  1. Had the chance to chat with the Nashville Outlaw folks thsi weekend and asked if they got any flak from the Quad City River Bandits anout the logo. The answer was along the lines of "Um, well...oh yeah...They said...We thought the N with the black hat looked better so we changed it up..." So the home hat will now have the above logo ona black cap. Nice dig there Neo at the Oiler/Titans
  2. I saw the same photo and had the same damn question, thanks y'all for the answer.
  3. So apparently Nashville is getting some kind of new baseball team but gosh darn it I swear I've seen that logo some where before Baseball Outlaws ride into town this summer The Nashville Sounds will have company on the local baseball scene this summer. The Nashville Outlaws were introduced Thursday as the newest member of the Prospect League, a summer wood bat league for players who have completed one year of college competition and have remaining eligibility. Founded by three former Sounds? executives, the Outlaws will play a 56-game schedule from June through August. The 28 home games will be played at Vanderbilt?s Hawkins Field. The Prospect League (formerly known as the Central Illinois Collegiate League) began play in 2009 with 11 teams and expanded this year to 15 teams with the addition of Nashville and three others. In December, Dekalb County (Ill.), Terre Haute and West Virginia (Beckley, W.V.) were added.
  4. Damn I'd lost the money if someone would have bet me 5 bucks that anyone would put a Red Grooms piece in a ballpark. Even here in his hometown, Nashville. Nope I woulda lost the bet. Wow. I am big fan of Grooms' stuff, his sculptures are bold, fun works that are just little bizare. But that mural is too much for a baseball stadium.
  5. From the Sally League's new team, the Bowling Green Hot Rods.... Remember when someone may have once told you, "If you see a fork in the road, take it"? What could've been had you listened? In Bowling Green we are going to celebrate "What Could've Been" had Cave Shrimp won the name the team contest last fall. A polarizing name, with people either loving it or hating it, has inspired the Hot Rods staff to ask you, "What Could've Been?" The first 1,000 fans (13 & up) to the game on August 15 will get Cave Shrimp T-shirts courtesy of Southern States. "What Could've Been" if Elvis were still alive? If Columbus didn't get on that boat? If baseball had 4 strikes and three balls? If Hot Rods were Cave Shrimp? Get it? We want to hear from you. This is all in good natured fun so send us your fun ideas about "What Could've Been." To submit your ideas for "What Could've Been Night", send us an email at caveshrimp@bghotrods.com Personally I like this better that the primary "BG" cap logo they chose to keep
  6. Nike designers attempted to Oregon-ifize the Florida Gators and they said "uhm, yeah, well, no thanks." Nike then looked around for the next school in thier stable with blue & orange as their colors and BINGO! Boise State gets new uniforms. Damn those unis are ugly.
  7. Looks like he was inspired by the logo & mascot of Barberitos... supposedly that's a burrito in his hand...
  8. Could the nameplate font size be any BIGGER???? At this rate players with 9 or more letter names will have go down the sleaves... Clownish is the perfect way to describe those batting helmets. Who designed those things? Mikey from Orange County Choppers? Which whiny pitcher is going to be the first one to complain about the glare off those things
  9. I saw this at a screening last month, really enjoyed it. One of the designers interviewed referred to Helvetica as being everywhere, if it were a food it'd be McDonalds, it's . Some suprisingly funny moments in documentary about a typeface. Oh and the passed out buttons, one white with black text that read "I love Helvetica" and the other in reverse the reads "I Hate Helevetica"
  10. The current Phillie colors are one of my absolute favorites in all of sports. I am not a Phils fan but nabbed a pristine batting practice cap (red with the P and two stars in blue) in my size no less awhile back at a Goodwill store for 5 bucks primarily because of the colors.
  11. From The Tennessean.com Titans notebook: Young files trademark lawsuit Titans quarterback Vince Young has filed a lawsuit in Houston against three individuals who applied for the trademark ?VY? and ?INVINCEABLE? after Young guided Texas to the national championship in 2006. Young wants them to relinquish the trademark so he can use it. The third-year pro has been prevented from getting marketing deals, including some that were in the works for Reebok, Young?s agent said Wednesday. The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court on Dec. 12 against Rodney Vannerson, Enos Cabell and Tom Roberson, listed as ?three friends.? ?Vince is aware of it and he is the one who wanted to really pursue it because it?s been a part of him since he was playing in high school,?? agent Major Adams said. ?It is standing in the way of some things Vince wants to do. Even Reebok wanted to do some VY things and they had to back off because of litigation.?? Attempts to reach Young for comment Wednesday were unsuccessful. His attorney, Delphine James, did not return a phone call. Young guided Texas past USC in the 2006 Rose Bowl for the national championship. A few days later he declared himself eligible for the NFL Draft and was selected third overall by the Titans. A day after the Rose Bowl, Adams said, the three defendants went to try and trademark ?VY? and ?INVINCEABLE.? Young didn?t realize it until after he had declared for the draft. Young became known as ?INVINCEABLE? at Texas and was nicknamed ?VY? as a youngster, Adams said. _________________________ Did you know there is an OFFICIAL VY Vince Young store too http://10vinceyoung.com/vystore/shopexd.asp?id=38
  12. I also miss the Bungles older unis, and for the record absolutely dispise their current horrendous set of duds. Keep the tiger stripe helmets, the current pants are OK but those jerseys are a techni-color trainwreck. Mike Reinfeldt, Titans GM, makes a weekly appearance on a local sportstalk radio show. Floyd Reese did it too before he was run out of town, how many other NFL GM's do this, I wonder. This week a caller asked Reinfeldt about throwbacks uniforms. He did not confirm a date or even year but did say he thought the Titans will be wearing some soon and it will be from around the '61 Oilers era.
  13. I like the logo, integrating the multiple guitar images and the sweeping notes. No over use of gradients and or any Copper Plate, over all I think its a winner *fixed it, i read gooder next time From the Tennessean Nashville to host Women's Final Four in 2014 http://tennessean.com/article/20081114/SPORTS06/81114087 INDIANAPOLIS--- Nashville has been selected to host the women?s NCAA Final Four college basketball championships in 2014. Awarding of the event follows a lengthy application process by the Nashville Sports Council and the Ohio Valley Conference. In all, the NCAA Division I Women?s Basketball Committee selected five future Women?s Final Four sites for the years 2012-2016. ?The women?s basketball committee invested a tremendous amount of time and effort in the Women?s Final Four site selection process,? said Jacki Silar, chair of the NCAA Division I Women?s Basketball Committee and associate director of athletics at Duke University. ?It was a very difficult and important decision and it was the committee?s charge to determine which of the cities would best serve as future host sites for the pinnacle of women?s basketball ? the Women?s Final Four.?
  14. Reaqlly guys, if you coached this team would you bother with any more than a team tee-shirt and ball cap? The least of their issues is a coach's wardrobe. And what are they gonna do? Fire him? Rod is just playing out the string 'cause the next GM will bring in his own coach.
