as the actulal field was installed early last week so it will have 3 weeks to firm up and be ready for the game

At least they didn't skimp on the paint Chiefs endzone could have used a bit more yellow
As per custom. The field will be painted one more time before Supekr Bowl Sunday. That will make the field look Bright.

Thanks. Got to say you kind of inspired it when you started adding the walls and stuff to your Super Bowl fields. I have done about 22 NFL stadiums. Working on the Rose Bowl. Have a Coors Field and Pepsi Center (or Ball Arena now) that is interchangeable for the Nuggets and the Avalanche. (Yeah, I live in Denver) It's a long process, about 20-40 hours to do one depending on how symmetrical the stadium is and if I can get a good seating chart and photos.
Welcome to the fun! And yes this has been fun. (though a lot of work).

Something to keep an eye on, that I’ve noticed throughout the playoffs, but the team boxes seemed to have been extended 10 yards in either side. So now instead of a normal teambox extending from the 33 yard lines, they now seem to go from either 23 yard line. It’ll be interesting to see if that will also be true for the Super Bowl, and how they will paint the teambox.
Yea, I noticed that too. not numch of a problem on most fields, except the fieldturf cut in ones. But If I remeber correclty those stadiumns added those in after the surfaces were done. I will have to look.

While on the subject of Cardinals, they had the NFL shield at mid-field, most likely because the 49ers are going to be bunkmates for a little while.
Yep, not sure if they are putting the team name in the end zones. But they had "Arizona" in both yesterday. nd no red striping on the 20's either.

I think they did that to cover up markings from game the previous day.
@SFCOM1 I don't remember that font all that much. Back then we had NFL Primetime and hoped you caught it in the highlights. Not like RedZone and YouTube we have today for research. Well done as always!
You are correct good Sir, A lot of the fully painted fields in the Cardinals time in Sun Devil Stadium, where to cover up either a Fiesta Bowl, or special ASU game field. And on the font it took me two weeks to work out the font for the end zone. And I have one more field to work on, The Special Christmas field that was Buddy Ryans last game as Cardinals coach.

Who knows. Though the Lions are changing Uniforms next year. Perhaps having the throwbacks being the Barry Sanders Era Unis, and a Black alternate.
