  1. A few weeks ago, news broke out that the St. Pete City Council was voting on a resolution to push the Rays to change their name to the “St. Pete Rays” (I’m guessing in light of the stadium deal). I didn’t look too much into the details of that resolution because I know nothing of substance would come of it. But I think it included a push for at least an alternate jersey that said “St. Petersburg” or “St. Pete” on it. Again, I don’t know the full details because I thought all parts of this were stupid. But all that’s to say that I would be shocked if the Rays’ City Connect jersey wasn’t almost exclusively St. Pete themed.
  2. I personally don’t buy this as credible, but if you follow the NFL Memes/Daily Snark social media pages, apparently someone’s claiming to have inside info as to what the Broncos are doing. new-uniform-helmet-designs-for-denver-broncos-appear-to-leak-online
  3. Oh, that’s cool that you stumbled upon them like that. I guess you can call their decision to just put them on the shelf without any fanfare an “unceremonious unveiling.”
  4. UF apparently unveiled their upcoming black football jerseys
  5. As much as I’ve tried to master the Bucs’ uniform/logo history, I was today years’ old when I learned that they actually put that version of the logo on their helmets. It caused me to do some research to verify that they actually used both versions of the logo in the same season(s) (among different marketing mediums), and I just came across this eBay listing for a ticket stub to a 1979 game, where it looks like there’s a THIRD version of the Bucco Bruce logo that’s like a midpoint of the two we already know about. https://www.ebay.com/itm/235088725858 (Sorry, can’t figure out how to embed an image of it from my phone)
  6. Sorry if someone already posted this. Looked back three pages and didn’t see anything about it.
  7. This blue-white-blue combo for UF would be much improved if the jersey had orange numbers, IMO.
  8. Note the switch from gray to white face mask. Wonder if that means a change in decals.
  9. Am I missing something or do Tampa Bay and Seattle have the exact same uniform template?
  10. I guess starting next week, we can add these: I'll add both Dolphins/Bucs pics, since it happened twice
  11. Sorry about the lack of pics, but I was at Dick's Sporting Goods today and I saw the following jersey "on sale" for $100: Navy blue Philip Rivers Nike jersey. Size XL. Three layers of twill numbers and embroidered logos and wordmarks. Not to mention loose threads every which way (even connected letters on the CHARGERS chest wordmark). No Nike price tag, instead just a makeshift Dick's Sporting Goods tag. So sewn logos and numbers, like an Authentic/Elite jersey, but size XL, like a Game or Limited jersey. Everything about this jersey screams counterfeit or is at least suspicious, but I can't wrap my head around an established, reputable chain retailer selling counterfeits. Is that really a common occurrence?
  12. Quick question: Is there a chance of someone making counterfeit blank premier NHL jerseys? I ordered a blank premier BOLTS jersey from eBay a while back, when it came in I compared it to my premier BOLTS Lecavalier jersey (which I know is legit). Everything seemed to be exactly the same (that is everything looked and felt the same), but the "Tampa Bay" script on the back tail end wasn't as crisp and well-defined as the script on the Lecavalier jersey. In the counterfeit BOLTS jerseys I've seen, the script is all condensed and mushed together, but that's not the case here. From a distance the two scripts look exactly the same, I only notice the difference up close. And again, aside from that, EVERYTHING looks and feels exactly the same between the two jerseys. And though it was cheaper than retail, it definitely wasn't the same price that 99% of counterfeits usually sell for. The logo on the back collar is the Reebok logo, not the Reebok name, so I just chalked the reduced price up to it being an older jersey. I also can't believe I'm asking this. As someone who wrote a 26-page law school paper ranting about counterfeit jerseys, you'd think I'd know better...
  13. I have a quick question for those who are on the Pro-Buying-Fakes side of this argument, especially with regards to NFL jerseys. What's the appeal of buying them over the $75 replicas? Is it 100% the fact that the fakes are cheaper, or is the authentic look just that much preferred over the replica look? This is for research purposes for my Sports Law paper. As mentioned before, I'm writing a law school paper on counterfeit jerseys, and I plan to have a so-called "Reasons people buy them" section. I'm not actually going to quote anyone, but I just want the general feeling.
  14. Quick question to everyone: I'm in law school right now, and this semester I'm taking a seminar on Sports Law. In this class our grade is determined on a paper we write on a topic of our choosing (related to legal issues in sports, of course). Since I'm trying to get an IP certificate, my paper topic has to be related to IP. Today I just got the ok from my professor to write about the problem of counterfeit goods. I told him I really want to write about the sale of counterfeit jerseys, and he said I can write about that as a central topic, but if I have trouble writing 25-30 pages about it, I can expand it to other goods. Assuming that I can manage to make the majority (if not, all) of my paper to be on counterfeit jerseys, would you any of you be interested in me posting it (If I'm able to)? I figured since this has become a hot-button issue on this board, it might make an interesting read for some of you.
  15. All the Tampa teams for pro (Orlando for NBA) and the University of Florida for college (because I go there).
