  1. It never ceases to bother me how the Syracuse Orange keep adding more and more navy to their football uniforms. How hard is it to just make a football version of their basketball uniforms? Hopefully the use of more blue will carry over to the basketball team and they will get rid of the ducktape numbers in favor of more blue.
  2. New Syracuse helmet finished with Decal

  4. Looks like navy blue for Syracuse. Courtesy of DT Andrew Lewis
  5. Two of the influential members of Final Four teams have worn it Derrick Coleman '87 and John Wallace '96. So it does have some significance in the basketball world, albeit not as much as the football side. Edit: I also agree that the duck tape numbers should've been replaced. I've done a quick and dirt PS job on what they could/should have done. Then use orange with navy trim on the home whites.
  6. Beat me to it, was just coming from TNIAAM to post this. I am ok with everything but the duck tape numbers.
  7. I got to bow out, Was trying to get this done before leaving for Florida tomorrow for two weeks, but was unsuccessful. Good luck everyone
  8. I'm gonna reserve Syracuse. I may or may not have time, but I'm gonna give it a try
  9. The Saltine warrior was just a mascot. They have pretty much been the Orangemen all along. From SUAthletics.com The Syracuse Orange In June 1872, Syracuse adopted rose pink and pea green as the official colors of the University and its athletic teams. The colors were changed the next year to rose tint and azure, later becoming pink and blue. After a football field meet at nearby Hamilton College in 1889 which Syracuse won, derisive comments about the victors’ colors led the SU student body to the conclusion that yet another change should be made. A committee made up of students and faculty members discovered that orange had not been adopted by any college or university as a single color. In 1890 the Alumni Association rendered a unanimous decision and orange has been the sole official color of Syracuse University since that year. Men’s varsity teams soon became known as the Orange or Orangemen. When women began competing in varsity sports in 1971, they selected the nickname Orangewomen. In 2004, the University made the decision to have all teams, men and women, referred to as the Syracuse Orange, to reflect the original nickname of SU's teams.
  10. I thought I heard on the SNY broadcast something about all teams wearing them all weekend
  11. I agree except the logotype and numbers should be orange on the blue uniform. I'd be OK if they kept the black as a drop shadow only.
  12. From SUAthletics.com Its all about color, not the fruit.
  13. Billy Edelin #14 would make more sense that Matty Gorman,as Gorman saw minimal action that season and Edelin was a huge part of the team as a spark off the bench. Pretty cool sig concept though
  14. It would make more sense to put Notre Dame in the Big East since they play every other sport as a member of the Big East
  15. Lets just hope that this can become a reality. The move of their affiliation to New Orleans sucked because we don't even get our one series a year to see the Mets AAA team here in Syracuse. If Toronto breaks ties with the Chiefs and the Mets jump in, I'd get season tickets in a heartbeat. As for the uniforms I like the Chiefs script as it looks like it could be made from the same font as the Mets script if it existed. I'm not a big fan of the conductor/train motif, though it is better than the SkyChiefs one, and there's no way they would bring back the indian logos.
  16. if you have photoshop or fireworks or some other image editing program you can edit the custom graphics. Look in you my documents folder for a Madden08 folder and in there should be a custom art folder which has five folders in it, one for each graphic you need for a custom/relocated team.
  17. For my second rebranding I chose to go with the Jays. I decided to go with a tweaked version of their original bird head logo. I also went with dark royal, sky blue and red for the color scheme. For the font I went with a tweaked existing font. Uniforms to come once I find a better template. C+C appreciated Past Concepts in this series Colorado Rockies
  18. Updated unis, I cleaned up the wordmarks and made black the dominant color for the hats and the alt. I consider these to be done and will be moving on the another team, not sure which yet. Thanks for the C+C.
  19. Here are the unis, The template is one that I created myself. Home: Away: Alt: I still need to clean up the wordmarks a bit but you get the idea No it looks fine, the inner black outline lines up perfectly with the outline of the ball as intended.
  20. Okay after much internal debate I decided to ditch the simple sans-serif font for one with some serifs. I tweaked the colors of the wordmark a bit for readability. I decided not to us the asymmetrical beveled mountains though because I feel the simplicity of my original design works best. Now for the secondary logo. I wanted to incorporate the ball from their original logo and was inspired by St Patty's use of the Colorado flag for his Avs alt logo. I know the C looks like the cubs a bit but it is almost an exact trace of the Colorado flag and the ball represents the circle inside of it. Not the most original idea, but i think it fits. I have uni's as well, I will post them in another reply so as not to take up too much in this one
  21. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am still at my conference til tomorrow and don't have my source files with me. I will look to add some of the suggestions, but not all. When I post the next one I will explain (defend) my decision to use/not use them. i also have an idea for a secondary logo that could also be used for the cap logo, but I want to work that up before saying any more about, else someone might beat me to the punch and design it, lol.
  22. My Mets had the day off, but I watched a bit of the White Sox/Twins on WGN though and I believe they both had the flag placed further back on the cap as well.
