Conversely, Albany has one of the biggest arenas among the small-northeast-market teams, something like 12,000, and their attendance is terrible. I suspect apathy toward the Devils and the Devils running a bare-bones operation that doesn't get people in the door. Maybe that's where the Rangers' affiliate belongs, not Hartford or Binghamton. You've gotta imagine most people in Albany are Rangers fans.

This is the problem in my understanding. I'm not sure how much of an NHL following there is in Albany, but many SUNY students from Westchester, NYC, & LI are Rangers fans. Of course college students aren't buying season tickets, but if they actually make an effort to appeal to that demographic their attendance could shoot up remarkably.

They won't, but I can see an AHL where New York State is down to Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany, and that's it. The AHL has already retreated from the Maritimes, and now they're barely even in New England (Bridgeport is in Fairfield, it doesn't really count). The Pennsylvania teams all seem safe because the arenas are new, medium-sized, and in proximity to their parent teams, but you gotta think Utica isn't gonna last much longer with a distant parent team and a small old arena in a small poor town. Hard to feel great about the direction of this league; no one's calling for an all-New York bus league but concentrating on the hockey-fertile Northeast seems like good business for the game at all levels.

If Binghamton doesn't get another AHL team, which would honestly be crushing considering how depressed the city is, I could see Syracuse getting a solid bump in attendance. It's only an hour north from Bingo, which has had AHL hockey almost continuously since the late 70's, and seeing the crowd that shows up at B-Sens games I'm sure many of them are traveling a bit to even get to Binghamton in the first place.

  3. Would somebody please tell me what kind of numbers do the Blue Bombers use?

Just looks like a full block, shouldn't be too difficult to modify an existing block font in Illustrator to fit your needs.

  4. Doesn't change the fact that you're an ignorant fool for failing to acknowledge the negative implications of the counterfeit jersey trade.

    Meh

    BBTV said it pretty well:

My point through this whole "debate" has always been that I don't really care if you choose to do it (though I think it's just a bad idea to), it's just that people should recognize why it's wrong and who they're hurting. If someone recognizes the facts and still chooses to do it, then oh well. Just don't come on here and defend it or argue that you're in the right.

When someone's being so ignorant to the extent that they look down upon others for analyzing the legal implications of counterfeit jerseys, they're the ones who should be laughed at. It's been said countless times within this thread and elsewhere- you may feel justified in purchasing a counterfeit jersey for reasons such as high turnover of players, the high cost of authentic jerseys, etc. but that doesn't change the fact that the counterfeit jersey market is illegal and by purchasing one you are supporting illegal trade.

  5. I was directed to this thread by one of the guys I get jerseys for, we both think you are all hilarious. I have several china jerseys and they have all stood up to multiple washes and look great for the price. I feel no shame depriving the leagues of my money in this case. I go to several games a year, pay for center ice, sunday ticket ect... The way players change teams and teams change designs I will continue to do this.

Sick bro, you really showed us  Doesn't change the fact that you're an ignorant fool for failing to acknowledge the negative implications of the counterfeit jersey trade.

  6. This is how I add logos to jerseys:

Start out by getting your logo and jersey you want to put it on:

    Picture1.png

Copy the base of the jersey and place the logo over wherever you want it.

    Picture2.png

Select it all then click "Divide" in the pathfinder window. It turns all the divided paths into a group. Ungroup it all.

    Picture3.png

If you zoom in you see it divided all the paths wherever the logo overlaps the jersey.

    Picture4.png

Delete all the stuff besides the overlapping space, aka what's selected in the last photo and the jersey base. You end up with this:

    Picture5.png

I usually group the remnants of the original logo so it's easier to work with. Then drag 'em over on top of the jersey and place 'em. It helps to zoom in a good amount to make sure it lines up seamlessly.

    Picture8.png

    Tada, perfectly placed logos.

    Picture9.png

Prolly not the "correct" way to do it, but you don't have to mess with layers or anything so it's pretty easy to do.
