Summer Collegiate Okotoks Dawgs unveil what they are calling City Town Connect jerseys. It's an all-black version of their existing alternate jersey of a couple years, which I already wasn't a huge fan of, and I guess that hat is supposed to be a D in a wildly mismatching font? Really feels like they saw the Reds City Connects and said "we could make that work".

Not to make this thread even hotter with nothing new, what's everyone's thoughts on this logo that came with the new Jets set of logos? I want to like it and I think it's clever but it might just be too minimalist?

I was just looking through the online shop, and while I'll wait until closer to the season for the dust to settle and potentially more options to show up to actually buy things, I'm second guessing which items are new and which are throwbacks from previous years.

Another name I could potentially like would be the Utah Raptors because a Utahraptor is an actual dinosaur... but that just ends up with the same issues as Grizzlies with a different NBA team.

While I was never as anti-previous Jets set as some people, they definitely became dated very quickly while these new old ones are classic football uniforms. Here's the rest of the logo slick.

It's weird seeing some of the discourse this is stirring up. People crying "but Auston Matthews" and "will someone think of the women and children...'s hockey programs". There's only so much money loss people can take. There have been some positives in terms of grassroots efforts with the Coyotes but it's like people have forgotten (or just aren't aware) about just how moribund of a franchise Coyotes have been for their existence.

The person who posted those Jets jerseys on the subreddit said in the comments that they created the graphic based on what they were told about the uniforms and also created the various combinations themselves just to show off everything and fill out the graphic. Neither the combos nor the graphic are official. This is what else they said.

I seem to recall that somebody here found an old article that made an off-hand mention of the rule coming in sometime after 2007, so the rule wasn't in place yet.

I think the Angels do and you can see it in these new jerseys where they, for whatever reason though I do have a theory why, added the outlines to the front number but not the back. Maybe it's the fact that the red and blue shades are both dark on a grey jersey making it look drab but I think the white adds a pop to the numbers. Plus now it matches the outlines on the script whereas none of the numbers on the white nor the greys previously ever did. However, now it's only slightly less inconsistent and the red jerseys numbers don't match anymore, so one step forward two steps back. I also think the Reds post-Big Red Machine greys look better with the white outline.

My local summer collegiate team, the Okotoks Dawgs, have their Father's Day game as one of their premiere games along with Opening Day/Weekend and Canada Day.

The brown remains unchanged.

It's their first Reverse Retro so they probably did do that. Adidas wasn't going to make them anymore but I guess the Flyers felt it was something there was still a market for.

Somebody needs to check out the Houston airport for a vinyl wrapped window. (Am I correctly remembering that's the leak of the previous Jags set?)

Not to derail this thread any more, but it's interesting reading that with what's happening/happened here in Calgary and this new arena. I definitely think Calgary is above a Winnipeg or a Hartford, but definitely below Atlanta (don't know much about the Twin Cities, but I think it might be somewhat equivalent). However, the interesting thing is that I don't think Calgary is truly a die-hard "sports town". The difference here in Calgary is that all the sports teams are under the Flames/CSEC to varying levels of success under CSEC rule (but I'm unsure how CSEC measures success with the non-Flames teams nor what Hollywood accounting might be in place regarding finances) so if the Flames went, there would have been massive ripple effects.

Like I said earlier in this thread, at least I think it was this thread, the relocation of the prior two Atlanta franchises can be argued away if wanted. At the very least, I definitely think it's disingenuous to hold the Flames move against any potential future Atlanta team.

A lighter blue would definitely work as brought up by @tBBP. Here's Tufts University. Colorado's burgundy isn't the same as Tuft's brown, it's much more like the Phillies throwbacks which also just happen to use a lighter blue

What are shoes if not jerseys for the feet? I didn't know that Vans was started in Anaheim prior to when these were announced.

The two colours are barely touching on the jersey to begin with though? I mean, because when I look at these, I don't see any contrast issues or bleeding between the two. As opposed to a sharper contrast to break them up, how about just white? Change the grey striping to white and then add a blue stripe "on top" of the white stripe on the aways. Like the Blue Jackets aways.

I just looked to see if there was any crossover when the Ducks switched to the black equipment for a short period, which has been explained away as issues getting the purple equipment (though I don't know if I've ever seen an "official" explanation), but they had the black equipment for 97-98 and 98-99 which is after the Avs came in. However, I do wonder how much, if any, of the Rocky Mountain Extreme made it through to the the Avalanche.

Oil isn't orange, lions aren't Honolulu blue, coyotes don't wear clothes and stand on two legs. The only arguments of that kind that I will accept are whenever a lobster based team (of the very few that there are) uses a red lobster because that means their lobster is dead, cooked and about to be eaten and when the New England Patriots wear red.
