  1. I'd like to see the time-lapse transformation to that, then back to the pitch. That's a pretty remarkable change. Here's the best one I could find. Doesn't show the overhead camera the whole time which is unfortunate, but still pretty cool. http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1610679505?bclid=1497977641&bctid=1342094140
  2. The Wizards used to play at Community America Ballpark which is home to The T-Bones of the American Association. Pretty strange set up, but the park is fairly small so it was pretty easy to see everything.
  3. It's supposed to emulate a real helmet. The bright blue one above is a bit odd, but when they're black or a dark color, it's not exactly that far off. Besides I think the random green patch in the middle of the helmet would look just as odd as the blue does Yea, I'd much prefer them to be black, or even grey.
  4. This has probably already been said, but I don't want to go through 24 pages so I apologize, but watching the games yesterday reminded me of it. It really bothers me when teams that have helmet logos at midfield have the ear hole colored in, instead of being empty. I don't know why it bothers me, it just does.
  5. The Chiefs don't have their name on the nose bumper.
  6. Yea, the Solarium looks pretty weird when it's closed, but open it's nice. I really like the idea of the other one though.
  7. And as long as Clark Hunt is running the team, that'll hold true. If it's not broken, don't fix it.
  8. Really loving the Vikes new digs. Perfect combination of a traditional design with some modern thrown in. I love that helmet as well.
  9. I'm assuming the picture came from Nike HQ. So, someone that was invited took the pictures.
  10. From that angle, the only thing I'm not feeling are the road sleeves... what a fustercluck. Honest question, how can you see the away sleeves? All I see is the home blocking the view of the away. You can see it in the reflection of the wall/mirror. Right in front of the Jags away mannequin. Except those are the home uniforms. As evident by the purple jersey and white pants. I didn't notice the pants. It looks like a white jersey to me, but it's a bad angle in the first place. EDIT: Looks like the mirror is distorting the jersey, so the white that I thought was the jersey is just the white stripe from the home jersey. My mistake.

  12. And since it goes by draft order, the Jags would be front and center right behind the Chiefs, which they aren't. I don't think the NFL would make that kind of mistake this far into it.
  13. I paused it basically frame by frame and couldn't see jerseys for the Jags, Dolphins, or Vikings. They must have conveniently left them out.
  14. im going to stay open to this possibility. i like black as a modern neutral. like Minnesota U. (or is it U of Minnesota?) plus, we don't know anything of the helmet yet except it's "some old and some new". i joked, but i honestly like the idea of a silver shell/purple mask I'm with you on that. Not sure how it would look with the rest of the uniform, but I like that color combination.
  15. Satin? Not sure if satin would be the correct adjective to describe a military ammo box color/texture. I guess satin wasn't the right word. It's basically a semi-gloss (as far as the Seahawks go). I just brought that up because I'm not a huge fan of matte, but the semi-gloss on Seattle's lids looks really good. It's straddling the line between matte and glossy.
  16. So, basically a satin type of finish, like the Seahawks helmets?
  17. When an NFL player says it looks tougher, I just imagine it will be a satin finish much like the Seahawks. That's it. I'm not putting too much stock into it.
  18. Looking at the pictures of the old and new pants, it appears they zoomed in a lot more on the new pants to throw everyone off on the striping pattern. The holes in the mesh on the picture of the new pants are bigger and there is more detail overall. I was thinking that as well. IMO, I think the stripes will go thin purple, gold, fat purple middle, gold, thin purple.
  19. Yea, I'm not seeing any black anywhere either.
  20. I actually don't mind the use of red here. It's minimal, but still sets off a nice lil' bit of visual impact. But nevermind all that...when the heck did they become the "Command"? What was wrong with "Brigade"? (Not that it was that great a nickname to begin with, but it at least had s shred of uniqueness to them. "Command", though...just lame.) They scrapped the Brigade nickname after the league went under a couple years ago. I guess they wanted a fresh start with a new name/ownership when the league reformed.
  21. Am I the only one who finds it odd that the promotional materials for an Arena Football League team are shot outdoors? There's a lot going on here, and I don't see a reason to like any of it. Wordmarks of that size, and in a standard block font, are for college and below. You claim to be a pro team, you don't do that. Period. Agreed. Not only is that template horrendous, but the red is a completely unnecessary addition.
