  1. The problem with the Marlins' black jersey is how they use it. Right now, inside in Houston, it looks fine and the letters/numbers are easy to read. The problem seems to come when they wear it outside at night, so they should just stop doing that.

  2. Maybe it's just because The Last Dance premiered last night but all I can think about is how, for all the mistakes they made, at least the Bulls didn't change their iconic jerseys after Jordan left. I wasn't even crazy about the Patriots' old look (too many details) but this is a very generic downgrade.

It still happened! Airbrushing it out is low-rent.

Just because something happened doesn't mean it has to be remembered, particularly when it's a reminder of how some people in our society are treated like second class citizens. Nobody would be calling for something more overtly racist to be put in a video game just because it had happened.

Baseball is The History Sport except when the history is the stupid grinning Indian logo in which case it was made to have never happened.

The History of Baseball loses nothing by forgetting Wahoo.

Wonder if that ends up getting worn at home with the White Pinstripes? The standard Brown Jersey is the official Road Jersey, so... I don't think it could be worn at home

They've said they want to keep the look as simple as they can at first so they'll probably just wear white at home (besides the camo).

It appears the Brewers are indeed testing the waters with royal blue and powder blue on fan gear.

I can't say I know of too many people who'd be happy if this became a thing.

The Padres have the same shirt in brown so I'm guessing it's just a fashion thing.

yeah i don't get too worked up over ST caps. let them play around before the season starts. the player's weekend nonsense is where i draw the line.

ST/BP is a great place for them to wild out but instead they go with sub-fashion cap looks all the time.

    ...no Padres hat.

this has been the worst new uniform rollout i've ever seen. you can't buy the jerseys and there's one damn hat. figure it out Padres.

    You've got to be patient:

Changing your longtime color scheme just because too many other teams have it is about the worst branding direction a team can take. If they were to change it because they feel they've created a new brand they feel is better for the team, then so be it. But changing for the sake of changing is violating Marketing 101 and you're basically doomed from the start.

The big argument for the Padres bringing back the brown was that everyone wears blue.

The Astros comparison is actually perfect. Just to add to that comparison: I remember people being really annoyed with the bevel on the Astros' star when the rebrand was first unveiled, much like how people are annoyed by the minor tweaks to the Ball in Glove now. And - potentially unpopular opinion - both teams' had their best identities in the '90s, while their current brands are bland, inoffensive "classic" looks that fail to distinguish them from the crowd.

No one else wears blue and yellow so the Brewers definitely stick out.

  11. The Marlins and Rays would be fine if they updated their current looks to put more emphasis on their secondary colors. They don't need a page one rewrite like the Padres and Brewers did.

Personally, I'd put the Rockies at the top of the list for teams that need to change it up. They've had a just OK look for 25 years.
