  1. http://wapc.mlb.com/cutfour/2014/03/27/70253414/jonathan-papelbon-wears-carlos-ruizs-jersey-video Papelbon pitching in a Ruiz BP jersey, no reason given.
  2. The same scheme as the rest of the Sixer retired numbers was used for AI.
  3. Last year as Devil Rays, first year of Diamondback recolor.
  4. Youk as a Yank. Saw some pictures looking for this one that showed him sans beard while with the White Sox later in 2012. Odder yet, he's wearing 36. Deference to Posada?
  5. Hunter Pence trades in red knee-highs for black. He's #8.
  6. Shows a human/fun side of them. The more people (customers) get to know these athletes the more willing they are to like them then in turn spend $$$ on the Mets. Good on the Mets to be Rays wanna-bes.
  7. I had to stretch with the All-Star jersey, but while finding JJ I also stumbled upon a couple more players. Images only came up for Joe Johnson, so I had to go with him. So the next challenge is to find a player who completes the rainbow without using Phoenix!
  8. This is a different interpretation of "wrong" uniform, that much is certain. Here is another example.
  9. I'll never understand why they put the number on the (viewer's) left side. IIRC, they eventually transitioned it to the correct side, but in the interim there was players with it in the left and others with it on the right at the same time. Sloppy. But, consistent with the homes of that era, where the number was on the same side. Granted, the other side was just the C-REDS mark, so it didn't look as awkward.
  10. Luis Castillo - started Spring Training with the Mets, was released, was picked up by the Phillies, but never made the big club by Opening Day.
  11. Roy Oswalt from his rehab start with the Clearwater Threshers
  12. They could go with powder blue. Not a current team color, but was a part of their scheme in the maroon days. Plus, you can't really walk more than twenty feet in Citizens Bank Park without running into somebody wearing powder blue Phillies gear.
  13. JA Happ, for one night at least, immensely better than the guy for which he was traded.
  14. If the city name doesn't appear on the road uniform, it doesn't bother me.
  15. You think you're excited ... feel my nipples!

  16. Not so much because Jason Kapono is in a Sixer uniform, but since when has a basketball player worn 72? Explanation - Jason's number in his previous NBA stops was 24, but that number is retired in Philadelphia for Bobby Jones. Kapono is a 3-point specialist. 24 x 3 = a Sixers number for JK.
  17. We have completely missed Jerry Tarkanian. And to steer this (sort-of) back to the topic at hand, here is Tark coaching the San Antonio Spurs ...
  18. I have no idea who that is. Pat Burrell. The only thing he's legendary at is striking out and banging every cougar in the Deleware Valley. I've heard some very interesting stories from a girl I met that used to hook up with him. And here's evil Tampa Bay Pat.
