  1. Hell that might be something I so waiting to do concepts! The Rookie League teams are just named like Texas Rookie Texans and use the primary branding. Put all the caps together in one spot for you all, nearly spelled a bad word too.
  2. Still beefing up the back catalog before I post another set of 3. There's a few I have half of an idea for, but want to push them further. But for now, I made some league logos for the OOTP save. As I said at one point, I have three main leagues of 20-16-16 divided by skill level with promotion and relegation between them. Then there's a massive 36 team Class A league that's the top minor league to acting to develop players, or provide a reserve roster for bigger states. The teams in this league are branded as real minor league identities and it's kind of fun to see them all together. Then finally, four regional Rookie Leagues to develop draft picks and anyone under 22. For smaller states like Montana and Vermont, this is their top level of minor league since the player pool is so shallow. Even then I have to auto fill the rosters with fake players. The top league has California and Texas win about 120 games a season, with Georgia and Florida battling it out in the South Division of it. California won the first two titles over Florida, then Georgia just beat Texas in year 3. League 2 is interesting because it's the most competitive. League 3 has 4 or so teams that dominate the smaller states but get dominated in League 2 upon moving up. I think i'm about to take over League 3 Utah and see if I can develop their minor leagues to get to the top league and challenge the establishment.
  3. Lol well I will say the comments on North Carolina were frustratingly predictable, to no ones fault. I heard the same thing on twitter from UNC fans. I've been trying to figure out how to address them for a few days. I feel like i'm receptive to feedback as a whole. That being said, I think I just like the red and black more? I tried a few quick ideas, the Hickory Crawdads comment was a good shout. It was definitely a mistake to tie it to the Hurricanes and Wolfpack in my comments because these all are agnostic from existing pro teams. I can just see North Carolina being those colors. I felt Carolina blue was too tied to one specific team, a popular team no doubt, but I don't want to see this in game and just see a UNC uniform. Hell, it was a mistake having Tennessee orange and blue early on because I feel pretty similar. Hell, I had plans in my original color sheet to have a light blue, but moved away from it. I'm still going to try and come up with some new ideas. I don't want to just add a stroke to the text and arm stripes because what I feel like is a strong 2 color identity immediately feels like a watered down 3 color identity with a color just to have it. I hope that makes sense, I totally get the feedback everyone had said and really appreciate the time it took to comment. Oh and Mississippi was designed simple, but of course Oakland and St. Louis have numbers so i'll see what they look like on Mississippi too. Delaware and Pennsylvania are really cool, i'm excited to show you all in a few days. The last 15 or so have felt really strong and it's made me look back on the older ones and consider pushing more. Oh and @MJD7, the font is called Strikers Swash. EDIT What about something like this?
  4. Italy (L $30) and Monterrey (XL $24) kits at a Ross in St. Pete yesterday. I would've bought the Italy one had it been an XL
  5. NY/NJ Hitmen jersey at O'Hare last month
  6. Thanks for the comments gang. Noting your comments, specifically about Rhode Island. I'll keep an open mind to work on that monogram, but I do think it's much better than the old RI because it's simpler. Updates may come. I think I just didn't develop the M cap logo enough, it may be a case of removing some outlines. I know the Twins have a new logo that's the M-star and I could do that, but don't expect wholesale changes. Oregon 28/52 Early on, Oregon had a great suggestion to use the colors from a license plate. I haven't had the pleasure of going to Washington and Oregon, but I needed to make them different and this was a good start. The idea was a funky looking font, but went with something that felt more outdoors-y, while still looking unique. The O's feature a illustrated tree. The torso of the jersey has a faint plaid design like the old New York Giants uniforms, but I felt that if any state could pull it off, it would be Oregon. Mississippi 29/52 I took a pretty long break between Oregon and the next one. But when i got back on my file, I saw a half completed Mississippi design. The idea was an M with the features of a steam boat you'd find on the Mississippi river. Overall this set is simple. It uses Modesto with some spurs on the side to add some depth. North Carolina 30/52 I knew I wanted to put JUST Carolina on this one, just to differentiate it from South Carolina. It would be a much easier script to design around. That being said, I didn't want to use Carolina blue. So many surrounding states have shades of blue, so I felt like using red and black would work. There's not too much red in this project, and this would relate back to teams like the Hurricanes and Wolfpack (my dad wen to NC State too, so definitely no Carolina blue). With just the script and an interlocking NC, it felt really classic and I was happy to go with it. But it didn't have much meaning. What I did was slant the cap logo forward and go with sleeve stripes similar to the Angels City Connect. This gave a sense of speed and boldness, which relates to North Carolina's stock car history. We can just say it looks like Dale Jr's old car.
  7. Here is the roll out of the city specific branding + motion package. Still not defending the literal PNG but this is super bold.
  8. Late night post! This thread slowed down obviously because of real life, but I don't think I was as proud of some recent work as I had been when I posted it. Instead of trekking forward, I took a step back and wanted to redo some I felt could be better. This comment was so good I wish I thought of it. I did really like Rhode Island's, but I felt like the Iogo wasn't cohesive. The pinstripes were cool, but I think I could have done it better. Here is an update. The hat features a fake rope, with a rope pattern replacing the pinstripes. But the biggest update is a new RI monogram where the I forms the anchor. South Dakota is another update. I think the more I looked at it the more I felt i could do something better. Short of drawing a pheasant, it felt flat but the idea was there. I chose a new font and adjusted the colors in the gradient to be a bolder gold and orange. I finished Mississippi tonight and Oregon has been done for a bit. I think i'm gonna move forward right now although I am thinking about the comments on previous ones. Although every time I see Minnesota I feel like it could be cleaned up significantly. That may be the next update. Also @JerseyJimmy DM'd me and asked what a few teams looked like - would that be something you all would be interested in for finished teams?
  9. Never once said the logo was good, just that I see what they were going for with the encompassing brand. Thanks for the quote though.
  10. After sitting on it for a night and seeing more designs come out around the brand, I see what they were going for. I don't agree with a logo PNG front and center, but like, they went for a country neutral route for the biggest world cup yet. But there's a lot of interesting elements in the entire brand. It's a flexible logo for a world cup that spans 3 countries. But then again, i've matured enough to see what the NFL is doing with the super bowl. That's what this is.
  11. South Dakota 25/52 This one is a little off the wall but hear me out. For the Mount Rushmore state, I went back to the deep well that is the state birds list. The Ringed Neck Pheasant is a colorful bird that I took inspiration from. The head is a burgundy and blue, with the body having a gradient pattern of orange and gold with dots. Clearly, I took inspiration from the Devil Rays for this. I think the colors are super strong, but would like to hear feedback on the overall design! Idaho 26/52 Wow half way already? Idaho is known as the Gem State. Great, that we can work off of. A list of the more popular gems include Jade, and the state gem, the Star Garnet. Jade and a deep purplish color gives me an excuse to make a Mighty Ducks looking brand for Idaho. Because that was the idea, I needed to make this look very 1990s expansion team. The script was easy enough since the state name is small, but I did heavy drop shadows on both the script and cap logo. The cap logo is an I paired with the state outline, and the letter features the usual star found on said Star Garnet. Rhode Island 27/52 Really struggled to figure out what I wanted for the smallest state. I had a random moment of inspiration while on a flight to make a logo that featured the anchor from the state flag paired with an RI. This was made the same week the Mariners City Connect came out too. I think this cap may be one of the best yet. The pinstripes are really unique in that they're stroked and feature less stripes, kind of like the Pirates used to have in the 90s. Have took a self imposed break on doing any design after my real job, and may come back with some more this week. Oregon and North Dakota are the ones that are done. I have ideas for plenty of states, but it's a matter of pulling them off how I have in my mind - easier said than done. Thanks for your continued support, this is my most successful concept thread in years and I really appreciate everyone commenting!
  12. Hey dudes. Bit of a slow down on my part but there's currently 5 you haven't seen, including one of my new favorites. Until then, I wanted to change up Georgia. I liked the black and peach, but I think this is a good side movement and frees up a black/white color scheme for one of their neighbors.
  13. Tired: Oh the pirates are doing retro inspired uniforms just like the recent ones, and nothing to do with the CITY? Wired: These are gonna be yellow with black pants, if I had to guess
  14. Maine 22/52 Maine's logo was an idea i had for a few weeks, and finally sat down to make, came together very fast on the first try. Yes, that is lobster claws making an M. Definitely could have gone a few directions, but feel like i needed more blue and red teams. I saw jersey striping like this on another thread and wanted to mimic it. The faint pinstripes added a little bit of texture and old school vibes. Oklahoma 23/52 Oklahoma's logo centered around the color scheme. I didn't want to just copy the Sooners, but I do love this color of burgundy. The colors are taken directly from the Oklahoma flag. The O logo is based on the Osage buffalo skin shield that also is on the flag. I felt like this had to be a classier look, and went with an off white with trim on the collar. South Carolina 24/52 South Carolina was a brand that I had in my head since the beginning and i finally put it together. What's funny is this went through the most revisions before posting. I tried three different fonts, sat on it, then wanted to change it. The flag has the famous palmetto tree and crescent moon. The palm makes the I and the crescent makes the O. The original cap logo had an S-tree-C lockup, but I wanted to try the one you see below and it was too clean not to make the final version. Starting to slow down because I only have 3 more in the can after this trio! If you haven't seen your state, definitely open to suggestions. I don't want to say what I have done or plans for though. The colors I have ear marked can be seen below!
  15. To me, that's more Arizona than San Antonio.
  16. Thanks everyone! Gonna move along here and maybe look into updating Maryland New Jersey 19/52 The fighting Mike Trouts have the same problem as the Angels. Top heavy with superstars and then some guys. I opened my twitter thread to suggestions and one I saw a few times was old navy and buff gold. I was inspired by looking at Georgia Tech baseball uniforms and their nice script with their move away from Russell Athletic. I put Jersey on the front too, so save me your "hat" jokes because I made a NJ monogram that fit together. Ohio 20/52 I really was unsure what I wanted to do for this one, but it needed to be good since it's one of the remaining big states. I enjoy the iconic Ohio flag and thought to put it flying through an O for the cap. Then from there I mimicked the 1980s Cleveland racing stripe uniforms on a pullover. New Mexico 21/32 For Arizona, I referenced how I always want to do turquoise for them but could use it for another state. I found this inline font I like and really liked it for New Mexico, and from there I arched the script and put the sun from their flag on the front to take inspiration from the Blue Jays. I added a little serif action to the cap logo just to add definition to the interlocking letters. The inline helped me show the shape of the letters too, because it did get a little muddy where they come together. The next 3 have two of my favorite cap logos in this whole thing, fair warning!
  17. Louisiana 16/52 Something i'm conscious of is just having 52 letter logos, I want to incorporate more iconography if it represents the state as a whole (there's more to Washington than the Space Needle, ya know?). One easy way to do this is state animals. I wanted to do a Pelican for Louisiana, and playing with some fonts, I had the idea to tuck one in to the negative space of the L. Drew a lined version of the bird to match the font, and put fleur de lis to dot the I's on the full thing. (This might end up being my favorite look in the whole series) Arkansas 17/52 Arkansas doesn't have an insane amount to work with, like many states. But it does have a very nice flag. The flag is a wide diamond on red with plenty of stars. I felt like it could lean itself to a baseball identity pretty well. I used Clarendon and basically stole the AFC logo and put it on a diamond. Kept everything simple and clean. I also took a cue from the Angels city connect with a front number in a diamond. Maryland 18/52 Guess what I did for Maryland. You'll never guess. it's so innovative. Hope you like the Maryland flag! I mean, how could I not? In something that UM might wear, I took inspiration from a different UM. The University of Miami uses an old english M. Maryland's name comes from British Royalty, so I figured I could use my one old English font choice here. For any map heads out there, I've been tracking these all in my files. I did have to remove some so I wouldn't spoil this thread's canon, but I can say we're officially sea to shining sea.
  18. Thank you so much for your feedback! Your WBC series and @Victormrey's series heavily inspired me to make this. I think in the case of Florida, I had done green and orange for many versions of a Florida themed team. I think wanting to do something different and clean was a big influence for the green/yellow look. I may circle back and do some alternates and that's definitely something i'll consider. I have a few in the tank but i'll go ahead and post revisions. Hawaii, good suggestion for the triangle pattern. I think I felt like it was too obvious but it looks good none-the-less. Texas, fair points about breaking the horns from the vertical section. I got rid of the border and made the shading show the break between the horns and letter.
  19. what an absolutely beautiful set. I adore your style and think this is such a unique concept. The R-ball and R-wings that mimic the building are especially class.
  20. You could have a very clean Rockies version of the Angels late 90s brand and I think that's achievable but unsure if it looks correct right now. I think the all caps font is an improvement, but it's probably too generic of font compared to other pro teams. Also the patch logo being a pick axe/baseball bat feels too nuggets, and would be too thin to work as a stand alone patch. They're themed after the geography, not a specific profession. I think a mountain climber ice ax would work better if you're committed to the crossed icons. I think you're knocking at the door to something really special, and you're capable of that. Just keep trying to push it and make it more uniquely Rockies.
  21. Hello! Sorry I took a break. Had a week that I didn't really do much designing on this and was working on a different personal project. I want to keep chugging a long though. Even if this lost a little steam, I still have a few in the can for you all. I will take a look at editing the Texas and Hawaii ones to your suggestions too. But moving on, this might be my favorite trio so far to share. 13/52 Michigan I went in thinking "oh definitely a car themed one with Lions colors" but some Michigander friends made some suggestions. One I really liked was a forest green, cyan, and hunter orange color scheme. That would stand out very well in this. The logo is modeled after a chrome hood ornament, but to represent the whole state, I wanted to mimic a waterfall on the subtle use of gradient. The uniform is pretty simple and matches the Tigers, but I decided to only stylize the M so it stands out more. Not sure the inspiration but I think it looks really cool like this. 14/52 Virginia This one might be the fastest from initial suggestion to finished concept there is. A friend from Virginia did a write up, but ended on the slogan "Virginia is for Lovers". It's an iconic slogan, and the V for Virignia would be the perfect spot to nestle in a heart. 15/52 Arizona My go to for Arizona is always turquoise, copper, and black. This thinking goes back for nearly 15 years. But since I would also be making a different southwestern state that heavily features the color, I decided to go for the desert landscape looking garnet, sand, and orange. High on my priority was using native American style patterns on here, and made one that matched the angle of the A. The pattern worked well for a sleeve stripe too.
  22. Definitely planning on a trip out there just to cross off the Coliseum before it's gone. AT&T too, I suppose lol. Bummer city
