  1. Yeah, the old Pats workmark was a tremendus mess of lines colors and wield shading. All in all a "Classic" logo from the past!
  2. I just noticed on the SB XVIII field. There was a darker green "box" around the NFL shield on the 50 yard line.
  3. Well as far as the Redskins Super Bowl history. The NFL has always used the "Secondary" ggold/yellow color, as the "primary" maroon is also the color of thier helmet. Another example of that in the past was Philly back in SB XV. They used a silver "secondary" color instead of the "primary" green of thier uniforms and helmet. Now in the future it's hard to say. The Eagles had a green endzone back in SB XXXVIII. So only time will tell! ;-)
  4. As far as i can tell the numbers look good. I found a video on youtube that was taped from the NBC broadcast. Showing Riggins run in the 4th quarter. Got good views of the 50 the 40 and part of the 30 on that shot! http://wn.com/super_bowl_xvii
  5. I have really good pics of the playing surface that was the final one used (from 92 and before they moved to Ford Field). And that surface has no gaps in the numbers.
  6. Actually you are correct. I was looking at one of my "newer" pics of the silverdome, my notes where from the surface that was installed after the superbowl (in the late 80's) and BC "BS" (before Barry Sanders). Those are the accurate numbers!
  7. Judging by that image a few pages ago, the Bengals script wasn't that bunched together, but spread out. I think. the Letters are about .the right width, But a bit to tall. Narrow the height a smidge and you got it.
  8. The "1" and the "2" did not have any gaps. The "3" "4" and "5" did. On the "3" is was at the top and bottom. The "4" was at the top a seperation where the diagonal arm met the the top. And the "5" was at the bottom base and the left middle at the junction of the small arm and the begining of the upper part of the loop!
  9. Did you hand draw the "Wings" on the Eagles helmet. Or did you find a really good.gif or .png someware?
  10. Actually "Official" and "Pete Rozelle" I believe. There is a Youtube vid earlier I posted with the SB XV NFL films feature that really zoomed in on the football!
  11. I'm curious to why they didn't experiment with the Rams by having the ram horns on both helmets in the endzone because the NFC logo kind of blends into the blue helmet. Not sure, but they did experiment with SB XVI in Pontiac!
  12. Yep, he is doing a great job. And the Sportslogos community has really pitched in this endevor. I have enjoied seeing the fields as they are posted on the board. And he has a better graphics program than mine. This database will be a hot topic for a long time! Keep up the good work!
  13. Yea. Its like they do not even recognize that logo. And its more a "Placeholder" logo that was modifed at the merger of the NFL and the AFL.
  14. Here is a pic of the "football" logo from SB XV link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vM89-nLYq7U#t=44
  15. And Sadly this is what the Silverdome looks like today! The roof destroyed, and the turf soaked and roting.
  16. Here the only one I still have from the Detroit News Archives
  17. Thanks for the link. I was using red instead of Broncos Orange. I only saw a poor quality video. As for the Bengals word mark, in an email you sent me before with some of the fields you had the right font for the Bengals, so did you just use a default font, or make edits to the Bengals wordmark? I edited the font slighty. Mostly the white borders, as the font on the NFL page here is a touch too bold. I took the font from the page and took it to 75%, then increased the size of the border to fit the look from a couple of photo's I had from SB XIV (I lived in Detroit back then, did not get to the game but had a couple of shots from an old copy of the the Detroit News and Free Press). There has been more than one occasion where George Toma (The NFL Field Guru) had to "Adapt to Overcome" with the linitations of an NFL endzone! ;-)
  18. Here is a youtube link to SB XII the Shields where both blue with the Broncos" lettered in Orange and Dallas" in Cowboy silver! www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GH7yYo8920
  19. SB XII also had the shield at the 35's. And also the 1st SB with Directional arrows (albeit small and two arrows on the 50) on the field. And the Bengals wordmark is similar but a bit condensed and a larger white border aeound the letters.
  20. Super Bowl XXX was the only year they had both 4 bar helmets in the endzone. From XXXI to XXXVI they were at the 30's, for XXXVII they were at the 25's, and for XXXVIII and XXXIX there was only the single one in the left of the endzones.Yep, He beat me to the punch. But 100% correct!
  21. No problem. I know that feeling/ I work on a compluter for 10 hours a day (rotational 4 day work week). Not easy, but Iove my job! ;-)
  22. In Super Bowl XIX (Stanford Stadium Palo Alto, CA) the Dolphins Endzone was Orange with the script in Aqua and white. The helmets where white, and the ear holes where white as well.
  23. Nice. Looking good. Wish I had a full version of Photoshop. I have so many of the Current and some past fields on file. Some where easy Washington (RFK and FedEX), Detroit (Pontiac Silverdome). And some much harder, Miami (current Stadium) and LA Rams (Anaheim). And Paint just does not do it justice!
  24. You are correct.sir! SB 31 in New Orleans started the helmets on the "30's" that lasted till SB 38 when the Individual SB logos took their place and the NFL shield returned to the 50 yard line. The respective Helmet/team logos and conference logos remained in the end zone, as they have since!
