  1. No way, they’ve had those stripes forever! You can spot a Sags jersey from a mile away.
  2. I know that it isn’t the same logo, but the only thing that I can think of when seeing this are the Sarnia Sting.
  3. https://www.echl.com/news/2019/4/athletic-knit-named-exclusive-jersey-provider-of-the-echl ECHL jerseys will be produced by Athletic Knit beginning next season.
  4. Those carbon fiber collars are...interesting, and not in a good way. Random rant, but this thread is the only semi-appropriate place for it: Speaking of downgrades, I still can't get over the Cincinnati Cyclones change from a couple years ago. There are a lot of terrible jerseys in "the coast", but that one absolutely takes the cake. I used to go to a lot of their games when I moved to Cincinnati, and I never thought a rebrand could make me lose interest in a team as it's just laundry after-all, but they've managed to do it.
  5. "Let me get back to ya Charlie, I've got a guy on the other line askin' about some whitewalls"
  6. I know that a lot of it was out of necessity, but things like this always make me wonder who the first person to try something was, and what was going through their mind. Like who is the first person to eat the balls of a bull? Why? Same with onions. Who was the first genius to pull an onion out of the ground and say to themselves "this thing smells so good, I can't wait to bite into it!"?
  7. Unpopular opinion...I thought Starter NHL replicas were garbage when they came out in the 90's, and I still have no idea why people look back on them with fondness today. They were stretchy, and I'm convinced that present-day counterfeiters bought the excess stock of crests and patches to put on the jerseys they're selling now.
  8. I actually really like the Cowboys "green" pants
  9. I don't know...I hate the Blues with a burning passion, and I know that I'm in the minority with this, but the jerseys that they wore with Oates/Hull/Shanahan/Joseph in the early 90's were the best they've looked to my eyes.
  10. Agreed. A lot of people, especially casual fans, don't know the difference, and most don't care. Obviously, most of us on this board can spot fakes from a mile away, but this is a relatively small community. The funny thing is, everyone seems to love the replica Starter hockey jerseys from the 90's. I hated them then, and I still wouldn't own one today. But when I see and feel a counterfeit hockey jersey, the material always reminds me of those terrible Starter replicas.
  11. I don't really see how this is an unpopular opinion. Any time the Flames are discussed, people come out of the woodwork in droves talking about how awesome these were. I happen to disagree...I hate these jerseys, but it seems like I'm in the minority with that.
  12. Strictly speaking, that's not an unused logo - at least one of their corporate partners (a bank, IIRC) used it in their promotions. But it's certainly not one I wanted to see in real life. I lived in Indianapolis in the mid-late 00's, and a bank definitely used that logo. My buddy is a huge Colts fan, and his debit card/checks had that logo. It was also used on TV, as well as in signage around town. Also, as an aside, I knew a girl who worked in the Colts team store at the Circle Center Mall around that same time, and she told me that the Colts were seriously considering adding silver to their on-field uniforms. Black had also been tossed around, but she said that Irsay hated black on uniforms and vetoed it every time it came up. Not sure what sort of inside knowledge she had, if any, but most of the people working at that store seemed to be pretty knowledgable about more than I would've guessed for just being team store employees.
  13. That's why they have Alternate uniforms. And? The early 2000s Ottawa Senators distinctly stand out to me because half the time they wore the 3D logo and half the time they wore the 2D logo. The Habs are another great example because their uniforms are so historic. The mismatched look worked for the Senators. That set was a million times better than what they wear now. I have to disagree. I HATED their 3D logo jerseys, and the current number/letter font is also a lot better. Just my opinion, but while I really liked the original Sens jerseys, I have never understood the love for their 3D black alternate or red home from that era. Also, aside from it being a template jersey, I don't understand the hatred for their current set.
  14. As much as I like tradition, I think I'm the only person on the planet that likes the Buccaneers newest uniforms. I'm going to go run and hide now, tell me when it's safe to come out...
  15. Love that Indians jersey. Strangely enough, I played that exact Sox/Indians uni matchup in MLB 13 The Show today.
  16. Where do you think the Chinese fakes are made? I'm aware of that. I already said that I don't support counterfeiters. However, and forgive my naïvety here, but it seems like the money would be a lot more evenly distributed in a counterfeit shop that doesn't have 1,000 employees in multiple countries. Exactly my point. What's the problem with that? The message here is that it's okay for companies to enjoy the luxuries that the United States provides, but it's okay to send jobs overseas that pay peanuts in order for your shareholders to gain an extra 5%. We're definitely not seeing any savings on the retail sticker. It's a morality issue, just the same as counterfeiting. That's why I don't support either side. I'm not going to lie...I have and DO buy jerseys from legit sources, never counterfeit, but I feel bad about supporting low working conditions every time.
  17. this has nothing to do with high and mighty...I'm not justifying the price point but you're completely ignoring the cost of shipping, overstock distribution not to mention the multiple entities that get a share of the margin...what you are seeing with many types of products in the marketplace is a trend toward raising the price points which prices some consumers out of the market but allows for higher margins at the expense of loyal consumers. Right, but that's not really what I meant. I understand that there's a cost to doing business. My main point isn't so much about the final cost of the product, it's about the final cost coupled with labor costs. If you're going to charge so much, you should at least pay your labor force. And since you mentioned shipping costs, it's a lot cheaper to ship a jersey from a factory in Missouri than from China.
  18. I don't buy counterfeits because I am pretty particular about fonts, numbers, and materials. At the same time, if I did choose to buy them, I wouldn't feel bad about it in the least. The designers definitely deserve to be compensated, obviously, but when you have companies like Nike (as 9erssteve pointed out) paying their labor 25 cents an hour to sew $10 worth of fabric together, they deserve to be screwed. It isn't even about the base cost, because there's a price to be paid for quality, and I don't mind paying it, as I have around 20 authentic NHL jerseys, some of which are 20 years old. My problem lies with the labor. Yes, they do have the authority to charge whatever they want for a jersey. In a lot of cases, the costs are going up while quality goes down (see: Edge 1.0). No problem...I can vote with my wallet and just not buy it. But seriously, people here get high and mighty about Nike not getting their money, but no one cares that they're paying a 10 year old Asian kid 10 cents an hour with no bathroom breaks to make them. So let's get off of the high horse. If you're going to be up in arms about Nike or Adidas not getting their money, you should also be pissed about their labor practices.
  19. Oh, absolutely. I wasn't making the argument for the current Rams sets against the Super Bowl set. I would love for them to revert back to those. What I meant was that I prefer the gold pants with the current uniform over the monochrome blue look, and even over the white pants.
  20. Why? I like the Ram's look. I wish they get the helmets right. I will show you which Ram's look really sucks the most. ^ That one sucks the most. The nylon type khaki color pants with navy blue looks so dead, I don't even watch the Rams games much anymore because of this dreaded look. I like those pants 100000x more than the blue pants, and I don't really like the white pants either. You really stopped watching a team just because of the uniforms? I buy Sunday Ticket every year just to be able to watch the Rams, so I would've understood if you'd have said their play over the past decade has turned you off. But the unis?
  21. I don't get it. I mean, how hard is it to get the correct fonts and not have 3 different sizes of lettering on the same nameplate? I know that people buy them regardless, and some are a lot better than others, but I'd never wear one of those disasters. Not only from a morality standpoint, but they look unbelievably obvious. And maybe it's been said before in the thread, but to me the football fakes look just like those "Coliseum" brand jerseys that legit retailers sell for $50.
  22. Agreed. I wouldn't mind the logo as a secondary mark to be used on hats, t-shirts, etc, but I absolutely hated those jerseys.
