  1. Well according to the NFL Official rules: <<The Playing Field Rule 1 The playing field will be rimmed by a solid white border six feet wide along the end lines and sidelines. There will be an additional broken yellow line nine feet farther outside this border along each sideline in the non-bench areas, and such broken line will be continued at an angle from each 30- yard line and pass behind the bench area (all benches a minimum of 30 feet back from the sidelines) at a distance of six feet. In each end zone, this broken yellow line is six feet from the solid white border. These yellow broken lines are to be eight inches wide and two feet long with a space of one foot between them. In addition, within each bench area, a solid yellow line six feet behind the solid border will delineate a special area for coaches, behind which all players, except one player who is charting the game, must remain. Furthermore, a broken white line four inches wide and four feet long with a space of two-foot intervals will be marked three feet inside the nine-foot restriction line on the sideline, extending to meet the existing yellow broken line six feet behind both end zones and at each television box outside the bench area.>> In simpler terms. These are restriction lines for the players and coaches, (Team and Coaches boxes between the 30 yard lines on each side of the field) sideline personel, and credentialed media. (The white and yellow dashed lines streching out the reminder of each sideline respectiely). Trust the guy who wears the stripes ( and has access to the actual rule book on NFL.com!) LOL
  2. Looks like they are using a dark stripe between the yard marks and the sidelines.
  3. Oh man, that is a nightmare. I was working on my USC profile, and slightly darker PAC-12 logos (as in the logo more transparent, less color. More green) , but spot on everything else!
  4. I saw that "Train Wreck". I have the USC profile, if you need it pitt6pac. ;-D
  5. I really like the Lions new endzone. Very unique compared to what they have been sporting the past few years. And SF needs to keep this endzone. Only thing better is the endzone in red.
  6. Yea, the word mark and "Bubbles" looked a lot fainter than previous years. Almost as if they used a thinner style of field paint. It looked almost transparent in places.
  7. Outside of the previously docmented changes. Arizona: now using bolder number font. Striping is still on the 20 yard line. Minnesota: Numbers bordered in Purple, striping moved from 20 to 25 yard line. New Orleans: Field looks new, all standard lines (Yard lines, Enzone, field numbers, and the 2 yard border) extremely bright white. With Logos, hash marks and yard marks fainter. Detroit: Possibly using field "Patch" for Lions logo ("Bubbles") in the center of the field.
  8. Small Update to the skins Packers field. The helmets where a bit narrower towards the center of the endzones. And the Face mask bars where a singlebar style (Much like Theisman's own helmet) for both sides. Both Green Bay and washington where of the same design. Green Bay's was much like the "Skin's" but with their full logo and bordered in white. The middle of the field had a very small "G" in gold only.
  9. OK I was doing some research. So for only one team has the contrasting team colors on the 25's (Vikings). I have seen them on the 20's at Indy and KC. Nothing so far from other fields yet, as most either do not use them or only have minimal striping (like Arizona) for the pre-season.
  10. 2018 Arizona Cardinals I was talking with the Head groundskeeper at University of Phoenix Stadium only difference in the field layout will be going to a bold font on the field numbers and possibly moving the field color accent from the 20 to the 25 yard line.
  11. Yea, those are the locations for the Numbers on an NFL Field. The practice is common for NFL stadiums with little, too no turnover time from an NFL contest to a college bowl game (Ex The University of Phoenix Stadium. Cardnials game to Fiesta Bowl layout. This was an an exampke of the reverse!)
  12. Texas Stadium 1984, 25th Silver Anniversary Season
  13. Ok, since Carolina Just announced they want to put the Panther logo on the 50 instead of the NFL shield. I came up with what I think it would look like.
  14. If you think this thread is awesome, then check out The Gridiron Field Database. Lots of Field goodness there! ?
  15. Now that was the feild design I saw, and was having a hard time replicating. Great job getting that in!
  16. I do not have the dates for these fields yet. But here are two classic fields from the Atlanta Falcons days at Fulton Couty Stadium Falcons 1980's "Cardiac Kid's" era And the Deion Sanders 1990's "Primetime" era
  17. After looking at some video footage, yes it looks like the "classic" Large white border field was in existance from 1980-1995 with 3 to 4 diffrent variants. The very first version in 1980, I believe had the wording "Texas Stadium" in the endzone, and the "Cowboys" font was added in 1981. The "patch on the 40 YL" was installed in 1988. THe field changed slightly in 1994 with the NFL 75th Anniversary logos added in. Then in 1995 the single color "Texas Stadium" logo was painted on the 50 YL. In 1996 the first of the newer generation of artifical surfaces was installed with a tri-color "Texas Stadium" logo for a couple of years. Then in 2002 the last field was installed with no added logos, till the stadium closed in 2008.
  18. I am working on this now. Hard to pull dates off of Getty Pictures. LOL. The Lions field is from October 4th, 1994
  19. And here are updated files for Texas Stadium The Classic "White border" fields of the late 80's to early 90's and the first field with the Texas Stadium Logo on it.
  20. Here is one of the old time Lions fields I have been working on. Based on a Game in October of 1994 vs Green Bay, This Lions field features a darker sliver in the end zones and helmet logo. As well as the NFL 75th Anniversary logos on the 30 yard lines, and the "Year of the Fan" logo in the opposite corner of the endzone.
  21. Detroit Lions 1983 50th Anniversary Season This field was one of the most unique in the history of the Pontiac Silverdome. There where few pictures of the field for that year, and it took me 5 weeks to hand draw out the 50th Anniversary logo.
  22. Yep goofed on that one. That is what I get for posting and being very tired. ;-)
  23. I like it. The Field template looks vaguely familiar ;-) (but easily accessable on the WWW) I like Texture sources, a bit different than the ones that Pitt6pack and I use.
